Hand stitched Traditional Tibetan boot/Lham making is facing growing threat from mass-produced, affordable footwear. Growing uninterest from young generation Tibetans and lack of demand has brought once a lucrative profession with over 32 boot making families in Kalimpong to now ‘just three’. We caught up with Tenzin Wangchuk, Kalimpong resident to talk about his quest to carry on the family legacy even in the face of shrinking demand.
