Art insights from my 6 year old into my own practice | doodle date and Caran d'ache

I admire watching the way my children create and sometimes wonder - how did we become so fearful and where did all the hesitation come from. Because it's been rainy over the last weeks - we have been doing more indoor time and that usually means, crayons and crafts.
I hope this little session gave you some insight and perhaps give you some courage to doodle and make art more :)

It is so humbling to learn from them especially since I grew up thinking as adults we should be the experts and rolemodel (I e. Know all the answers) but they have truly shown me what it feels like to model learning instead

Heya! I just came to your from Kristy's video 🫶🏻 Just paused the video because your comment about kids comparing themselves to others at an early age hit home. My son (who's 9) started doing this quite young too, and I find he gets frustrated a bit. So your suggestion about us showing our own frustrations and struggles to help teach them that it's a normal process just blew my mind! Thank you! Now I know how to tackle this better with my son, so he grows up hopefully feeling more confident 🥹🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻thank you so much xxx I'm so glad I found you

Hey!! So lovely to have you here! Hope you enjoyed the video with kristy! Comparison is really all about a sense of belonging i find...And yes building frustration tolerance is really a skill I feel and best done by modelling! ;) our kids put us on a pedestal for so many things and I think if they see learning is constant - it will inculcate more patience in allowing things to unfold :)
