Hey are you knocking down your steering limit before the run? Then increasing it to turn around? I been struggling with a vendetta I’m trying to run. I have all the right parts to go 150 or more. Based off other people’s builds. But I will literally check and double check everything. Then when I get it on the road. It don’t go straight. As soon as I get in it or start to build Speed it wants to pull one way or the Other forcing me to let off out of fear of sending it to hell. I already fried the stock servo and replaced it with a Betu 35KG and put a hot racing servo saver on it. I don’t understand. I’m super new but I swear the car only drove PREDICTABLY when it was stock. It’s like now I can’t even get it right. I fix one problem I find another. But the little runs I do where I bail out, you can see the cars going like hell. But again I get the “ohh shit oh shit”! close calls. Then I see a guy like you who obviously knows what he’s doing - going dead straight and giving it a full go. If I can get it to go a full pass, for once. I be able to see some numbers.

How smooth is your road? If it fairly smooth, I'd switch out the shock with turn buckles. Then you can easily adjust each corner of the car.

And yeah, I turn down the D/R rate "dual rate" before each pass to make the steering slow. Ideally you want the car to go straight but if you have to steer, you want it to be slight and not aggressive. Your suspension is probably out of whack. I run turn buckles in the front instead of shocks and lift the car from dead center with screw driver setting on something so I can push down to raise the front of the car. Both wheels should leave the ground at the same time and also land back on the table flat without one side of an individual tire touching first.

Also, you want to run a little bit of toe out in the front to help the car be stable. In the past, when I had a car start to pull under power, it was normally the rear of the car that was causing it. Additionally, when your setting suspension, majevsure the car is fully loaded and turned on, so that the weight is correct and the servo will keep the wheels centered while checking everything.

@@Chris-adams-rc-journey thanks so much man. You’re the second person who told me use tierods as shocks. Do I do this in all four wheels? And I was told use the typhon tierods? I am very new to RC and I went ordering parts thinking it’ll be good. Now I think I wasted a lot of money in parts that weren’t necessary. I purchased a castle 1717 weeks ago/ MMX8s. But when it arrived, I was scratching my head as to how the he’ll does this fit?? Now I seen another guy who uses a 6s carbon servo mount. Relocated the receiver and receiver box to the other side then used an elevated rom esc mount so you don’t have to remove the esc for gear changes. I just got the 2.4 hoons silver and now I’m also thinking I should’ve went up to 17mm hex and got GRPs. The road I tried last night did have an aggressive slope from middle to each side. For water drainage. So I guess I’ll do what you said to do now and I’ll find a flat road.

@@Chris-adams-rc-journey road was horrible actually. I was running it at the Traxxas HQ. Road right outside. Very straight lit up at night and flat. But then I hit a reflector and scratched my carbon splitter and then I decided I need a new spot. The spot I ran it last night was right up the street near a middle school and it definitely wasn’t smooth. Long and straight but the road gradient had a noticeable slope / crown.
