I remember this match as being one sided where United run circles around Arsenal and still lost on penalties. Cr7 and Rooney were complete nightmare to the gunners. I remember reading a newspaper "Arsenal win the title but not the glory". And talking of glory, Liverpool heroic comeback against Milan, at Instanbul (which happened the same season) will always be remembered as the greatest UCL final ever.

I wanted to see this because of all of those players there and not there in the blink of an eye. Some are still playing very rarely Ronaldo maybe and some other youngsters for a couple more years now writing this, others are coaches, most retired including coaches and some maybe have passed like Reyes from Arsenal this was beautiful to see and also sad but I’m trying to keep it strong it is life and you have to be grateful to what you want to see! Remember this match so well literally 3-4 days b4 my first GCSE exam. Back in the glorious times when Arsenal and utd were fighting for trophies until Chelsea Russian roulette ruined the game. Best commentary was from the 1 and only John Motson from the BBC.. 'It's Patrick Vieira to win the fa cup for Arsenal....AND HE HAS!! *Thierry Henry was unavailable* for the match and Sol Campbell was just back from injury so dropping back quickly from a high press and winning aerial battles in our own third was tactically not in the cards. Arsène Wenger lined up his XI in a 4-5-1 and most of our energies were devoted to keeping a clean sheet. Our only real chance on the day was to park the bus, grind out 120 minutes, and carry it over the line in a penalty shootout. For anybody else that would sound like hindsight but that is just how brilliant a tactician Wenger was.

Yes Henry was unavailable but ManUtd still absolutely battered Arsenal who robbed ManUtd... and about 12th man?? Between 1996/97 from IanWright's 2nd yellow escape foul on Schmeichel to Henry's offside brace vs ManUtd 2003 Arsenal can't talk about other teams getting decisions. If Arsenal didn't get decisions vs ManUtd they wouldn't have won the 97/98 PL, the FAcup semi-final 1999 wouldn't have even got to a replay, 1999 Charity shield would've been won by ManUtd instead of Vieira diving all over the place and being dirty but managing to stay on the pitch and win a pen turning gane around etc... And if Arsenal didn't get decisions against other teams they would've lost loads way before 49 unbeaten PL games. I remember in particular Portsmouth at home 2003/04 & Fulham away 2004/05 but also ManUtd should've had a pen at Highbury 2003/04 in the 1-1 draw.

*Thierry Henry was unavailable* for the match and Sol Campbell was just back from injury so dropping back quickly from a high press and winning aerial battles in our own backfield was tactically not in the cards. Arsène Wenger lined up his XI in a 4-5-1 and most of the Gunners' energies were devoted to keeping a clean sheet because scoring opportunities were going to be few and precious. Really our best chance at winning was to park the bus, grind out 120 minutes, and carry it over the line in a penalty shootout. For anybody else that would sound like hindsight but that is just how brilliant a tactician Wenger was.

This remains the most one-sided FA Cup Final ever! If United had won 4-0, Arsenal fans would've come away from the game thinking "Wow, we were lucky to only lose by four because it could've easily been 8-0! We sold this great players and replaced them with weak mentality players, players who play Arsenal for status. Fabregas and Van Persie carried us for years when most of the invisible players left and we failed to put quality players around them and thats why they left. I really hate Kroenke..

the last highbury generation, arsenal players has bigger stature, better physically and mentally. Post highbury, Arsene choose more small but technical gifted player due to economic reasons. Once Emirates paid fully, Arsene already left behind by new breeds of coaches and oil teams. Leicesters winning seasons is very miracle, because all big teams struggle for consistency.

Leicester win no miracle it all paid for by billionaire chairman to the greedy pigs fa and pl. Arsenal had ozil, giroud, sanchez etc. Leviester had a 1990's style 442. They only had one style and that was counter attack. They should have been predictable. It's cos only Arsenals were capable of winning and spurs, manure weren't quite strong then. So the PL dinosaurs, media, skysports wanted to stop Arsenal winning.

What goes around comes around. Arsenal somehow lost the FA Cup final to Liverpool in 2001 after dominating them from first minute to last, and here they somehow win it being dominated by Man United from first minute to last. Nonetheless, the decline in the Invincibles was clear for all to see. This would be a long journey until Wenger’s Arsenal would win it again in 2014.

​@@danielporter3763Yeah lol plus if you look up the stats of the 2001 FAcup final it's nothing like the 1 sided stats of this 2005 match. 20 shots to 4 with no Arsenal shots on target (I'm not counting their 1&only on target v.Persie shot from a wrongly awarded freekick from long range during extra-time) and that doesn't include a marginally offside disallowed goal for ManUtd. 12 corners to 1 is also clear domination and you can't even give Arsenal the excuse that they got an early goal and then just allowed ManUtd to attack and ManUtd were only attacking more because Arsenal didn't need to like people gave for why ManUtd had more shots, corners possession than Bayern in 99 because 2005 FAcup final finished 0-0 Arsenal literally played for that result knew it was the best possible result they could get.

Still one of the most one-sided games I've ever seen. United should have won comfortably!!
