This lady is considering herself as a New Yorker. She doesn't consider herself as Indian. This is bloody shit in Indians that speaking English is source of literacy. Today English is not a language it's a status symbol for elites. And one more thing that in world rankings English is on 3 and Hindi is on 4 .we should be proud of speaking in Hindi. Even European countries like Spain, France and Germany don't consider English as their language they speak in their native language with people of other countries. We should also do the same

Issue being, its becoming a major inconvenience that india doesn't have one common language like other countries. Hence we have supposedly adopted the only language the british left us- English. Your idea would only work if south india agrees.

I understand your point but I don’t mind. Life repeats its self everyday. These things happen every single day especially in small societies where people try very hard to keep up with the so called upper level people.
