Baekhyun is my ULTIMATE BIAS across all of KPOP, and EXO is my ULTIMATE GROUP. If you enjoy slower songs/beats then EXO Bsides will have you hooked. They really show off their amazing vocals. Chanyeol is my second bias in EXO. He is handsome and that deep voice, although he is the main rapper, wait til you hear him sing. You also have noticed that EXO really has no visual holes, they are all handsome. Enjoy our boys, you will soon see why we love them so much!

Now that you have seen the EXO and X-EXO version of EXO's "Obsession @the stage" performance, you also should watch the @The Stage (EXO & X-EXO ver.) performance. There was actually a third video created from these performances. Just like in the MV, when you see the members in the black outfits they are EXO the good guys, and when you see the members in bright colored clothing with wild hairstyles and crazy makeup they are EXO's alter ego clones. Therefore, in the EXO & X-EXO version you will see how they created a really cool mashup of the two performances to show EXO and X-EXO battling for control. Fun fact: Shindong from Super Junior -- a member of one of SM Entertainment's senior groups -- and his production company were the ones that directed this whole performance and video shoot. (Shindong and his company are also the ones that produce all of SM's @the stage videos.) Something fun about this performance was that in the behind shooting footage, we see that EXO members kept up the act between the EXO and X-EXO stages and when they interacted with the audience in between the performances they pretended to be EXO during the EXO stage and they were their X-EXO characters during the X-EXO version. LOL Even behind the sense they keep up their characters and storyline. :D EXO's live "Obsession" performance is a live recording of their performance. Not only is their dancing amazing, but they are also singing live the whole time. It may be hard to believe because their vocals are so stable while performing this intense choreography, but as an SM Entertainment artist they have been training their whole career to build endurance and stamina in order to be able to sing live and continue to sound flawless while performing in concert for 3+ hours. That is one of the reasons why SM is known as the vocal powerhouse of the industry, because they put a huge emphasis on finding and developing amazing vocalists. Even SM's rappers get intense vocal training -- on top of being impressive rappers, most of SM's rappers could fill in as main vocalists as well.

What you saw in the "Obsession" MV was that EXO's doppelgangers were actually their alter ego clones and they were using their superpowers, such as Chanyeol with his fire power, Sehun uses his wind power to deflect the arrows, Baekhyun uses his power of light as a saber in the fencing battle, and Suho (the one with red hair) controls water in the room with all the pictures of water, etc. to fight their other selves. You see the planet on fire in the end of the MV because it's supposed to show how the world is coming to an end as EXO (the good guys in all black) and X-EXO (the evil ones in the colorful outfits with crazy hair and makeup) battle for control, etc. (Each of the members are playing 2 different characters.) X-EXO has been created by the evil Red Force and EXO and X-EXO are fighting each other. EXO are trying to prevent X-EXO from taking over and corrupting humanity and X-EXO are trying to stop EXO from finding the Tree of Life and putting the two halves back together and restoring peace, etc. In the "Obsession" MV there are only 6 members -- Suho, Baekhyun, Chen, Chanyeol, Kai and Sehun -- because 2 of the members -- D.O. and Xiumin -- are on hiatus during this comeback as they serve in the military; and due to the political issues between the Korean and Chinese government, Lay -- their Chinese member -- was unable to participate in activities with the group. So each new MV or project from EXO tells another part of the story, and over the years we fans have started to create a timeline and idea of what we think each part of the story is telling us. However, the introduction of "Obsession's" part of the story really threw all of our theories for a loop and it has made us question everything we have ever thought was happening in EXO's storyline. The MV starts out with the red and blue light because it's supposed to represent how EXO are currently battling with X-EXO and the Red Force for control. In EXO's MVs when you see red light or anything that is red, this represents the Red Force, and when you see blue light or anything that is blue, this is thought to represent EXO. Therefore, when you see red and blue in one scene or purple -- red and blue mixed together make purple -- this is showing how the line between the two sides is being blurred and they are fighting each other, etc. Since "Obsession" some think maybe EXO has been trapped somewhere from the very beginning and it has been X-EXO that we have been following all along. But I think it's still even more complex than that. I think at times we have been watching EXO and at times we have been watching X-EXO -- with the release of "Obsession" we have only just discovered that the story hasn't necessarily been showing EXO the whole time. With the new information provided to us through "Obsession," it also makes me question how Lay fits within the X-EXO/EXO storyline. Maybe he is one of the members who has been able to break free or avoid the Red Forces' control. In Lay's solo MV for "Sheep," the Allen Walker relift version, we see everything burning outside as if an apocalypse is happening. Maybe "Sheep" is showing us the planet burning from Lay's viewpoint, like we see the world burning at the end of the "Obsession" MV. Also, I believe that the storyline in "Obsession" is connected to SuperM's debut "Jopping" MV storyline. If you pay attention to what Baekhyun and Kai were wearing in "Obsession," those outfits are very similar to the black outfits that Baekhyun and Kai are wearing in the "Jopping" MV. Kai is even wearing the same backpack parachute in both MVs. Which seems to be SM Entertainment's way of making sure we see the connection between those MVs. So it is thought that, as part of SuperM's storyline, EXO has gathered the best of the best of SM's groups -- EXO, Taemin/SHINee, NCT/WayV -- to help them battle the Red Force and maybe eventually take down X-EXO. Just like the Marvel Avengers come together as individual superheroes with their own storylines to create the Avengers and to fight evil, it is thought that SuperM is coming together to create the ultimate supergroup to help EXO fight the evil and corruption inflicted on humanity by the Red Force. Unfortunately, to make it even more difficult to understand, each part of the story is not necessarily in chronological order, so we as EXO-L (EXO fans) have to become detectives and analyze every aspect of all of their teasers, MVs, song lyrics, albums, concert VCRs, choreography and even live performances and piece it all together to understand the story behind it all. And not only are EXO's and SuperM's MVs and storylines connected, but pretty much all of SM's groups have storylines and concepts that connect together, which is designed to become part of one giant graphic novel or movie in the SM Culture Universe. To help you pinpoint the powers being used in EXO's MVs and live performances, here is a list of the members and what their special power is. EXO-K 💦 Suho (Kim JunMyeon) is the leader of the group and he is a lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control water (Fun fact: Suho in Korean means guardian, as in the guardian of EXO. That's why as the leader of EXO, his stage name is Suho.) 💡Baekhyun is a main vocalist and his superpower is the ability to control light 🔥Chanyeol is the main rapper and lead vocalist -- his power is the ability to control fire and his spirit animal is the phoenix. 🌏D.O. His power was the ability to control time (Tao ended activities with EXO in August 2015.)

Obsession has 2 meanings. 1. The fight between x-exo (dark versions of exo, created by the red force to destroy the world, they are the ones with colorful clothes) and exo (normal exo, with black clothes that tried to protect the world). (Storyline meaning) 2. The fight between exo and their dark parts (like the egos, etc)

I don’t know why, but he calls to me a LOT honestly. I feel like I’ll fall in love with the members when I get to know them and I get the feeling that Baekhyun is going to climb all the way to my (for now tiny) list of ults 🫣

First when I started listening to KPOP iwas into fast paced songs but when I heard EXOs slow song which randomly popped up on my feed which was (runaway) damn my preferences changed. The vocals and harmonies really did their magic on me. Oce you hear their slow songs, ballads you will really fall for them.

I honestly like a little bit of everything. Like, I’m not a rap fan but I LOVE some rap heavy songs (say, from Yoongi who’s my ult bias). HOWEVER I do tend to gravitate towards slower paced songs, melody-driven. And with the gorgeous vocals I’ve been hearing from this guys, I’m sure that I’ll love many, many of their songs and fill my playlist with them 🥰

Obsession is reaching back into the depths of EXO darker concepts, EXO returns by facing off with their evil and sinister halves, the X-EXO. The song focuses on wanting to get away from the nightmares, the negativity and the people who are causing such pain and distress.

EXO is the group with the most legendary concept in Kpop and EXO is the first group to have a concept in Kpop. EXO’s concept is they are Aliens from an EXO planet, their planet got destroyed and they came to earth, they all have powers (like wind, light, water, ice, fire, unicorn) and EXO’s anemy Red Force wants to steal it. They live in parallel universes but get together during ab eclipse. Their MVs are interconnected. Their latest music video in Obsession they have been cloned by the Red Force and the real EXO is fighting against their own clowns X-EXO. Their all the MVs, concert VCRs and album teasers are connected and are telling a part of the story. When they were still attending the awards shows the VCRs before their performances were a part of that too

just a suggestion, maybe watch the EXO concept guide first. since you have a lot of questions about their lore. i think Cesar Oh has a playlist about it. if you like slower songs, check out their winter albums. or maybe do an album listen since they have a lot of slower b-sides. fun fact: during the Obsession promos, Chen was sick & it's mind blowing that he can still hit those high notes so well. btw, xiumin was so jealous that he wasn't able to do this w/ them that he has his solo version during his 1st fan meeting. wished you saw the Obsession log too. you'll see how funny & chaotic they are during their dance practice.

im not entirely sure about this but i think the clones exist in the same universe and also exists in the alternate ones...so they are battling face to face technically... the line on x-baekhyun face is actually an injury from being slash by baekhyun in the fight..so he wears like accessory chain to cover it hahahah also u talked about how chanyeol and x-chanyeol stayed on different sides...actually chanyeol lose to x-chanyeol thts why his side is higlighted red (significant to their enemy red force) and out of all members chanyeol clearly lose the fight with his clone this is not spoilers im just explaining the mv...thanks for checking them out tho!!

(just a suggestion) I saw a KZreadr did a journey with each EXO member (1 member 1 video). He started with Cesar Oh guide for each member, then dive into each member solo work or video. Example Baekhyun guide, Baekhyun solo album title song UN Village, Candy, Get You Alone, Bambi. It's difficult to do their music show live performance as it always get block but I think it's ok to react to EXO Seoul concert live stage solo performance.

Check next Universe . You can listen Chanyeol singing. The mv is aesthetically pleasing and the songs is just beautiful. I don't think you will like watching the long guide because it has a lot, but a lot, of spoilers for songs. My suggestion is, because you said you prefer to connect with the artist though their personalities first and music second, watch exo Arcade season 1 and 2 and the manito game ( those aren't too long and you can react to them with no problems) then maybe you could consider go chronologically though albums. For example start with their debut album, watch the predebut teasers, ( you can skip the ones for ex members if you want) watch the 2 predebut songs "what is love" and "History", their debut song "mama" and then do lyric videos for the other 3 songs of that album ( angel, two moons and machine) then move to the next album and so on. That way you won't get spoiler and the guides will only add just a bit of extra info. Personally I think they are outdated and they have a lot of misinformation and a lot of real good info is missing. But that just my advice.

@@luzledo si es justo su primera presentación después del SM y D.O también es mi bias nomas no hay nada, aunque ahora en el fansig por el cumpleaños de XIUMIN les propuso hacer la coreografía de Obsession pero los chicos le dijeron nel, ni por su cumpleaños le dieron el gusto.

Since you are just starting out and did not want too much information, you might want to avoid the long comments telling you about storyline 😅 exo Ls are being helpful by giving you info but I could understand it can be overwhelming. Discover Exo at your own pace. No pressure. Happy that you are getting into Exo rabbit hole.

I will tell you this so you can piece together the storyline with your own theories, this is the blurp of the EXOplanet book. You have to know that EXO's concept is that they are Aliens with superpowers that were sent to earth by their Mama (majesty/ deity) to protect us from the evil of the red forces that try to destroy the heart of the tree of life and get EXO'S superpowers. In obsession EXO is fighting their evil clones that were made by the red forces. Each member has their unique superpower. Chanyeol is fighting X-Chanyeol with fire, that's his power. But Sehun is fighting X-Sehun with arrows and bow and X-Sehun is using his power Wind ( we don't know why Sehun couldn't use his power here) You probably should watch Mama ( their debut song) to be able to piece together the storyline. But you should know is not in order. Some Mvs seems to be continuations of each other like supposedly Lotto is a prequel to Monster and Lucky one a prequel to Overdose. But everything is just Fan theories. The only 2 mvs that explicitly "explain" their storyline are Mama intro and Power intro. ( their intro are in English even though their MVs don't have CC) EXO members superpowers: 💧Suho: Water ❄Xiumin: Frost/ Ice 🦄Lay: Healing 🌟BaekHyun: Light ⚡Chen: Thunder/ Lighting 🔥Chanyeol: Fire ☄D.O: Force/ Strenght/ Earth/ Gravity 🌀Kai: Teleportation 🌬Sehun: Wind If you prest attention you will see them use often in mvs or represented in the Choreography as well.

Their storyline…. There is no full story…….. where they begin is really not Known. . It is not in any order. It is a complete mystery!the lyrics of the MV’s and songs don’t match. You asking questions after this long dissertation about how you don’t want to know anything about the story line😆😂. It doesn’t have anything to do with members there and not in this video. ( Xumin and D.O. Is serving in the military) you will not figure it out even with EXO-L telling you because everything is mixed up and masked to keep everyone confused. Mystery is what keeps the storyline interesting, you are not supposed to figure it out… your theory is incorrect.
