Long Beach Fire Department is bringing home twin #ArrowXT 102’ Ascendant TDA’s! The #AscendantLadder was shortened to allow for a low overall length of only 55’ 2”. For nighttime operations in #LongBeachCA, the interior of the #TractorDrawnAerial has red lighting when the doors are open. The #TDA tillerman’s seat was raised 4” for maximum visibility. The #AscendantTDA has a compartment dedicated to a 24-hole SCBA mount. #TillerTuesday

I rag on Pierce all the time but no other manufacturer would even consider reengineering an aerial device for a single customer, regardless the size of that department (except maybe FDNY). Kudos to Pierce for delivering exactly what the customer needs, and congratulations to Long Beach FD for the new additions to their fleet.
