Arpit Sharma Rank 369 | UPSC Motivation | CSE 2021 Topper's Talk | NEXT IAS
In this particular conversation, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚, an Interview Guidance Program (IGP) student from NEXT IAS, who secured 𝐀𝐈𝐑 𝟑𝟔𝟗 in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2021, shares his experience, strategy and the important do's and don'ts for cracking this examination.
𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐩𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚 comes from Pitampura, Delhi. He has done Electrical Engineering from Delhi Technological University then he started to prepare for the civil services examination. He has given all his attempt but couldn't clear even prelims but he cracked the prestigious IAS exam in his last attempt with Political Science And International Relations (PSIR) as his Optional subject.

Every year lakhs of aspirants embark on their UPSC journey in pursuit of a good rank in the prestigious Civil Services Examination. Clearing the UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of those dreams that has been consistent for many aspirants through the years. But if we look at the statistics, although the number of aspirants is rising every year, the number of vacancies is reducing significantly. This causes worry while preparing for the examination and results in failure. The UPSC preparation is an arduous journey and its difficulty level can be gauged by the fact that only 0.1% of the people appearing in the examination get selected.

1. Don't take CSAT so lightly.. Can ruin whole attempt or attempts. 2. Analyse thoroughly all the things while deciding ur optional.. If possible, may choose engineering optional itself. 3. Do some physical exercise everyday for ur physical as well as mental health ( I think, the most important to achieve everything). 4. Talk to only +ve people whether ur parents or friends.

@@SaurabhSharma-se1sj , Maine engineering ki electrical engineering me gaav ki jameen bech kar, mai gareeb ghar se hu maine tution pdha kar upsc ki preparation ki, kyunki engineering ke baad bahut try kiya koi job nhi mili... Mere second prelims bhi kharab ho gya, gaav me na ghar hai na tv hai na kuch hai, mere ghar me itni problem hai ki log zindgi se oob chuke hain.. Mere father bimaar hain, mere mother ke ankho me problem hai sister ki shadi karni hai... Mai 10k ki job karunga phir bhi mai kisi tareeke se apne family ko support nhi kar paunga.. Koi sath nhi hain relatives dost ne sath chor diya, depression me hu, wapas ghar gya to kya leke jaunga, mere ghar me to sone ke liye mere paas bed bhi nhi hain 5member hain ghar me kisi tareeke se guzzara karte hain... Mere pass kuch nhi bcha hai ab mai kaha jaooo kya karu bas pocket me 1000/- amount hai... Ghar walo se, kya help magoo jo bechaare khud khane ko laale pde hain... But upsc ke liye abhi bhi jooonon hai, mai ab kisi labour ki job kar lunga lekin wapis ghar nhi jaunga.... 3 saal ho gye mujhe ghar gye... Ladunga mai aur 3 attempt aur hai usko bhi dunga.... Gareebi se waise bhi mar jaunga, kyun na struggle karke mar jaooo... Ya to jeet jaaooo. Ya to khud ko zinda laash bna looo.... 😭😭😭😭

Other challenges will give you strength but UPSC prep will give you courage.
Bhaiya . You're literally a warrior. Didn't gave up even after not qualifying for mains 5 times. It was really a blessing for having a chance to interact with you in Samkalp PDC , It was really an eye-opener. Thank you very much bhaiya.
Once Abhishek Parmar Sir said that "Meri nazar me Successful wo nhi h jinhone pehle ya doosre try me upsc clear Kiya h meri nazar me Successful or topper wo h jinhone 5-6 attempt dene ke baad bhi haar nhi maani and than he cracked upsc"
My journey: He attempted 6 times appeared 3 mains and 2 interviews but he could not make it. No regrets at all
You are inspiration Arpit no doubt. I have seen aspirants giving mains back to back and never getting interview call from different categories. Having patience and faith is the real fight in this journey. You would be a good administrator for sure. All the best brother.

It's hardly matter that someone is coming from reservation or from general category... What matters... In a country of 130 crore people.. Giving upsc exam is milestone.... CSAT is of CAT level

You are through....... But if you could not qualify then what was the plan-B? I have seen people who could not qualify prelims after lots lots of hardwork & hardships in all 6 attempts.

First 5 attempts no reservation, 6th attempt EWS and got IFS 😕😕
Those who can not appreciate hard work and true grit...r not worthy of even attempting upsc.... They will jst spew negativity and crib in comments of successful stories..... Poor duma55
Physical strength is also important now i am doing my 2 nd government job and preparing for upsc but i do running 5km daily its actually now my habit takes 25 minutes but when i finish my last round the pleasure of wining from my self daily in either heat cold whatever the weather it is that keep me motivating for prepration that i can do this....ARPIT SIR SALUTE U AND I AGREE U 😀

@@cyborgat23 but how, after 2021 i solved vision test series for csat . I solved 14-15 tests in exam like environment got 75+ in all and thought that i will be safe this time, but trapped in same condition

@@mayurkushwaha3328 I'm not expert few things worked for me - you can't depend on one section alone - I contacted few senior who scored 160+ in csat for 3-4 attempt they told one book called rakesh yadav class notes ssc (not a magical book) first of all my maths was quite weak so i had to give extra effort so started with maths - So started with rakesh yadav class notes pdf available online i did arithmetic section from there (solved it 2 times first by looking at solution then by myself if i had doubt few people have these notes on KZread saw their video)and after that i saw number system video by pawan rao (took lot of time but worth it) if you don't have time then can watch abhinay maths 20 video of number system.. after that for practice Rakesh yadav advanced maths pdf available online did chapter 1-7 from there it have lot of questions did it 2 times for reasoning saw some video online for 7-8 topic and practiced 50+ questions for comprehension did last 5 year pyq only and most importantly did last 6 year paper thoroughly atleast 2 times and try to Attempt more than 50+ through did i increased my scored to 130+ i attempted this year csat paper in 2 hour in my home getting 130+ last year i got 62

Prelims is 10 times harder than mains Tina dabi has became a topper due to reservation and qualify in prelims And topped in IAS By seeing this topper I am 100% sure that if he got reservation he definitely clear IAS in first attempt
