Armagnac - The Best Secret in Brandy
Ойын-сауық
If you like Cognac you may wish to try Armagnac. Both are considered a brandy but Armagnac is the lesser known of the two -which makes it a tremendous value. The French will tell you that they export the Cognac but keep the Armagnac for themselves.

With the current obsession in the US for whiskies, bourbon in particular, the value Armagnacs provide in comparison is enormous. I have been a bourbon drinker for decades and always had a good supply of brandies. Now that bourbon has become a cult in the US and bourbons that that sold for 50 bucks but sat on the shelf for a long time 10 years ago are now 120-200 bucks if you can even find them I have a renewed appreciation for the quality and value brandies provide.

I completely agree!
More nuance in Armagnac than even the finest bourbon. (See comment above about the obsession with bourbon here in the US.) I love a good bourbon but this is a more refined experience that develops and reveals hidden secrets as you sip. Bourbon is great but to me, starts and ends as just good bourbon. If I am having a fine cigar on a cold night, sitting by the fire alone, or with company, i’ll reach for a good brandy, or Armagnac, without a moment’s hesitation.
Thank you for sharing you taste here.😊
Armagnac is definitely underrated in the US. Cheers!

Stupida fuckin drink
Just picked up a bottle of Jollite Armagnac VSOP, a bit stronger than a good cognac but the flavor profile is out of this world! Thanks for this video.

Thanks for your comment. I've also picked up a couple new Armagnacs. They are really growing on me. Enjoy yours!
Been drinking it for years Bas Armagnac is phenomenal!
I just picked up my first cognac few weeks ago and my first armagnac today.
Side by side, it would be fun to compare Cognac and Armagnac. But by itself, Armagnac is wonderful.
Definitely a game changer
As far as I have understood, Armagnac is made in a column in which the spirits is in more contact with the non vaporized wine from which it is made. This then gives it more of the wines taste which is one part of how it differs from a Cognac. My experience is that Armagnac shines after a big dinner with powerful foods and wines where as a Cognac is better when my palate is a little more "untouched" or "clean". But then again, there are big differences within Cognacs and Armagnacs as well and this is all very much just my personal experience from a few occasions.
Sire, which one do you prefer; Cognac or Armagnac? Here in the Philippines as well as in almost all former Spanish colonies, we drink Brandy de Jerez from Spain. The 2nd most popular Brandy Style

If I was forced to pick between Cognac and Armagnac I would choose Cognac but only because it seems a bit more refined. Armagnac feels a bit more "dense". Maybe it is the single distillation. But the value of Armagnac is fantastic. Thanks for commenting.
Armagnac has an exciting feel in the mouth. I always smile after the first sip.

Unfortunately, prices have risen a lot in recent times, even an armagnac XO costs a lot, there are occasions from time to time that you have to seize ...

I agree. I think the window is closing. Everything is getting expensive.

When drinks get pricey, we move on to other beverages like Arnagnac. Honestly, a 20+ year old spirits for 100 to 200 bucks? What's there to complain .
hor dee auge? Really?
