This demonstrates it was the judging that changed the sport. Dorian did a good job of maintaining physique while packing on crazy amount of mass, but just becomes out of control to maintain a good physique

He trained on purpose with a double-split routine morning & night, which by today's would be overtraining. He could of had bigger legs & bigger back if he continued to train beyond 1974. 1975 he was lighter to only compete to film Pumping Iron & 1980 should have never came back from retirement. Yes his leg were smaller that year.

Exactly natural limits for Ronnie Coleman are not the same as natural limits for, well, the rest of mankind. And yeah, I know that Ronnie and his "negative body fat" can be quite unreliable sometimes, but a lot of people can get quite salty about what's natural and what's not.

@@Nirsterkur Bigger isn't always better. Arnold looked good every year. 1980 was his worst, but even then I had him winning. I've got all the magazines from back then, and Arnold just towered over everyone. Dickerson and Zane also looked great, but the size difference was too much!!

I agree Arnold and Ronnie, two Goat's of Bodybuilder ever! Also Arnold as Ronnie's fav and I agree Arnold if he followed the standard of size for Ronnie's era might very well have taken Ronnie, and thats Ronnie talkin! Any yeah if Ronnie is natty here as he claims as well as Flex and others then he has truly awesome Genetics! The FDB of Arnold is prob my fav version of that pose for anyone at any time. I'm a mega fan of Arnold 75 & 74

I'd say if you're mentioning Arnold, you have to mention Lee Haney and Phil Heath too. Arnold was super popular and he made bodybuilding popular but tbh there are guys comparable to him or even better in terms of the physique relative to their time period. And as far as Ronnie's natural status goes, I believe him. He's smaller, softer and less conditioned than Arnold even with such a freaky genetics as his... and Arnold was on gear for sure. So for his genetic standards, this physique looks natural for Ronnie.

Lee Haney should be in the top 2. As great as Ronnie was, he was out of shape his last few years. Haney was ALWAYS in shape, and had the best V taper. Maybe he didn't have the biggest arms, but he was a top Mr. Olympia, right after Arnold.

besides his very small waist i dont rly see his better genetics than Arnold but his Vtaper was rly godlike i agree. But waist is not everything, arnold had much better biceps peaks and separation in the arms, better chest and calves. They are close tho but i just like Arnie better :)

What about the calves? Also Arnold's quads are good in these pictures for separation and shape with such long inner insertions. Best overall development goes to him comparing these versions.

It doesn’t matter since Ronnie had the waist small enough to get along with the calves. It’s a thing of symmetry and proportions in which Arnold was never good at, and early Ronnie was excellent.

It really is hard to believe that early Ronnie was natural (because it looks so unbelievable), but if there was ever a SINGULAR, OUTLIER, 1 out of the entire human population/gene pool case where a person could look like early Ronnie without PEDs (or even low dose PEDs) it would be Ronnie right? I mean the man is the single greatest bodybuilder of all time (G BOAT)...If early Ronnie was like that natural and then took PEDs and food more intensively, it makes sense that he would become the G BOAT that he did... It could kindaaa make sense? We're talking about the best bodybuilding genetics OF ALL TIME (like literally numero uno) + BBC + powerlifter and police officer...But still, none of us can ever know for sure if early Ronnie was 100% natural (I'd still be impressed even if it was a low or regular dose). The dude gained like 102lbs and shredded down to 3% bf (which except for Andreas Munzer is probably the lowest bf ever achieved at that time and is way leaner than he is here which means offseason he would've gained even more weight) in his later years. You can't do that if you've already been juicing for a while. Look at him in 1998-2005 and get back to me

Ronnie looks better here then Arnold, but Ronnie will never have Arnold's pecs.

Ronnie makes Sergio a Classic Physique: 5" bigger Chest/Back 2" bigger Guns 6" bigger Wheels. When it comes to the waist: Sergio: 27" the smallest waist of Any Mr. O Ronnie: 36" ('03 onwards), 29" back in 93" (same as prime Frank Zane). It would be a Great comparison. But which version of Ronnie should be use? - 98/99 version - 03 onwards version, or - early days version (please check MMMs Ronnie v. Frank Zane video).

Arnold for me won this one since he is ripped everywhere and also his biceps and arms are better than coleman and his chest too. Abs goes to Arnold as well the back Arnold was better in the lower half and coleman is better in the upper half so its a tie there. Coleman got only legs and triceps on Arnold since they train for that nowadays. But overall symmetry and proportions goes to Arnold his the winner here.

Flex was also 100kgs at arnold 93 where he won, that means he was natty? Nasser admited to take ~5grams of test in prep and ronnie was so special that he was 100kgs ripped on creatine only xD

I always thought Arnold was over rated, he was gifted at least three Olympia titles. Ronnie was under rated in his earlier competitive years and over rated in his later competitive years. He had gyno for most of his Olympia career and his posing was terrible, raise the roof and all that garbage.
