Nagustuhan ko talaga style ng bahay ngg Armstrong family simple nga namn yet elegant at low maintenance.

As an Architect myself, I always consider what clients/ owners want regarding their personal preference in their bedrooms. Kung gusto nila ng fixed bets, sige, iremedyo.. often Times, gusto ng standard beds , para pag sawa na sila da itsura ng bedroom, madali ang renovation or movements of furnitures

Siempre, you can always give suggestions, pros & cons, but at the end of the day your client has the final word, it is their house, you are working for them so long as their requests & idea aren't ridiculous and is according to code. After all you also have a name. reputation & a license to protect.

hi Oliver, glad i came across your channel. Got a few questions while i was watching your video: 1) contractor approached Armstrong to hire them for a package deal to include architectural, engineering and actual construction services which he thought he got a good deal - but shouldn't he have shopped around for competitive fees first before just agreeing to the first contractor that approached him? 2) Why would building a 2-story house cost more than a 1-story house if the total living area is the same? A 200 square meter 1-story house has double the roof area when compared to a 200 square meter 2-story house, so a 2-story house should be a little cheaper in my opinion. 3) Are there any properties in the Philippines that have both a water well and a water catchment system, or is a ground well system usually sufficient? With all the typhoon and rain in the Philippines, i think a water catchment system could produce more water for gardening and growing vegetable purposes.

Glad, that sanitary engineers are recognize here, speciallay in signing plumbing plans and sanitary permits.

another solution for 3:35 problem. if the bed is in a permanent place, lift it with some kind of pallet, and 4"-6" inches should be enough. You solved both the moisture and regular lifting problem of your foam beds by allowing air to pass through the bottom.

Good alternate idea so is putting up the mattress against the wall every now and then when not in used as suggested and much easier to do...the room has good ventilation, so it'll keep the molds down low.

Nice review. Would like to hear your opinion on making polished cement. Pros and cons. Also what you think about the maintenance of it.

it depends on the location and local ordinance, the most that will be asked for you is to have a setback of 2m on sides and rear, and 3m on the front. what ever remains is your buildable area.

Karamihan po ng mga puti halos sila ang gumagawa ng house nila. Puti rin ang asawa ko at malaki ang natitipid namin. Ngayon nagtuturo ako dito sa ibang bansa at mas malaki pa ang sahod ko kaysa sa asawa ko. Dati ako professor sa Pilipinas.

Yes with the help narin..pastor ko american puro tools for construction ang meron sa bhay nila.. kaya ung ginawa ung church sya din ngawa .. marunong sila..

Architect suggestion, gawa ka reaction sa light steel framing house, mas makakamura ba sa ganitong materyales, tsaka gaano ka earthquake at typhoon proof ang ganitong bahay.. EJ from Calubian, Leyte Salamat and God bless

Gawa po kayo ng design at cost estimate pang small family, para merong idea

Sir. malilinis po ang flat paint. kami ng team namin sa FM ginagawa namin yan dito sa abroad. at certain point both gloss and flat paint needs repaint. but pwede po linisin.

I find that solid area around the edge is a big dangerous. I mean if fall.on your bed and miss, you could hit your head on that hard surface. Again, for kids, this can be a safety issue..Do you agree?

Meron po ba kayong masusuggest na magrerenovate ng toilet and kitchen? Yung modern pero hindi naman ganoong kamahal.

General contractor yata yan sa amerika kaya marunong. Lakas siguro kumita nyan mahal ang labor fee sa amerika doble or triple ng cost ng materials.

I love and really like the concept or the drying rack above the sink. However my only worry would be cockroaches crawling on the dishes.. not sure kasi if the bottom of the rack is somehow sealed, not sure kung anong tawag dun, yung parang screen? Cos if may space insects would still get in :( Reason why we use sealed cabinets for our dishes.

Walls in bathrooms & kitchens high gloss for cleaning and other walls flat or semi-gloss; queen size is adequate; as for budget per square meter - what are you getting for that 20,000 php we square meter? Finishes drive the cost up not structural or concrete or mech/elect; it appears that this was T&M project since the workers were paid weekly by owner - this drives up cost unless you keep them working. If you bid lump sum you can hold them accountable if they do lump sum contracts … in the end he paid 25,000 php per square meter - otherwise it’s a very nice house

No, not correct Gary. In the end I paid 18k pesos per sqm as mentioned in cost vlog. The contractors original quote was 20k per sqm. Once final structure was erected I requested to finish. Negotiations began and we drove it down. Regardless of finishing or interior. 20k is 20k. A signed agreement with any company holds them to that price whether they go over time or mis quote materials. I saved appx. 500k pesos in the end.

@@TheRichardArmstrong I divided 3.3M php by 130 square meters that equals 25,000: where did I go wrong? So in USA when I buy a house the price is inclusive of land, fence, building permits, and road improvements if any and that total price divided by sq ft is cost per square foot - I agree with you if you only include house cost then yes it’s 18,000 and a bonus is if you include the patio it’s only 14,000+ php sqm 😁

I will wait for him to answer as he is the expert. For me, it all depends on the amount of light coming into the room. If it is one wall, it ready does not make too much of a difference. Since it is only one wall, that is just like one afternoon job. So after you find you do not like it, you can always go back to the original. I hope you don't mind me commenting. It will be interesting to see what he has to say. An accent wall if done right can really make a room pop! It adds a lot of drama. I have also seen rooms with accent walls that look so good, however. I would have never thought of using that color on a wall. Some people have incredible talent with colors. For me it has always been serendipitous. I do think too if you are living in the home, you do what makes you happy, it is only when you want to sell your house they advise you to only use neutral colors. I value his insight, I hope he answers. I wish he had English subtitles as I would love to know everything he is saying. Good luck!
