    What does Physical Comedy mean?

  • @lucasharvey8990

    @lucasharvey8990

    @@redscorpion9325 Physical comedy is all of the actual physical movement on the stage. It's the difference between listening to an audio clip and watching a video. When someone speaks with a stereotypical gay voice they do the flashy stereotypical gay sort of walk and whatnot. That sort of thing. Or when Bill Burr is telling a story and is scrunching up his face to better get his points across.

    @@redscorpion9325 when comedians discuss physical comedy, they use the term ‘act-outs,’ where instead of conveying a situation with only words, they ‘physically’ become the characters. Brian Regan is another example - where his physical face and movements as each character is a huge part of the humor. Katt Williams has some legendary act-outs too.

    When I first saw Arnez J on Def Comedy Jam I thought he was going to be huge, his set was definitely top 10 all time. Just shows you that in America it doesn't matter how talented you are, it only matters if people like you or not. Kevin Hart is funny as hell, but he wouldn't even make my top 50 comedian list at all. He got so popular via social media, he acknowledge the power of that platform and used it very well. Now he's gotta be the highest grossing comedian ever but nowhere near close to the what top 50?

    well, that's your opinion, see - and you're entitled to it. Everyone's top 50 will be different and I'm sure there are a lot of people who would put Hart in their top 10 let alone top 50. Doesn't matter how they got popular - he still had to be funny. There's no UNFUNNY comic that is super popular and highest grossing.

    Daz doesn't like musical comedy, I'm wondering if he'd like comedy music, like Steel Panther or Wheeler Walker Jr. or something. It's proper music, but it's fuckin hysterical.

    Forgive me y’all, but I have to confirm… Not with all, but only with a few. I work at the airport at the counter. When some folks come in to check in, OMG! I can’t say anything. They’re going to be shut up on a plane for 10 hours. Heaven help the poor soul next to them, I always say. It’s other nationalities as well. I did ask my boss if we can’t say anything because of how irritating the smell might be to someone else. She said we can’t.

    I think Daz might like Stephen Lynch as a musical comedy act. If that doesn't work nothing will.

    The fact that you guys just said musical comedy is tame and then used BO BURNHAM as an example…. He’s definitely on the edgier/darker side boys. And the undisputed goat of musical comedy
