Swapped to a steel spur on mine when I switched motors, forgot to mention that on the other vid comment. Also cut a slot in the chassis under the spur. But I am with you, worst case scenario buy a new one. Keep the broken one as spares. 👊🍻👍

Thanks Earl! You've gone & done it, you've added fuel to the Traxxas Arrma war! 😂 I don't have any Arrma yet so can't comment. Only my own experience with 2 Slash 4x4 (hcg & lcg chassis), 2 X-maxx V1 6s & v2 8s), an E-revo V1 brushless edition & a Traxxas Maxx. They are amazing fun but not indestructible like any rc if you crash or land bad.I have a few other make & model of RC too. I don't expect things to break if I just drive aggresive but don't bash & crash! "I am brave without talent and crash a lot. One day I will have more tallent!" Keep on bashing! 😊

RC dude 82! LOL so far the wear & tear on mine is 4 plasitc spurs(now have metal spur), 1 plastic rear input gear, 1 rear plastic crown gear, & 1 esc (didn't pay for the new esc) other than that it's all good with

Metal spur gear and cut a hole in the bottom of the chassis to let the dust out near the spur and it will be send worthy. Love what you're doing. Keep it up!

Yup the good ol' spur gear is gone. Most likely because the motor mount bent. Get the HR metal spur gear and the HR motor mount kit and it'll never happen again.

RIP Big Rock 🤣😂😎 Na BRCC is a little tank, but I will take an Xmaxx in a wild terrain like that every time. BMX track, Skatepark, Ramping it up, then you can debate🤷 O8S and Xmaxx rule the badlands! Great stuff Earl... Too bad you didn't get to that second pack

Big rock will wear out as it all plastic in all the joints but is a good starter basher just won’t outlast a traxxas rc car

But I still read people in FB groups telling how the ESC failed in their Maxx and, if you join that to the 270 extra pounds it is... I don't know how you can spend that amount on a big rock which is supposed to be quite tough being the servo the only part of its electronics that easily breaks😅

Obviously broke it before the 80 foot in the air jump?

I think a lot of the Big Rocks durability has to do with its weight. If the Big Rock was the size of the X-Maxx, it probably wouldn't be as durable.

the v3 comes with a plastic spur gear lock nut so it won't back out like the previous versions with a metal lock nut

Bro u need to give them love by not leaving the rocks inside that's why it broke I've jumped mine just the same and it lasted as long as I got the rocks out duh.

Hell of a basher only took multiple 80 ft jumps to kill it.

Well I guess it’s back to the drawing board for that one..I thought something happened that last jump it just dropped like a stone did something happen it before that when it got stock. That’s why I don’t need to buy any off these just watch you guys bash them and break them and still have the money in my pocket lol. Awesome video though

I have been giving my Big Rock an unholy ass beating in an actual attempt to break it. So far it has only broken ITSELF. Most of the torque in this drivetrain is transferred to the rear wheels. The drive shaft retaining screws will spin themselves out (loc-tite these!), The Driveshaft u-joint yokes will spread under the torque and pop the joint loose (you can snap these back together), and BOTH of my rear wheels are bent. Yes, the wheels themselves. If you're gonna hook this thing up on pavement a lot, the power is it's own worst enemy. I'm convinced this is the Arrma entry level vehicle to have and the one to judge others by. It's 319 bucks, does over 50 out of the box (measured this), and takes an incredible beating. The v4 should have most of the growing pains of this platform worked out. If you need a 1/10th that goes hard for a low price, this is it.

The big rock is a good 3s rig it actually is. But it's composite chassis that's it's issue and it's true weak point I do believe... The Xmaxx is designed to go to war legitimately lol. The big rock wasn't it's more like a Granite on steroids. But I dunno if a big rock box stock can handle a big jump like that. Mine hasn't broke yet thankfully but I don't send it like that either lol. Now I believe the Granite and vorteks would handle a jump like that much better. Reason being is they are shorter wheel base rigs and the outcast 4s all use the same chassis. And a shorter wheel base should be stronger. I say this because on longer wheel base rigs there is more weight towards the front so it takes slightly more torque n HP to wheelie a big rock and kraton 4s and typhon 3s n mega vs a short wheel base. Because of weight.... So when a big rock or kraton 4s hits a big jump there is more stress on the chassis and bulk heads. So if it was big rock vs granite or big rock vs outcast 4s the big rock would actually most likely break first in a jump... The granite is a tough mofo and can take a legitimate beat down though. Now if you want a big rock that can take on a Xmaxx or Mini Maxx which isnt really Mini lol. You should get the center brace and the stainless steel chassis plate they make a couple diff ones. And possibly rpm arms or something like that. Mc2 motor mount kit. Then it should be fine besides the plastic crown and input in the diffs and plastic yolks..

That's why I picked the Granite v3 the big rock had me a little skeptical

I'm lost here, lol, are you for or against the big rock. 80 ft jump ?? Still, there was an issue b4 the jump, it took the jump a couple times. IDK, man, think I need a big rock. Rc guy garage started the sale for me, you may have finished. 😆

The big rock 🪨 I feel everyone should try it but as for the long term basher the xmaxx will out live the big rock and out perform every big bash out there I feel the big rocks light weight really helps it survive but mine is already showing it’s price tag and falling apart as I feel most will over time 💯💯💯

I would never bought 4 stock motors. At replacement, went Castle. Diffs at replacement went Metal, and servo, all rtr servos are poo, get a savox and be done.

Man st people are 🚫 t gonna dive off a cliff so damage expected 😁

@@angelteamnolimit624 I upgraded my redcat shredder to 6s with 120amp esc. It had an 80 amp esc Im gonna put it my big rock to try to run 4s. People say the stock big rock esc can't handle the 4s voltage.

I feel xmaxx is way over priced for the average guy ? I have duratrax raze st nitros that put these rcs to shame and they don’t make them anymore lol. I think to each his own and what you can afford is the whole idea of the hobby lol

By all means keep driving it after you say the motor doesn't sound good...lol. But then again the guy was dying to talk bad ab the Big Rock. All rc's break. It's part of it.

So replacing parts on a not Brocken rc funny part is I showed & measured that location due to a few people saying it’s not 80 ft and it came in at 67 feet 🤷🏻‍♂️⚠️💯

It's nice....for an arrma. However, it'll never....ever, ever...compare nor compete along side xmaxx for to many reasons than 1 lol... traxxas is #1 for reasons and the xmaxx is the best rc truck (basher) produced for many and many of reasons.. But hey, good try arrma hahahaha
