Solcher Gesang, solche Komposition, solche wortlosen Bilder empfinde ich als die einzige Möglichkeit, FRIEDEN zu fordern. Nicht aggressives Trommeln, kein Schreien, keine Beschimpfungen. Frieden als Stille, Trauer und Liebe im Ton. Danke für dieses mir bisher nicht bekannte Werk von Schönberg.

I remember doing this with the St. Olaf Choir in 1982, hating it the first readthru, but by the time the semester was done, being totally enamored with it and it became one of my favorite songs ever. Yes, it was *hugely* demanding to memorize and perform.

My experience also. The most rewarding piece to first struggle through and finally sing.

I had the opportunity to sing as Bass with Rundfunkchor Berlin during their tour collaboration in Indonesia back in 2015 (cant believe it has been 8 years!), alongside several other college choirs, including my own Universitas Padjadjaran Choir. One of our repertoire pieces was the challenging Friede Auf Erden, we were so confused with the atonality of the piece, we never perform such music. But with the help of Nicolas Fink, we were able to master it through his guidance and interpretation. This was an incredible learning experience for me, and when we finally performed the song, I felt like it was the pinnacle of my musical journey. The emotional climax of the piece at 7:50 even brought me to tears, as it felt like the summary of my life up to that point. I feel incredibly grateful to have met Nicolas Fink and the Rundfunk Choir group, and it was an experience of a lifetime. Since then, I've graduated and moved from Indonesia to Berlin for work!! I still hope to meet with Herr Fink again someday. If you're reading this, Nicolas Fink, I would love to see you in Berlin!

So grateful for the performance of this piece. It requires the careful attention of excellent singers and conductor. When amateurs or other less capable choruses attempt it, there is so much screeching and caterwauling. It really damages the laypersons understanding of Schönberg. My deepest thanks for this gift.

Отличное произведение для хора. Я не разбираюсь в хоровой музыке , но это явно интересно.

Da muss man schon mehrfach hinhören, damit man auch wirklich alle Tonlagen findet.
