A tour around my 1/76 scale OO gauge London tramway layout. The video shows the general arrangement of this shelf-based layout. Track is PECO streamline with small radius points built into a card road surface.
The tramcars are built from Tower Models plastic kits. Buildings on the layout are from the Kingsway Models range of card building kits or are modifications thereof. Although not a faithful model of any particular place the layout depicts a fictional part of Tooting , South London in around 1950. Much of the London tramway system ran using the conduit method of picking up electric power where a 'plough' underneath the car ran in a slot between the running rails. This was expensive to build and maintain but did away with the need for unsightly overhead wires.
The last London trams ran in July 1952.

Amazing, what did you need to make this work of art and what tram model are they all? Also how did you install the motor and modify the tram for it? (if needed) thanks!

The model is based on the standard design for UNderground stations along the southern end of the Northern line. I use a four wheel chassis from the now discontinued Bachmann Underground Ernie series. However I have achieved similar effect using Tenshodo SPUD chassis. See londonmodeltramways.webs.com/kingswaythemodel.htm about 2/3 of the way down - 'The Trams' for a diagram and further info.
Scale trams scale buildings but cornering at non scale speed and unreal starts and stops.
