It would be a bit hard to translate all the lyrics and the meaning, but I will give it a go: Basically it’s a love song from a person who misses his/her lover (presumably a boy, but Armenian has gender-neutral pronouns) while fleeing from Bingyol (his/her hometown) which is in Western Armenia (nowadays turkey) during the Genocide. This song is also sung in Greek and it was rewritten by Av. Isaakyan (famous Armenian writer) in Armenian. “When the green doors of spring were opened (meaning - when the spring started), the rivers/streams of Bingyol became like a “qnar” instrument (meaning - started signing in their way). The paired camels were passing in a row, My love (yar) was also going to the pasture of Bingyol. I miss my dear (priceless) love’s light of the face (we say “luys yeres” which literally means a person with a light face), I miss her tender waist (in Armenia it’s attractive when a person has a good posture) and long braids (we say “tsov-tsamer”, which literally translates to “sea-braids”). I miss her sweet language (here it can also be referred to the tongue, as in how she speaks), and her pleasant (anush) smell, (I miss) that deer from Bingyol with the black eyes (“yeghnik” is a deer which also means a young lover). I'm lost, I'm not familiar with the roads, I am not familiar with the thousands of lakes, rivers and stones. I am a stranger, I am not familiar with these places. Sister (a passerby), tell me, where is the road to Bingyol?” (Depicting he wishes he was back home)
