I never imagined those M16 rifles fired that fast and with a “pop-pop” sound, nor the muzzle flashes. Because I didn’t know. They didn’t sound like that in the movies on TV in the 70s. The green guys always won, though. 🙂

The old Marx 54MM plastic soldiers of all eras of History will always be the best molded. Marx Playsets were awesome. I had most of them as a kid and my favorite were the Marx Civil War sets. What is not generally known is that after practically wiping each other out in battle, survivors of the two opposing armies had to sign a truce and join forces to battle the invasion of giant hand-grenade sized ants, the beginnings of which can be briefly spotted in a scene.

And the lady finger firecrackers we went thru! Geez! You know, young, under 9, playing with a lighter and firecrackers! Ohh the memories! I think we were definitely smarter, and safer!

A Guns of Navarone battle would be epic.

This brought back so much nostalgia for me. I don't remember things before 16, I probably do not want to, but I don't. It was like a light in the corner of a room you hardly ever use anymore. As it fills with dust, a small lamp in the dim room playing a small scene from a lost time. Sadly, I also remembered when the light went out, and the room was walled off. Thank you for this video, I appreciate it. Truely it is under-rated. 😅 👍
