Armor King/King Tekken Tag 2 10 years later

Ойындар

I decided to go on a FULL scale revisit for Armor King and King, going over moves and properties PLUS huge amounts of Tech from this game. This game was honestly super sick and I appreciate that it was once apart of my life!

    Bound was more satisfying (cool looking) than screw, change my mind. However, screw generally makes easier to land your follow up/combo ender (especially something "tight" like King's, AKs shining wizard).

    Yeah trying to hit shining wizards after bound is impossible (real hard) but that's how it was is T5 you usually had to jab into iWR. It makes kings easy BnB in T7 super easy

    Damn good old times, u actually made my tekken group go back to this game and have a good old TTT2-Day :-D The bound effect and combosystem was much more satisfying, i wonder how the next tag game will look like and ofc when we're gonna hear about Tekken 8. Somebody remember how to do the special finish after the King and AK throw where they do the countdown?

  • @Leadblast

    @@kings_of_tekken6795 it is unbreakable, but you can always break the Irish Whip itself in this game, no matter if you tag out to another character, if you do the other extentions, or if you do nothing. In the older games like in T3 or TTT1 the Irish Whip used to be unbreakable but it's not the case since at least T5 I think

    Yo, you can use king ff1 after ta for farther wall travel and a smidge more damage. Needs a bit of practice tho since it has a small hit box and hitting the opponent at the proper height to get a wall splat (hit it too late and the opponent slides right off after hitting the wall)

  • @Guitar-Dog
    @Guitar-Dog2 жыл бұрын

    You could get some cool tech catches with AK Ki charge fire breath 1+2+3+4 qcf1+2. If you did it during TA the combo would drop but if the opponent teched you could getting a standing launch with the point character

    Something about the running power bomb looks off in T7. In 6 and Tag2, the transition looks so smooth. But in 7 they kinda just snap into place.

    It's more of the slow mo for the grabs. Like everyone has slow mo implemented for the grabs it seems. They did it for King's at least

    @@ArmorKingTV21 I was meaning at the start of the grab. It's like they actually scoop them off the ground or pull them closer for a better grip. In 7 they just pop into their arms. Always bothered me since launch.

    AK's d+2 is a lot stronger here. Also CH uf+3 and b+2,1,2 caused a stun each as opposed to launch and screw in T7. King is much much stronger in TTT2 as well. It's just too bad that his f,f+1 has no special properties on hit/CH here because I find f,f+1 much more usable here than in T7. His u+1+2 not being techable as well. I abuse u+1+2 all day. His df+1,2 is a million times better than T7's version because here it is 100% safe when delayed, no pesky jab punishers to be resigned to eat. To say nothing about his flexible combos (come on f+1,2 or 2,1 into f+2,2,2 bound requires no special skills whatsoever in this game) and his terrifying oki after the airthrow. Though on the other hand King has no FC,df+2+3 or FC,db+2+3 here. But, I'd rather lose those grabs in exchange for all the goodness he has in TTT2.

    I am kind of sad that King didn't get his ff+1 properties until T7, especially when you consider some characters in this game had things like that i.e DVJ ws2 and Jin's CH EWHF. Didn't Bob also have something similar? Yeah I'm sorry I didn't truly mention a lot about King in this, he's honestly very strong in this game, while the absence of f2,1 is somewhat missed, it's fine he doesn't have it in this game considering he has the original f2 string! Yeah I did forget to mention d2 for Armor King as well. There was a lot to unpack here 😅

  • @Leadblast

    Yeah, that's the big irony with King's f,f+1, in TTT2 you can use it a lot more because his movement doesn't feel sluggish, you have decent, if not great movement. And King's opponents also move a lot better in this game and so f,f+1 is great for stopping them and is generally far more effective and more likely to hit in TTT2 because you and your opponents can move around so well. And now come T7, his f,f+1 has all these amazing properties like lower hitbox and huge frame advantage on regular hit and screw launch on CH, but here's the irony, because now the movement in that game is awful, both King's movement and the opponent's movement feels sluggish, so it's not nearly as effective as it once was. When I played T7 and tried f,f+1 it was like 80% or 90% a waste of time, I got interrupted so many times out of it, powercrushed and crap, it just wasn't funny. A lot of people keep saying his f,f+1 is uber godly and "one of the best moves in T7", when the fact is, it can't even hit. People are just not stepping as often in T7 because that game has this weak and sluggish movement, and there are power crushes and trading counterhits and stuff. You're much more rewarded from pressing buttons in T7 rather than moving around, and T7 King is just awful when it comes to "pressing buttons". And it still boggles my mind to think why they refused to keep the f+2,2,1_2 extentions from his "new" f+2 which is, you know, the same as Armor King's but they could just have attached the second and third hits from the old strings into the mid f+2, that could have solved a lot of his combo problems in T7. But, alas, "the road not taken". Harader decided that was broken, I guess. The "gods" decided it was not to be.

    You could break from King's ffn2 ch power bomb but you had to press 3+4 in order to break it... Yes 3+4 to break a throw, most beginners and intermediates didn't know about that so you basically always went for the power bomb (slighltly over 70dmg in total lol).
