You nailed that 😅. Have you noticed that the BEST rockers are from the 80's and the 90's, esp (grunge)? Or is that me? I thought most of the big 80's hits were thin and sort of tin like in depth . That didn't apply to the big gunners of rock!

I was born in 1967. I was a big fan of Journey from junior high school to high school, and about 7-8 years ago, when I was going through the hardest time in my life, I found out about Journey with Arnel on vocals, and it really helped me. I send you my biggest thanks!

Ross, the great bassist, Deen Castronovo -the ever great drummer, and backup singer, and the super-duper star frontman of Journey-- Arnel Pineda !! ! What a great stage performance of AP-- the huge crowd ->>in awe of his singing abilities and energy! Hats off !!! I was very tired after watching this video, clapping with a smile and satisfaction of the whole Journey team- performance! - most especially Arnel-- with great tenor perfect pitch vocals !! Bravo Arnel ! Oh, well, this was a 2009 video that I just have seen today. (Feb 2022 ) After 2009, I have seen Journey Concert on LIVE Tour Concert with AP many times-- and it was just incredible each time! Let me copy paste some excerpts from Deen Castronovo’s interview in 2015: 👌👍🏻💪🥁🥁🥁 “If you look at Arnel, he's the most amazing frontman ever. So I'm taking a cue from all these guys and learning. I'm not just sitting back there playing my drums, I'm watching.” Deen also talked about how Arnel stepped in and became the lead singer of JOURNEY in late 2007 after JOURNEY guitarist Neal Schon stumbled upon a clip featuring then-unknown Pineda performing with his cover band at the Hard Rock Cafe in the Philippines. "He came in and he humbly accepted that part and I believe he had sold it. The kid is just amazing. I call him a kid, 'cause he's three years younger than me, but he's not a kid. From Texas. This is one the best, IF NOT THE BEST, concerts you’ve ever done. The crowd was really enjoying it. The play list was great. The band magnificent. Arnel, WOW. No words. This is 2022 and I still watch this one often. There are other videos out there of this concert but this one is the best. PS, “One More”, best song ever.

His vocal tone has some grit and raspiness which sounds more like a rocker's voice than Steve Perry's which is softer or lighter,.

This is my favorite performance of Arnel of all. His energy and heart are beyond and above superb. TRULY A rocker at his best. Journey's series of concerts in Hawaii with Arnel in 2009 were also exhilarating to the max. I wish full videos of those concerts be available online. Long hair suited him. He really rocked. I love this as Arnel was fresh, as time went on he strained his vocals but I saw them about four times during this period and then in Sturgis up on the stage area just 4kin great!

One of Arnel Pineda's best performances, he is magnificent, he is still is. And that great stage presence and that soaring voice. The five of the Journey members were all there, then, they have had the best chemistry. Today in Sept 2022 concerts, Ross Valory is not with the group. Arnel Pineda must adore his music mates. All the Journey icon songs, I think he already mastered it since he has been singing those songs for a long long time, he's also a huge fan of Journey band! In one of the interviews, he even brought all along his Journey CD collections to US for autograph during his audition!
