The easiest way to beat this stage on hard difficulty is to choose where to attack or defend between the left and right route. The middle route should always be defended because it is acting as a route to both left and right route. In my gameplay I chose to attack on the right route and defended the left route. I put a few defenses on the right route just in case some enemies might have slipped through my assault.
