The Assam Rifles have not acted as a neural force. Not accusing all of them, but some battalions have been found to assist kuki zomi terrorists and to have worked together with them - there is a lot of proof for this.

Many armed forces personnel did some atrocities during early 90s in kashmir so its evident it was happened in manipur too , armed forces is no sane , it has corruption matters pending , the patriotism angle is because people are eating the fruits of kargil war and 71 war ,other wise our armed forces has produced all kind of people who are discliplned too and corrupt as well.

Thank you Lt. Gen Panag for voicing his unbiased opinion on Manipur and the possible way to bringing in a situation where an actual talk for peace and plausible solution could start.

When you have a thousand children, you can't expect all of them to behave in a good manner, there will be some shitty children and to cover up the shitty deeds done by those shitty children you are blaming the people who points out the shitty deeds then you are not a good parent. You don't deserve to parent any children. When continuous deforestation is happening and poppy is planted in large scale in and around the Assam rifle camps and those areas under AFSPA what kind of protection they are giving to the people. They should take all the necessary actions against those people involved regardless of which community they belong, this some sections of Assam rifles are responsible for all the drugs coming in the mainland and destruction of our future generation into addiction, if you don't have anyone closed who is addicted to this drugs you will never know this pain and sufferings. Army is there to protect the people of a country and when the people lose faith in the army what is there to protect? Instead of asking why the people blocked the their path asked yourself why this people don't trust us??? What have the army done that the very people whom they are promised to protect doesn't trust them. One has to fathom to the bottom of this topic that Kukis started first this mayhem by attacking the Meitei community in those remote areas of Imphal vally adjoining the hills where Kukis also settle. Most importantly, Assam Rifles failed to give the security cover to those Meiteis who reside in the remote fringe areas of Imphal valley , Moreh and Churachandpur areas and those Meiteis were innocent , unarmed. They were under attack from the well armed Kuki Millitants. Now, the question is that Meitei women mobs come in the picture as it is one of the ways and means to save our community. If the Assam Rifles could guarantee the full security cover of the Meiteis, these mobs would never be there and even the mayhem could have been contained right in the first week of May itself. Assam Rifles didn't come in the full coordination with Manipur police right from the beginning. Instead of rather coordinating with it, It went on to the other side supporting the kukis which in the eyes of the Meiteis, started having hatred against them as it emboldened the kuki millitants to go on rampage attacking the innocent, unarmed Meiteis living in the remote areas adjoining the hills . Then this mayhem became a full blown one as we see today. So, the bottomline is that situation could have been much different if the Kuki millitants were not emboldened by Assam Rifles, right from the beginning. Also, just to educate a little bit here if other viewers are not aware already, Assam Rifles , as many people in Manipur used to think from the late 1990, were believed to be supporting the Kukis using them as a conduit in case of counterinsurgency in Manipur and now people tend to think that they are paying back in this manner, supporting them at this juncture. Thats the take from the Meitei community side. And also , there are so many reasons on the basis of geopolitical reasons why Kukis got support from the Indian Govt side as manipur borders Myanmar where some kuki related population is also there plus Indian paranoid about another big giant.

I think we must be truthful to d chain of events, leave aside political narratives. 1) never heard of a counter blocked by Meitei groups on 3rd, 2) the unprovoked attack n burning of Turbung, Bangla, n Kangvai villages by armed Kuki groups and then simulatneous burning of Meitei colonies in Churchandpur n Moreh are all there to see. 3) violence in Imphal was a retaliation of what had happened to these places 4) finally, why would Meitei groups who r fighting to safeguard state’s integrity want to pick a fight with Kuki groups to further their cause/break up the state. this narrative/logic is untenable!

So, does the Army need AFSPA when dealing with China as well?

Its not possibe as the CM is the main perpetrators of all the attacks and plan. Untill and Unless PR is imposed it will wont works

Assam Rifles are not regular army - they are paramilitary, MHA troops. Neither is CRPF. Where is the claim of Army policing coming from?

It's a fact that the Assam Rifles remained mute spectators while the villages were razed to the ground. The Assam Rifles danced with kuki women while the villages were burnt. In China army doesn’t need to interrogate civilians for information of terrorist .. it will be just a full out war … just because it is within our nation borders the army’s hands are tied at the back , otherwise u will not be able to live if the army is unleashed on you for what it is actually trained for..

Just because the kukis are there at every interviews, it doesnt mean that they are speaking the truth. The kukis have quarelled with every race, be so it assamese, paite, nagas, Tripuris, meitei, arunachalis. But they remain so innocent in the eyes of Assam Rifles and the army.

Kuki people weaponized SoO militants and the first fire, killing civilians , gangraping at gun point, burning, arson were all started by the kukis and then there was retaliation. At one point of time, there were exchange of people from both communities which was a point where dialogue could have begun but the kuki militants perpetuated the conflict with incessant firing and burning. These actions forced civilians to loot weapons because the armies have no order to shoot SoO kuki militants because of SoO agreement and assam rifles were their protectorate because of that. Internet was shut down for whole 3-4 months, there were reports on radio about misinformation and propaganda but the scale at which they have played the victim card was phenomenal, assailant and deplorable. Till this date , there will be comments that targets to spread misinformation, distorting facts. Pathetic scums.

@@chengkop4113 which part of what I said isn't true, is the state incapable of stopping violence, if so the the CM should have resigned on moral ground due to the fact that it failed in its duties to maintain law and order, on the contrary it was asleep or actively participating in the violence, not a single bullet fired and 4000 arms looted from the state armoury and some of you have the face to defend the state government.

Where were you when almost 70 percent of the hills of Manipur are damaged to plant poppy cultivation??????

Please don't make it a battle of meitei versus kuki, Hindu versus Christians, BJP versus congress, valley versus hills. Nothing like that. May 3 was the day when you could stop all these. You turned blind when the houses were being burned throughout the day and night. Later it was call RETALIATION in English language. We have to react, to fight, for survival, for truth. We simply cannot die just to make you happy. 😢

The manipur state government should be sacked and president rule should be imposed. Army should fully take control of security. All persons involved in the violence should be arrested soon and punished irrespective of positions.

Now only karma can find its way....too powerful for common voices to be heard unbiased....perhaps in a contestation there is nothing called unbiased...what is the TRUTH is a matter of the future. Counterinsurgency in the northeast is an interesting subject for a non-northeasterner to write bestselling books.
