Armenian Dances part 1 & part 2 - NC All-State Sr High Honor Band - 1996
The North Carolina All-State Senior High School Honor Band performs Armenian Dances part 1 and Armenian Dances part 2. This was a true honor to have Dr. Harry Begian conduct these 2 pieces, as he commissioned the work from Alfred Reed.
To qualify to audition for the All-state honor band is determined by your placement at All-District. If you are chosen based on your audition, it is an incredible 3 days of rehearsals, talent, hard work but new friends.

what a precious video and great story told by Dr. Begian!
What great memories. It is funny to see both me and a middle school ex (band geek romance) playing (over 20 years ago!) what at the time was one of the most fun pieces partly because the fast passages were fun but not difficult and every section shined. I forgot all about repeating the final number. Fine for us flute players but the reeds were not expecting another number!

@Trey is there any recording of Sonoran Desert Holiday from 96? I think I was in the '97 band, but the videographer didn't pan my way very much. If you have others, please share! Thanks so much, J
