Show definitely fell with felicity. Seemed like they had a solid direction and knew where they were going then felicity fan service changed it all.

why did it go wrong? the answer is olicity and catering to the olicity demographic. The very same demo that nearly saw the CW die off before Arrow season 1, 2, and the Flash saved it from being removed from tv providers. Season 3 of Arrow is when it started. The episode when they came back from break after they supposedly killed oliver is when things started to take effect but episode dedicated to felicity's past was the precursor to what was to come. After the show essentially became Felicity and friends the quality of the show went right into the shitter. Action scenes became atrocious, olicity took center stage, forced drama became way more prominent, and really bad character writing took precedence over everything else. They got back into a groove into season 5 but they have been rocky sense 6. The way all the characters became assholes and turned on oliver in season 6 is something I haven't will never forgive. Doing that shit made me not care if anyone of them live or die. Honestly I want them to die because there are too many characters on this show. This show used to be legit fucking popular but now it is a shell of what it used to be. It has become what I always feared it would be from the start. It has become the successor to smallville. Smallville could be atrocious to a point where you would hate yourself for watching it but then it would give one or two episodes that showed you that they could reach greatness. Flash has become trash as well. I can't even stand to Flash at this point.

@@ReviewKingMB I couldn't agree with you more it was like you were reading my mind, it got to the point where I began hating some of the characters especially Wild Dog & Mr Terrific & Diggle. With casting I think the worst thing is all the supporting cast are extra players that they made into front and centre main roles example Diggle was ok as the chauffeur not Green Arrow 2.

when you watch season 4 you can tell there was a plan from season 1 but they changed it so much they had to come up with things on the fly. I read somewhere that the William plot of season 4 could make so much more sense if Laurel was Oliver's girlfriend because William exists due to Oliver cheating on her many years ago, and ever since I read that I realized how likely it is that Oliver and Laurel were supposed to be together in season 4 but the writers gave this role to felicity instead

One of my biggest problems with Arrow is the whole premise of him being alone on an island away from civilization for 5 years. But the longer it went on the flashbacks messed that up because he left the island and spent time in Hong Kong I think, and Russia, and even Starling City for one flashback. So technically the stranded story fell apart and the mystique of the island was also messed up because they kept going back there!

I'm currently rewatching Arrow I'm still in the early stages of season 1. Where he did speak fluent Chinese and Russian and he did show that he was a member of the Bratva. The Hong Kong and Russia part of the Flashbacks were always gonna happen. One rewatch and paying attention will show that

I actually didn’t mind him leaving the island and all that, some of the ways he left were a bit weird like I feel like if he left the island it shoulda just been cuz walker or somebody kidnapped him to do something and then they put him back there instead of freeing him

I hate Oliver's kids. The Flash forward versions of all of them are unlikable and cliched. And NONE of them are good actors lol seriously I'm embarrassed they just picked these people up and dared to use them as Oliver's replacements 😡

Season 3 was really good in my opinion but felicity was one of the main problems in it. When Oliver came back from nearly dying to ra’s she went off on him for not coming back sooner and then getting on Oliver for joining forces with merlyn to beat ra’s like what else is he supposed to do he couldn’t beat him alone without training from him

Olicity was one of the worst things ever, but I personally also hated how obsessed the show was with the flashback device. Like it was cool in the first few seasons, flashing between the now of the Arrow doing stuff, and then flashing back to how he got there, how he became the Arrow, how he trained and even met the bad guy of the season. That was cool. But then they thought they had to do this for EVERY.SINGLE.BADGUY.IN.EVERY.SINGLE.SEASON and it just became super unrealistic. The story started with Oliver having been stranded on an island, having to learn to survive on that island, and also meeting some smugglers from that island. But then suddenly there were also wizards and assassins and Indiana Jones artifacts and corrupt polticians and the anti-arrow and he actually left the island and actually went back to the city and then left the city and went to the assassins and then left the assassins and went back to the city and then left the city and went back to the island and then left the island... that just became super stupid at some point. It was a call narrative device for the first two seasons but they should have stopped that after that.

This show used to be great. Then the writing just became bad in season 4.

I agree I couldn't finish season 4 had it on dvd like the other seasons hated season 3 it was just crap and season 4 I just left it running towards the end because it's just so unwatchable and it actually started freezing towards the end ten minutes before it got the season 4 finale thank god I haven't got to finish this trashy season

Nessa? As in Nyssa Al ghul? Sara was never the Black Canary, she was simply "The Canary" They reversed it? No for it to be reversed Tommy would have had to have been the Dark archer. Those things aside, even now it still really bothers me that a show with so much potential and with such a strong first season with so much going for it and so much fan service with Huntress, Deadshot, Deathstroke ect ect as well as little easter eggs dotted around and then yes as we all know (However much the producers deny it) the show turned into an absolute dumpster fire when they did prioritize the "shippers" over the fans. I have literally seen people on yt react to these shows with an eye roll and "Oh..is that meant to be from the comics"..Yes the "shippers" actually seem to have some sort of odd hate for the source material... The only thing that piqued my interest for any future episodes after Black canarys death were the likes of Deathstroke and Anarky appearing. The "shippers" think we should all stop moaning as "Its not the comics" we all know thats bullshit as if Oliver ended up with Laurel and they did not get their Oliver and Felicity fantasy realized then they would be the ones moaning. So much was wasted on this show on the audience that did not appreciate it, I mean how many people who remained to watch the show actually even got a kick out of the boxing glove arrow!

It's strange why you didn't mention Shado... She's the one who literally created the Arrow by taking Oliver under her wing ... She's the best Female Character in the entire Arrowverse

The blame for Arrow’s story degrading over time lies solely on the writers. They made the decisions. As soon as they brought Sara back from the dead, they messed up. When you do that, you throw open the door and eliminate all stakes. Now, anyone could come back. Then you bring magic into a story where the protagonist has no superpowers and he is no longer at hero status. Now he is weak and there is no real reason he should ever succeed. Plus you add in the network. The CW focuses too much on young, good looking characters and their romantic relationships. The Oliver Queen of season 1 was not capable of that due to his PTSD. He was damaged. He was driven. He was focused. If you think about it, they had Oliver get involved with every single female character he met up with except his mother and sister. It was stupid.

Felicity ruined arrow, the writers kept forcing her on us and the whole Olicity thing until it became unbearable. The show went from badass Oliver queen to a soap Oprah over a couple seasons. The felicity only episodes were torture to watch, reading the olicity fans comments on other videos just so happens to be the most cringe worthy thing I’ve ever read. ... Bunch of Brain dead middle aged women probably. They should have stopped after season 2 arguably 3, or maybe just maybe made Oliver queen the main focus because towards the end it was “Badass women the TV Show FT Oliver Queen as background support”

I think the 2 worst thing in concept wss making green arrow more like batman rather than the wise cracking acrobatic smart@$$ he was in the comics... He was a drunken party man before hwe went on that island for 5-10 years... While i think it wouldve sobered him up i dont think he would become this overly gritty @$$hat... I think giving a couple one liners would occasionally fix that... such as "not today sunny" or "I would help you out but ive got a conference meeting to be at in an hour, CIAO" as he is fighting bad guys... I think giving the writers more time to make these types of jokes and having better money management wouldve helped... Oh what couldve been with a green arrow show starring Steve Lamell

in my opinion, arrow season 3 is a bit underrated

I like arrow season 7 but he doesn't seem to be the main character again. Season 5 was nice too.

Arrow Seasons 1 and 2 were quintessentially the best out of everything. And the CW at this point was on a roll, especially with Flash Season 1 following suite. But for some ungodly reason, they decided to fire most of the writers involved in these particular seasons, hence why the cracks really started to show in season 3. Season 4 was pretty much my stopping point, I only had the last 3 episodes to go and I couldn't for the life of me be arsed to watch any of them.

The show was good until Olicity became canon

Season one great Season two good Season three and there after sucked Ok five had some good qualities but not enough to bring me back

To be fair season 5 and the beginning of season 7 was pretty good

To be honest, Falicity started off really interesting and compatible for Oliver as compared to Laurel or any other. She was the opposite of everything Oliver and she could tone his darkness a little. But they just had to push her into this whining complaining mess. I mean falicity was a part of the OGA she was supposed to understand Oliver better. They made her like a girl who wouldn't understand the situation. She was okay with him saying no to their relationship at first and she tried to move on too. She was cool then, but the next seasons the writers were like, oh she is the girlfriend now so she has to be this annoying child by force. What happed to the season one Oliver and Falicity? I fell for that Olicity. The falicity who would make Oliver blush with her blabber not one who accuse him for everything. The Oliver who would kill vertigo with three arrows for threatening falicity and act like she doesn't exist in the next scene.

That stupid cliché of light and dark or opposites attract only works in stupid teen dramas that are not supposed to be taken seriously, something arrow never was. The whole twilight like relationship between Oliver and Felicity was always ridiculous.

I watched several videos about the continuing decline of Arrowverse/CWverse after Arrow ended. My theory about what if all of cringe worthy things in later seasons of Arrowverse were created because of Barry Allen/The Flash involved created Flashpoint. This led the reason why Arrow along with The Flash and Supergirl series in later seasons went wrong. Had Barry never went back to the Past and created Flashpoint, every moments and events later in both Arrow and The Flash seasons will be differently. No William plot twist, Laurel Lance survived, Barry's relationship with Caitlin Snow instead of Iris, No Iris killing obsessed Savitar BS, Supergirl is NOT a self-righteous arrogant heroine but decent character(similar to Justice League animated series version of her), No Legends of Tomorrow(or I should say a rip-off Doctor Who/Morons of Tomorrow) messes up the timelines. Period.

They fucked up both deathstroke and ras Al ghoul and wasted the actors so damn bad

I don't agree. Arrow had some ups and downs, but overall it's a great show that gets a lot of unecessary hate. Season 1: 10/10 Season 2: 9.5/10 Season 3: 8.5/10 Season 4: 5.5/10 Season 5: 9.5/10 Season 6: 7.5/10 Season 7: 8/10 Season 8: 9.5/10 Overall:9/10.

You have this strong show then it starts falling downhill. I like season 1 2 5 and half of 6 but 3 is ok and the rest are mediocre (haven't watched 8). They add these characters for 0 reason then kill them off or send them away. E.g. rory, nyssa, mckenna, tommy shado and slade. Arrow strayed from its original path and it's suffered imo.

Awesome rant. Agree with everything. I hated diaz and wild dog. Hilarious.. diggle & wild dog shoot bullets and kill people...I think...what are they rubber bullets? Makes no sense.

I'm one of those who were willing to give this show another shot. But finding out that there is no Lance Family at all in the Arrowverse in the furture? I guess it's true they hate fans like me? Even with new writer's and showrunne rs, do they even care? Or are they using Black Siren as a plot device? Plus I'm tired of Olicity fans getting everything they want and we get nothing in return. And they say " get over it." Like my options do not matter! I'm sorry for the long rant. I just don't why I should even consider returning to a show that hates the Lance family. just so you know, Sara was called The Canary. she was still the BLack Canary, but she was called The Canary

They should of had ras al ghul come later in season 6. He came up to early then how do you explain oliver training with Ras then having trouble with diaz and promethus later, and etc. After season 3 he should of been dominating everybody.

Thomas Pandit Fan Plus, it was clear, at least to me, that Oliver was always the superior fighter to both Prometheus and Diaz. Prometheus's strongest weapon was his planning and him actually wanting Oliver to kill him to prove a point. Oliver was clearly dominating him in their final fight in 5x23. As for Diaz, both fights in season six showed Oliver having the upper hand; he only lost the first time due to Diaz's hidden knife and would have apprehended him in the finale if not for Black Siren's intervention. Diaz needed a super serum to even close to beating Oliver in a straight out fight, and Oliver still came on top in their prison brawl when Diaz pressed the wrong buttons.

You know why they focused so much on Felicity.... because Lettuce Gravy 🥓 🍅 Queso. Emily Ri¢kards is part of it so she must be celebrated, glorified, and exemplified. Just saying.

Man, did I _hate_ Felicity after those first two seasons. Such a toxic person after she hooked up with Oliver, too.

Good video, hoss :D. I too considered seasons 1 and 2 to be the best in the show overall. Deathstroke was the best villain in the show and Manu Bennet played him very enjoyably. I found season 3 to be ok but it was indeed the start of the downfall with the start of Olicity. Prometheus was a much better villain than Damien Darck and Ricardo Diaz to me though. He was actually scary with his obsessions and brutality. Damien, though i like that actor, felt like a cartoon villain, while Diaz, like you said, needed to be something other than a street thug drug dealer. Thea's exit from the show was also a blow, I think. Season 7 was the worst in my view, despite the prison segments actually being decent. I absolutely hated the flashforward sections in this season too. I could not care less about the "adult" versions of the main team's kids. I have little hope for season 8 but I'll watch it to the end, since, despite the show getting worse in many aspects, I still enjoyed most of it up to the second half of season 7.

Id say it started going downhill Season 3. Laurel ruined it for me, S1-2 when ever the league appeared they semt like a challenge but for some reason laurel (with no real training) can take them down like they are nothing is what ruined it for me tbh

Season one of the flash, supergirl, and arrow were the best cw's writing sucks.

I agree the show used to be great but season 3 it's just been complete dogshit we have way way to many flashbacks to many olicity scenes pandering to the obsessed olicity fans bit like with wynonna earp with the wayhaught fans too much unecessary drama they killed off Sara they kill off laurel they have olicity scenes I really struggled to get through season 3 because Ra's Al ghul was just boring and then I started season 4 and I thought okay maybe maybe it will get better noooooo it continued to go downhill Damien Darhk became like a bond villain with powers I agree I was bored with Ra's Al ghul character aswell then then it becomes this community has been built underground because Darhk wants to end the world by nuking it and Damien Darhk manages to nuke one city but this season sucked inthe end the season 4 dvd messed up before the last episode I was like thank god I haven't got to watch this trash the flash has also gone downhill aswell become empty in season 6 using the same ideas same storylines and also pandering to these woke sjw types and fans shipping olicity or wayhaught fans like they do in wynonna earp I'm at the point where I'm like I just don't want to watch this show same with Supergirl same with the flash and please please no more flashbacks of Oliver on the island I just do not care anymore I just hope season 5 is better I'm not sure if I will continue with it I probably will but I will just skip 4 so glad I'm not gonna finish it

Arrow Season 1, 2, 5, and 8 are the best in the show. Seasons 3, 4, 6, and 7, however are bad and not great. Arrow is a half decent show to say the least.

Cw shows are something worst that i ever seen. Who write these stuff has brain problems. I don't no what happen but season 1 of arrow and flash was actually good. I watched season 2 and 3 but then i stop on season 4 cause i got brain damage watching these. These shows are worse then fairy tales. Supergirl and legends i won't even comment. And every singel character is super annoying i don't know how they manage to do that. Just watch agents of shield that how you do show not these crap. Agents of shield make me love every singel character and you can see them grow and change from season 1. I understand that every season can't be good but these shows changed so much from first 3 seasons. It not only stupid story but they manage to make every character annoying even the main ones. And every episode is same,bad guy comes wins then comes pep talk and by the power of trust and friendship good guys win. Wow,wow,wow! And drama is sooo bad and annoying omg!!! Felicity,Iris just omg!!! And logic in these shows are worse then fairy tales😂 Even by superhero shows standards.

Domica Dom I agree 100 percent!! Shield is amazing, arrow hasn’t been good since season 1 and 2 for me, I watched the whole show and it makes me physically sick! Especially the terrible series finale (besides the season 1 flashbacks) I can’t watch the flash stopped on season 5 and the other cw shows I can’t even watch the episode previews without wanting to throw up! I’m sad Agents of Shield is ending they constantly reinvent the show in a good and fresh way with new stories and very interesting villains, not a single season has disappointed me in anyway unlike the absolute trash that is on the cw!! (Also I think Oliver and Laurel had amazing chemistry unlike Oliver and Felicity, the 100th episode of arrow showed off their chemistry amazingly, obviously their was something their since they had to kill Laurel for Oliver to end up with Felicity)

I really love this show always has and always will.

I thought season 2 was good

i personnally thought season 5 was the best. It felt new even after 5 years.

And then Felicity became a likeable character that became an unlockable character and now it season 7 she is likeable again but I don't know how he feels to like her mostly because they've been that horrible characterization of the characters season 4

What went wrong with Arrow? Simple. It became a cartoon that was horribly written and pretentious as you said. And the whole "Olicity" thing as well. CW always does this man. They take really good supporting characters and make them into such unlikeable know-it-alls. They did it with Iris in Flash with The Flash. They did it with Felicity in Arrow. They did it with Coop in All American. Literally, all three of the CW's big IP TV shows have characters that start out as likable side characters but become intolerable by the 4th or 5th season for the fact that the writers want to give them more to do but cannot write them well enough to make that earned. And what makes it worse is that despite turning into complete assholes in these seasons - Felicity and Iris - the other characters still treat them the same and don't acknowledge their foolishness. Plus, there are always those characters in these CW shows that I cannot stand. I hate saying that I dislike characters but it happened to me in both Arrow and All American. In Flash, I actually didn't mind the characters until Iris made a 180. In Arrow, it was Laurel and Thea initially - they both are bitchy characters who think they are better than they are. And Thea was super whiny like you said and just a spoiled brat. When Laurel became Black Canary in the last season she was okay to me but still was meh. Honestly, Diggle was a hit-and-miss character to me throughout the show. He was a good side character for the most part but whenever it came down to a choice that was personal he said and did some very erratic things, in my opinion, which made his character a bit unlikeable. I get that in a personal endeavor you are bound to take it personally but if there is such a thing it came across as too personal to the point where I thought he would be stupid. In All American, easily the character that I cannot stand throughout the show is Billy Baker. He's always trying to be this "ra-ra guy" and to be honest, it comes across as extremely pretentious. And what is irritating is the same thing that I have a gripe with Felicity and Iris - the other characters respect him when he just comes across as being fake. Then, you have the character Olivia who is as annoying and short-sighted a character as you can get. Jordon is sometimes extremely annoying as well as is even Spencer. But, as the seasons progressed Coop became what Iris and Felicity became: a once good side character who became full of shit and all of a sudden decided to exploit their opinions onto other people. Great video man. 100% agree.

i would say watch season 5, 7a and 8. Those seasons are really good.

I personally think arrow is a good show the only trash seasons were 4 and 7 (s7 went to hell after slabside) S1 was great S2 was amazing S3 was legit but had a rats chance at competing with the 2 previous seasons S5 was just better than s2 in my opi ion bc the season before was just sooooooo bad and the fact that the comeback was so insane it makes it better than s2 S6 wasnt that good but was far from the worst like s4 was S8 was short but satisfying and had a great ending and there was 1 episode that was just mediocre the

Season 6 is and will always be the best season.

It has the best in the episode in the entire show, a great cliffhanger that leads directly into the next season, a great rivalry between oliver and cayden james and between oliver and diaz. It also has the fallout between oliver and his friends which is very interesting. I could re-watch it every day unlike the boring season 1 and 2.

Totally understandable but you have to admit it doesn't have any good Seasons other than season 1 and 2 you could say the beginning of season 5 was good but around the middle it starts to turn into bullshit and then everything went downhill kind of like Arrow season 6

Yeah we can tell and if you were of course you would care about the source material being respected and the most important characters in the Green arrow mythos in Arsenal and Black canary and Green arrow being treated as second rate. Its the same for any other "Fandom", if Harry potter fans or Hunger games fans went to see the films and so many key moments or moment that were important to them they would be annoyed too

The thing is, the whole tv arrowverse is based on the comics. So when the best things of comics are twisted into garbage in tv, they just don't justify the character. That's why comic fans voice it out.

I like Dinah I like Curtis and I like Renee I'll admit they weren't the most interesting characters but they were interesting to an I kind of like the person who was getting Justice for family and pretending to be the Black Canary and then she became part of Team Arrow I kind of like that because she seemed like the Artemis character from Young Justice but then they made her out to be a bad guy working for Prometheus which kind of annoy me but I kind of saw it coming extent I definitely agree that other guy the one with the rags was way more interesting and we left it was kind of a bummer and I like they redeem the show with this new villain they didn't have to make his costume accurate to the comics but I felt the ship and killed off in season 6 that way then return back to just Diggle Felicity the only character I recommend keeping was Dinah since we needed a Black Canary they could have killed off Curtis and Renee oh yeah they also could have killed off Williams mother that way it can be accurate enough to the comics Oliver raises his kid that would have been nice it also would have been nice if they actually kept his original characterization the same from season 5 and season 6 but yeah I get way comes from they should have stuff to what they really want the plan for season 5 at the End of season 4 having Oliver go back to being a solo vigilante

The first two seasons of Arrow are A M A Z I N G i just love them so much❤❤❤❤ But then ya know, 3rd season was rlly good and then comes the 4th season which...yeah, whatever😭

I’ll say this, I am not a super picky comic book fans. Whoever I can tell a majority of fans are the most picky haha 😂. We all have an opinion of course but I can tell it’s easier for people to go hate on something other people are enjoying. Anyways Arrow season 1 and 2 are by far my favorite live action super hero seasons. That includes both marvel and DC.

I actually like Curtis as being Mister terrific cuz you was a superhero in the comics but I don't think he fought anyone he mostly uses brains and I like that they got Black Canary back even though it wasn't Laurel Lance so I'll take good with the bad

I actually like the whole FBI investigating Oliver's identity yes Quentin did it in the first season but it wasn't that interesting and you're mad that didn't make her three-dimensional character she wasn't dare to be a complex character she was just there to be a plot device what did you expect and also I like Ricardo Diaz I thought you show up in the main villain from season 6 instead of Cayden James which is a freaking computer hacker Oprah can't fight. But yeah I was met your tell me a guy like this cuz take on Oliver who was trained in martial arts over the years yeah that's a bit weird but okay I'll take the good with the bat and I'd like that they extinguishes back sore with a brothel and I like that they faked the whole hair with a beard thing I get it but come on man
