Parodists also imitate style, so what's bothering you now? I'll tell you: the fact that what Udio is doing is embarrassingly similar to Vangelis' music and for some reason you feel it's a sacrilege, a desecration or at least that Vangelis is a lesser artist and his art is worth less. I don't want to mislead anyone, that's the most accurate way of describing the title and description of the video, there are similar titles in other youtube videos. The video itself is an image also created by AI. Nowhere does anyone claim that this is Vangelis music. Please describe how anything you see in the video is misleading!

I for one welcome our Cylon overlords. At least they can make good music while they send me to the gulag.

How is this by Vangelis when he died in 2022? Or is the grammar reversed and you're trying to say that the AI was inspired and made music based on that of Vangelis? Or possibly this is a lesser known Vangelis than the world famous one?

Sorry, my English is not good and I translated it wrong, it's an AI generated music, Vangelis style (I'll change the title of the video because it can be misleading, but the description is all there). I wanted to show how amazing it is that AI can imitate and create Vangelis-like melodies and sounds. After many, many song fragments, prompts and tries, I put together a disc of material from these songs and this is the video itself. Vangelis is indeed dead and the AI is just imitating, so can we consider this as real creative music or is it more like plagiarism? Either way, without the genius of Vangelis and his musical legacy, I don't think AI would ever be able to produce these tunes without inspiration. I like this music and it soothes the painful absence of Vangelis, who can no longer create new songs, yet can live on with the help of AI.

Use your own creativity to compose music . Letting a computer do it by copying someone else's music style is just useless. Doing this means you become the same as all those punters who just press a button and say "look what I've created !" When in fact there was no human element involved. You say 'we program the computer to do this so we basically have a hand in the creative process ' . No you have simply fed it information, the computer does everything else. Like an automatic pet feeder, it may distribute the food but it does nothing else. So does the pet feeder take care of the animal etc ? No. Are you gonna let the computer eat for you , do your chores and errands, love another person ? Dont become a vegetable !

I'm not a musician, I can't compose, I don't claim to be one. I merely use AI as a toy and, like a child, I share with others what it can do with joy and amazement. I understand that it offends you that AI gives every human being the opportunity to do things for which they have neither the knowledge nor the talent. In my opinion, there is a second industrial revolution happening in the world right now. It used to be that the steam engine took the workers' jobs. But now creative, artistic work is under threat because AI can imitate human creativity more easily and cheaply. I sense the danger of this too. But I use it as a toy, I don't make money with it, I don't destroy anyone with it and I don't get AI to start a nuclear war.
