red lights was directed by a well known director who goes by ‘novvkim’. hes worked with stray kids for a long time and has directed many of their most popular mvs. he is openly gay which is extremely brave as korea is still very conservative and not really accepting of queerness whatsoever. if you watch the fourth and fifth episodes of ‘howl in harmony’, he’s present in some of the bts clips during filming on the fifth ep. in the fourth ep, he is present the whole time to discuss the concepts of each unit mv along with another director

That's amazing!💜 Yeah unfortunately Korea is still very conservative.. It has progressed a tiny bit since I started my kpop and kdrama journey in 2011 but not much, unfortunately.

If you want to see more of Hyunjin's dancing, check out "Play with Fire". He choreographied a dance to it, and the performance video is lovely.

A funny thing about Red Lights is that the song itself isn't actually spicy... The Korean title is 'compulsion' and it's about their obsession with work. The music video uses a lot of mirrored imagery to represent their internal struggle, but Hyunjin and Chan directly asked Novvkim (the director of the MV) to make it 50-shades-esque, and he sure delivered. Ngl it's always funny to watch reactions to the song ! So it's kind of a rite of passage for Stray Kids reactors, lol.

Bwahahaha Red Lights is a masterpiece. It was my introduction to Skz actually and they've had me chained up ever since 😅 it's still my favorite Skz song. So the title for it in Korean is Compulsion. It's basically about their unhealthy obsession with work. Hence "set the mic up" and red light meaning that of a recording studio. Of course they also said it's open to interpretation. It was written by both of them, tho mainly Hyunjin. The lyrics were spicier apparently but Chan helped Hyunjin tone them down and did the english parts. Hyunjin also helped Chan produce this one. Taste was written by all three of them and produced by Chan, Felix,, Hyunjin and Lee Know. The last falsetto in Taste is actually Felix. He has a crazy vocal range. See his solo Deep End for more. Taste is definitely in top 10 for Skz.

Hyunjin said that when he created taste he had red lights in mind and it was almost a continuation of it. He is very creative and expressive and im glad he's becoming more confident in embracing that with such a great group to support and help him with advice, ideas and positivity. I love that this group has so much freedom and support within their own group to do solos and performances and play around in all sorts of different ways. JYP-E seems to be doing a better job of letting them be themselves.

Okay, watching you turn pinker and pinker throughout Red Lights made me laugh. Sorry. It was very funny to me. :) As a side note, Hyunjin and Chan were discussing filming Red Lights in a couple of different videos and Hunjin said in one of those that laying there and having Chan standing over him was... stimulating (I forget the wording used, but basically, he found it ... "stimulating".) 🤣

​@EbonRaven I thought Hyunjin was talking about the choking as being stimulating...either way, he enjoyed his experience a lot 😅 I love that they said it was even more risqué, but Chan had to tone it down a bit 😆

these songs🤣I hope you are enjoying listening to skz. actually skz have a reallyy good beside tracks that i love them more than titles😁 for example : cheese, Domino, Item, Charmer, megaverse, Hall of fame, superbowl, FNF, leave. and .. most of them have MVs (Domino's mv is so short but the hole song and the dance practice of that is awesome)

Amazing, sensual, gorgeous song and video. And very coolly they showed the essence of a toxic, abusive relationship, when you want to leave a person, and something holds you like chains next to that person, despite the fact that the relationship literally "suffocates" you (like Hyunjin and Ban Chan each other in the clip). I'm absolutely thrilled.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️

btw, for lyric videos i would recommend the color coded lyrics, that way you can see who is singing which part. Anyways, love your reactions

I'd also say exercise caution because some of them don't get who is singing correct all the time. (For example most taste lyric videos put Hyunjin as singing the last line exept one that correctly has Felix.)

All of them have spoken of Bang’s habit of staying up all night writing, producing, etc. I think, given what we know of the work ethics of the members, it’s clear this song is about their obsession to write, produce, practice, choreograph…
