That's not the case all the time in modern football...if you watch the way Liverpool are set up Trent's priority is not to defend, but he is a playmaker in a RB position

I am a Chelsea fan but gotta admit Trent long passing techniques are just unbelievable just out of this world.He can pass the ball with both feet no matter the circumstances just need to touch with the ball.Jeez really love this guy I wish he could play in midfield.But Reece,he is just like a striker when it comes to finishing in tight angle.Crossing, passing he is at some level just not better than Trent..Defending 1 vs 1,he is a nightmare for the wingers.

If ur talking about all attributes of a fullback especially the modern day Reece james is better in my opinion, RJ has good defending good attacking good passing and shooting, whereas Trent has alright defending good passing shooting ain’t good and attacking wise as in driving with the ball he’s not the best so overall I would give it to Reece james tbh

The answer is Reece James and it was clear from last season. People say trent is better going forwawrd. I can accept that however just because he is doesnt mean james is no slouch, hes still a top 5 crossing full back in europe, and finishes better than trent. He is also quicker and a better dribbler. As for defending there is not a single thing trent has over james

James had more goals and assists per mins played last season, with less in form attackers… better going forward as well in my opinion Trent’s only clear cut thing better than James is free kicks

I think the choice depends on situations. When we have a fast striker, and we need a goal, Arnold is the best for that. When we have a tall striker for head occasions, Reece is best for that. When there is a fast winger opponent, Reece is better choice than Arnold. Technically, speed and strength, Reece is better than Arnold. Arnold is a better choice when it is 3-4-3 system, so he can be supported defensively by one center back among the 3.

ppl always say trents better in attack and reece better in defence but i think reece is literally better in both. reece's finishing is way more clinical and he has way more power and better goals per game, his crossing is just as good, and his crossing success is far better than trents.

Looking at this video I think the difference is that Arnold’s crosses are well finished by his attackers giving him the numbers but Reece’s crosses are not utilized by the attackers Overall James is Better than Arnold

@@imMusicianPES Trent crossing better by far. The way Chelsea played under tuchel would allow Reece to go central more and would offer him the option of shooting more . Trent is way more clinical and creates them from nothing and tbh I would say James reads the game better

RJ24 finishes like a striker, passes like a midfielder, defends like a CB and has a decent amount of pace. He's def better than Trent no cap. But Trent has better passing and crossing.

Trent creates magic. His touch and his passes are sublime. Reece is good, solid, predictable in his ball movement. Nothing special. We'll see what happens

James has a better touch with easily the best chest control in the world, he's quicker both top speed and that initial burst of acceleration, he's a better dribbler, he's more physical and a better defender in every sense, he's a better finisher, he's better at making overlaps and he's better at pens. Trent is a better free kick taker, he's better at switching the play, long balls and diagonals, he's got a better eye for a pass (that Messi like vision where he sees passes most people don't). And he's a better crosser but that's about it. And the thing is James also has world class passing ability as the video clearly showed. He's been passing to donkeys for years so they don't always get converted into assists but it's clear if you watch him his passes are on the money every single time. The thing that separates Trent is his vision and long passing. Those are the main things he has that James doesn't. If you value that over everything James has over him then fair enough but objectively James is the more well rounded player and would fit better in any system.

They should really be playing at the same time. James in the back, TAA in the midfield. But south gate is uninspiring and dull

@@redchampion If you actually watch, you’ll see James can defend much more assertively than trent. He has the strength and aggression to body attackers. And he can attack just as effectively as trent. The only thing trent has on him is the vision to play balls from deeper and being a dead ball specialist. Reece beats him or is even with him in everything else.

And considering James isn’t far behind Trent going forward, but is far better defensively, and considering they are DEFENDERS I don’t see your point. And if Trent is so much better going forward. Why did James have more G/A than Trent in 6 less games, coming back from injury? And consider that was in a team with a dysfunctional attack who couldn’t finish a meal and were 20 points off the top. Vs a team with lethal finishers 1 point of the top. The stats speak for themselves.
