its actually all computerized now days. the computers read the music a second before you hear it. basically the AV tech chooses a "theme" for the lights to follow. yes, someone did have to design and write the program. it's pretty much all automated and some one just presses play. but yes. someone did wire those lasers and point them for effect. it sure is cool

​@@paulklett I have to disagree on you with that, the program doesn't read the music, the show is 100% timecoded, which means a guy sat down with every song beforehand (almost every big dj has their own lighting designer) and everything prepared for every part of the whole set, then he just replayed all the saved playback.
