@@arolemaprarath6615 The Roman Pontiff is NOT equal to God. That is blasphemous. The Pope is a sinner, just like all other human beings. He is a servant of God. In fact, popes have referred to themselves as "Servant of servants of God", a title which I think began being used by Pope Gregory the Great. However, God has entrusted him, by virtue of him being the successor of St. Peter, His flock, that he shall be the visible head of His Church and teach, guide and lead the faithful. He has supreme power over the Church and the immediate care of all souls, and he enjoys the gift of infallibility when defining a dogma on faith and morals, as well as confirming and explaining the Catholic faith through his ordinary magisterium in his letters, bulls, encyclicals etc. To be in communion with the Catholic Church is to be in communion with the pope. This is what the Catholic Church teaches. So you are correct except for saying that the Pope is equal to God, which he is not. Being the vicar and representative of God, the visible head of His Church and teacher of all faithful is not the same as being equal to Him. In Catholicism, only Christ is truly equal to God.
