its because the source of hatred and violence is their holy book. The books asks them to do jihad against the misbelievers and jihadis are promised paradise. Here are some citations Quran 9:29, Quran 98:6, 98:73, 5:33, 9:29, 4:101. You can directly put these in google one by one and read for yourself. Here's the one where jihadis ae promised virgins in heaven -> jami at tirmidhi 3:20:1663 . Also a common defense from their side is jihadis are not allowed to kill innocent people but in Allah's eyes we the polytheist are the greatest of sinners. Shirk is the sin we commit and it is the only sin Allah will never forgive. So killing people whom their GOD considers sinners is the greatest jihad for them and if they die during the process they believe they have greater rewards in heaven.
