arr. Gordon Jacob: Brother James's Air (April 2021)

The University of Pittsburgh's Heinz Chapel Choir has a tradition of singing Gordon Jacob's arrangement of "Brother James's Air" that dates back to the choir's founding in 1938. The singers reflected on the resonance of this piece of music at the close of the 2020-21 academic year, during which their singing was profoundly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of their thoughts can be found in this video.
The students recorded in Heinz Memorial Chapel in two semi-choirs of 21 singers each and 5 virtual-only students provided individual recordings, all of which were mixed together during post-production.
