South Jordan Police - Phone: 801-446-4357 - Sgt. Mark Squire
On Thursday May 23rd Sgt. Mark Squire with the South Jordan Police Department pulled over an 18 year old on her way to work for allegedly going 47 in a 35. When she requested proof and proceeded to ask questions. Sgt.Squire quickly escalated and told her he'd physically pull her out of her car and arrest her for "failing to ID". At this point my daughter called me to come and film the interaction. I showed up and started filming that's when Sgt. Mark "check out my huge helmet" Squire proceeds to escalate encounter by running my plates to demanding ID. In the end this disgrace to the badge ends up arresting my daughter and I for failing to ID. He also impounded both our vehicles.
Formal Complaint made regarding the violation of civil rights and retaliation in person to Lieutenant Matt Adams of the (South Jordan Utah Police Dept) who (big surprise) found no issues. Cops investigating cops what a joke!
Brothers and Sisters this has to stop! We keep seeing cops violate, extort, harass and even kill the very citizens they've taken an oath to "protect" for victimless crimes in an effort to raise revenue for their cities! We will be pleading not guilty but its already costed me thousands in fines.
