I watched Arnie run at Cordova many times back in the early 60's. Always raced Pontiacs. That was a lifetime ago.

Arnie Beswick is a Pontiac legend. We get Christmas cards from him even. he is so nice. it is a shame he crashed a while back.

I was at Coles Co. Dragway in Illinois years ago when Arnie made a trip down its 1/8 miles strip. He had a young boy with him, (part of make a wish program) and he was suppose to make a mild pass with the boy. After a couple of Great Burn Outs, he nailed it and made a strong pass. That young boy had a smile from ear to ear, it was a ride he never forgot.....

I remember watching Arnie back in 1964-65 when he was campaigning that (mostly steel) '64 GTO with the blown & injected 421" Pontiac motor. Having been a Chevy (a.k.a. GM) guy from 1963 I loved the fact that guys like Arnie ran the GM motors instead of the (obvious) hemi-head Chryslers.

the things that I remember most about Arnie Beswick,is how nice he is,and how fast he would back up after doing his burnouts!

I listed some racing parts for sale in the local Quad Cities newspaper in 1988. I was surprised when Arnie showed up to buy the new never used 8-71 Blower/manifold/gears/belt. I had it listed for about 1/2 price. I sold it cheap because I thought who is going to want a blower setup for a Pontiac motor.

I met Mr Beswick at ATCO Dragway in NJ back in the 90's. He was very cordial...especially after I told him I had raced a GTO myself. He was a very nice man to me and my son.

One word...AWESOME!!!!

I saw him race live at Farmington N.C. Dragway back in 1967. Good old days!

I got to see him run last year at the Summit Motorsports park in Akron. Was pretty awesome to say the least.

I personally know Arnie he's an amazing man me and my dad live near Arnie and bought hay from him

I saw Arnie many times at Great Lakes Dragway in Union Grove Wisconsin... my favorite was him and Dick Harrell

Talked to Arnie at his farm drove in with my 2006 GTO with a built up motor and a blower on it, new tec but he was very interested we were both under the hood..............very cool.

When I was racing back in the late sixties at Capitol Raceway I towed Arnies orange car back after a run.

Lots of memories...My Father Dave McGrane he raised up like a son. Many nostalgia races in the 90's...all in good fun. Breaks my heart he passed in 06 not knowing his incredible legacy. Arnie just as incredible. Yrs gone by to fast. God bless Stacey.

We pitted next to him when we ran pro-stock. Had a great time talking to him! Great guy!

i gotta believe the year was 1968 but I'm not sure.Arnie had the Tameless Tiger and had problems.he pulled the backup Black Primer 63 Lemans off the trailer and made a hard pass.blew the motor about 300 feet out and a piece of rod cap caught a girl standing by the fence watching in the head.spread oil for another 400 feet.took 1/2 hour to clean up the track and cart the girl off to the hospital.it was tragic but will always stick out in my mind.Arnie is my champion!Circa US 131 Dragway.

arnie is a great racer, person and friend of mine. myhouse is lying, he does not have the real grocery getter. anyway, he is a true legend!

Yep it was aanother driver in the white car,I mention it in the vid but after I watched it it does seem like I mean Arnies in the car.........But thats him getting it into the burnout box and staged up........Lets see some Pics of the Mystery Tornado!

I knew Arnie, before and after the fire. I worked for Luke Petit....what an asshole that guy was, anyway. I would stay after work and repair and service the truck he towed the car with. I worked for free. Well, I do have a shirt he signed and gave to me. He was a good guy. I know this car in the video. I helped push it in and out of the shop when they worked on it. I never worked on the race car...not a responsibility i wanted. Arnie asked me to come on the road with him and work on the car full time. I had a family and didnt want to travel. I have always felt guilty that someone left some fuel lines loose, like maybe i made the wrong decision. Arnie is a hell of a guy. he is down to earth and loves race fans and kids as much as race cars.

I was at wentzville track when his nitrous bottle blew up in his car and Arnie and his car went up in flames, he was literally melting it was horrible

Mike, you must have had your head up you know where. Pontiacs ran very well on the strip and race tracks.
