I've seen before that people describe the 3 rappers like this: J-Hope raps with his body (all the energy comes from his passionate physicality), RM raps with his mind (his genius lyricism and ability to convey his thoughts through words), and Suga raps with his heart (his own experiences, traumas, and emotions).

I'd say Rm's Flow has an educating feel, it's commanding and makes you pay attention to the information he's delivering. Whereas Suga's style to me is very cutting, there's a sense of danger no matter the message being conveyed, it puts you on high alert with no choice but to pay attention. I just want to add that to me J-Hope's flow brings a sense of familiarity and comfort, even when he's spitting fire there's an underlying calm and relaxing atmosphere. They're all so talented and unique I love them so much💜

These are some of their older songs. They started with no more dream. Plus you have to remember these guys were all born in the 90's so that's probably all they heard at first growing up. If you listen to V he loves the classic Ella Fitzgerald,Louis Armstrong, Billy Holliday. He likes stuff that's even to old for me. Reason I hate are plenty, but no.1 is when you have talents and you botched it, you don’t deserve it, so pass it to someone else who needed the spotlight. I wasn’t the only one though, my cousin who introduced kpop to me, also heard No More Dreams, but to this day, she still doesn’t want hear other songs than MV’s done by them. How to say this, I expected so much more from them even from the very beginning.

I've said this in another video too, but this is the best way I can describe them so I'll just c+p the whole thing here. Also, there's a bit about Hobi here: RM, the leader, is very intellectual in his rap: he uses extensive wordplay, and his lyrics draw from literary metaphors, idioms, and Korean cultural references. He observes, analyses, and criticizes the world through rap. His sound is aggressive but calm at the same time. Suga, on the other hand, is visceral and raw-- more emotional, almost as if he's lashing out, but also empowering and comforting. His lyrics are introspective, vulnerable, and unfiltered. Over the years, he has calmed down a bit, but he never lost the heartbreaking, cathartic feel he brings with his rap. He is also one of the fastest rappers you'll hear these days. J-Hope, a dancer, shapes his rap like he would his choreography. He has swag, and a joyfulness in his rap that might be odd to hear in a hiphop/rap track, but it works for him. His flow is also a bit more dynamic, a bit more melodic than the other two-- perhaps because of his background in dance. His sound reflects his name: hopeful and positive. They're made of pure talent, these three.

RM’s style is commanding and intellectual, he’s the kind of rapper that could cuss you out and you’d say thanks, because it’s too smooth. His flow switches are crazy and he uses the deep tone of his voice. His verses are often filled with cultural refs and word play that’s kind of hard to translate. SUGA is the nasty type, he doesn’t take any shit. He spits his words, and relies on speed. Stylistically, his tone is often angrier than the other two, but they’re very versatile. Opposed to RM, his pronunciation isn’t as clear, but more laid back and ‘too cool for this shit’. His verses are more straightforward, he kind of bites the phrases. J HOPE is a dancer, and was heavily influenced by the other two as a rapper, so he developed a signature sound with both bite and coolness, and has a very distinct voice. He doesn’t quite have Suga’s speed or RM’s wordplay, but his flows are as seamless as his dancing. Whereas the other two are noticeably old school influenced, j hope has a more modern sound to him, a bit more melodic. His lyrics are mostly encouraging, he’s the ‘hype man’. His verses tell his story, pump up the other boys and are almost always, as Suga once said, the glue that ties their songs together. A purple heart from an ARMY 💜

I'd say that Suga's rap is very raw, Joon has a US- influenced swag, & Hobie's smoooooth. & I DEEPLY miss early BTS' 90's hip hop songs. For ME, it's the rap line's core identity, especially Suga & RM, & their best hip hop songs era, & I'll forever be sad that they struggled so much to get recognition at that time, that they had to change their music style & add more modern influences to finally get popular. Of course it's a normal & à good thing to be open & to evolve but a part of me will never stop wondering how their discography would be if their hip hop albums had been successful. Maybe I'd still feel connected to their music now. I'll love BTS for ever but the 2 MOTS albums don't match my taste

they just wanna try something new, and im sure one day theyll bring something new again or back with their own style , they got popular maybe on wings to LY era, but the one they got recognize because army nonstop introduce their deep lyric, and more army trying to know their old song because they use again for their intro or title , but we stillcant said theyre fully accepted by western music industries or korean industries, they even not havin support by radioplay, its sad, but if u realize they still treat as alien sometimes, korean said they to western but western keep saying them as kpop, but kpop community never look them since beginning. thats why they said their genre is bts, they make their own place which no one said they must be this or that, my fave album is wings even i know ly first 💜 till now their old song still on my playlist💜 its interesting to watch them grown up and im alwys wait what music they bring next ,, and please keep support them

I might think slightly different. SUGA and RM might start with raw and wild R&B but they have developed over years while they grew up. I do not think they changed for more popular or pop to the listeners' taste but they do evolve from what they listen, absorb, experience, broaden ears in order to design mood and tone of their songs in each era. I do not agree with repeating what they used to be . I respect them to challenge themselves in the very famous time with new styles, they do not play safe as some other popular artists.

You have to know that the songs they played here are their old songs (2013/2014) and at that time they were in the 90's vibes (but the first song "No more dream" they played has been remixed in acoustic specially for Armypedia, the original version is not the same at all). Also you have to see the "Suga cam" version of Armypedia if you want to see them being themselves (aka running, loud, funny babies) have a good day !

Their vocal ranges and tones are so distinct that each voice can stand alone or sing solo. Yet, they are more beautiful and powerful when blended together. #Jin's expressive, a story teller #Jimin's angelic and pure. #V's deep and soulful. #JK's captivating and earthy. The 90s was certainly a golden era for music all around, not confined only to soul/R&B music. That was also the time where indie rock bands flourished and produced sub-genres like alternative rock, grunge, punk, nu-metal, etc. Those who followed groups like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, Soundgarden, etc would typically keep the same playlists right until today like I do because you just don't hear that kind of music on the airwaves anymore. Which is a darned shame because similarly to BTS, those songs were made largely in a reflection of the society that existed back then, and how the youth of that generation were coping with them.

These songs are from their first albums "2 Cool 4 Skool" ( *No more Dream* and *Like* ) and "Skool Luv Affair" ( *Just one day* ). You have to check their debut mv *"No more dream"* and their old albums If you want to hear more of their 90's/old school vibes.

These songs are songs from the beginning. They were debut songs, those songs are what you call old but gold bts songs. I remember how everyone was shocked to hear just one day, it's a beautiful song, because if you don't remember bts started out as a hip hop group so the song just one day surprised many because it was a song where you could here the vocalists and rap line separately. If only we can go back to those times where they just started out and had no idea what was ahead of them, all those times where they had nothing and had hardships to make their bond stronger, of course I am upset because the had a difficult past, but I have to be appreciative because those times is what made them family. And now we can look back at these songs and sing them happily.

There isn't enough J hope's rap. If you know J hope's rap style, React Hope world(Daydream,Base line, Airplane, Pop, Hangsang, 1 verse etc.) He has different style with Rm, Suga.

Suga attacks the beat - agressive and always ready to adapt to the character of the song, rm is a classically trained rapper- he has studied the masters and you can’t criticize because you feel like he knows so much more than you, j-hope be straight up modern- flowy and incorporates a lot of melodic line into his bars

Yes I agree R&B in the 90s is really dope and the boys were all born in the 90s probably why it's influence is deeply rooted in their subconscious. My take on the writing style of the rap line is RM writes to analyze and provide an alternate point of view - he is the intellectual writer, the charismatic political speaker type that tells you what you need to see or hear. SUGA writes to incite emotion and he speaks his mind in the rawest way possible thus the abrasive and gritty quality of his lyrics. It is intentional for him to make you bleed so your feeling connects in full with his words. He tells you how to process your feelings. While j-hope writes to let you know there is hope, that there is always a way out, he always paints the bigger picture to provide his listener a map. He gives you directions and options. That is why their raps always completes the story in a song.

RM-his raps use the full power of his prodigious mind, almost any one of them seems like a Hamlet´s Soliloquy, a declaration of the heart through the mind. Suga-such an incredible storyteller, uses timing and raw voice power to create unusual characters that make emotional commentary, all through a very driven, sometimes humerous but very swag, sexy rhythmical structure. He´s hilarious, and mean, and desparate, and devastating, He´s a helluva dancer, and its his rhythms that are often driving the group dances even., Happy birthday Min Suga, I love you. JHoooooooooooope. masters very complex and unsual rhythmic sequences, the emotions swirl around those in interesting ways that feel danced also, very physical, driven, extreme. Also really funny, he´s part sunshine, part a tornado just waiting to happen. We need all of it. Love these three guys so much, such unusal talents they have gifted us with.

RM is the main reason for the 90s feel. He is a HUGE fan of 90s rap, it's the era that got him to fall in love with rap in the first place. As you already know, he plays a large role in the creation of their sound. Suga = Eminem style (speed and aggressiveness) RM = 90s infused (laid back but with a lyrical flow)

I agree that r&b was popping back in that time. That’s one of the reasons I fell for bts. A lot of their stuff sounded like r&b and it sucks a lot of people don’t realize their music sounded predominately mature like this back then. Of course their music now is great too, they’re just exploring other genres and styles that’s very different than what they put out in the past. I love the bts from the past and the bts in the present

For me I think RM rap beat is comforting and chill. There's something relaxing in his voice and music that makes you just want to close your eyes but also pays attention to every single second of it. Suga's is more aggresive and raw. The music he creates sounds like he is demanding you to listen and understand what he says but also filled with emotions. While J-Hope's is pop-y that makes you just want to dance and move your body along the with the song. I think their voice is also an important part of how their rap sounds. RM's voice has this confidence and comfort, Suga sounds deep and harsh while J=Hope sounds like he's just happy all the time.
