It is actually a very sexist song. He says in the chorus that he's tired living alone, he wants someone to cook for him; he's tired living alone, he wants his lover to do his laundry and keep him company because he's bored. He wants a wife because he doesn't want to cook for himself anymore or do any household chores. Unfortunately, many Malawian guys think this is a romantic song since it's a given to them that a wife has to slave away for them. They're so entitled and girls are encouraged to slave away for them without expecting any sort of acknowledgement let alone gratitude. Before a lady walks down the aisle she's subjected to all sorts of tests to see if she's "wife material" ready to serve her husband and be at his beck and call. We call it "mkomya" and if you don't cook or clean after him it's reason enough to divorce you pronto. It's so hegemonized in our culture, over 90% of Malawian women will listen to this song and think that it's actually very romantic that the guy is actually confessing to wanting them to come serve him. Something is very wrong with our culture in the way it views women and the expectations placed onto their heads
