An updated version of a similar video I posted quite a while ago regarding older versions of Ravage. This 'tutorial' simply shows how to quickly set up a Ravage mission and also follows how I typically set mine up. I hope this helps someone - Cheers!

    Awesome tutorial/setup video! Really helpful, and I'm pleasantly surprised just how easy and intuitive a lot of it is. I've never created any custom scenarios etc but feel confident in being able to now.

    Thank you greatly for this video, since ravages save system is kinda bugged my group would always suffer glitches and bugs, but thanks to this mod I actually got a multiplayer thing going, we just never use the save feature and I just edit the essentials in the Eden editor, like our positions and equipment, then save the scenario so we can continue almost exactly where we left off. Again thank you greatly for this video its really helped my friends and I really enjoy Ravage to its greatest potential.

    I'd recommend using some Hide/Show Object Modifiers for the friendlies and enemies that you want to run into. Have a trigger to hide them as soon as you start the game and then a trigger to show them when you get in a certain radius or square of them.

    I really appreciate you taking the time to put this together. After making countless custom scenarios for my little group, this should help add a little variety to the standard mil-sim games we've done for a while. I've messed with most of the modules myself before coming across your video, and I agree those safe zone modules seem to be hit or miss. The rest seem to work just fine for me, and the ambient environment color filter is pretty great if you mix it with the right amount of fog effect in the environment settings. Not sure if that's a recent fix they've done but it works just fine for me by selecting the true variable in the drop-down. Great video - I'll be checking out your others later. Do you mostly play SP or do you have a group you do MP scenarios with sometimes?

    Honestly I'm new to the editor and making scenarios but I'm getting there slowly but wanted something more like this. Your wayyy too underrated and I hope you record more arma 3 and keep it up. BTW the 5 people who disliked are uncultured as f*ck

    Hey Prospekt! Nice video it helped a lot! *PSA for Single player Saving Scenarios* So I was able to figure out the single player Save/Exit/Resume bug. I was able to find that the “crash” sequence that happened to me with resuming would start the loading screen then crash back to my scenario menu. After sifting and combing through each of the 40ish mods i had installed i was able to pick out a handful which would crash for some reason. Long story short, the issue with resuming a save game is a mod related issue. I would suggest creating a scenario with no mods first. Next, gradually test which mods work and which don’t which was something that worked for me. I still have 36 mods installed and am able to resume via single player. Hope this helps. Cheers.

    Hey Prospekt, checking your vids, I can see you're still releasing RAVAGE missions (last one was approx. 4 months ago), therefore is there any chance you can do a 2021 update to this vid with new mod releases / updates (e.g. Vandeansons Apocalypse etc). I absolutely love these vids of yours & taking the learning into my own missions. Keep up the great work & don't forgot to keep the RAVAGE vids coming 👊

    To be honest, everything I presented in this video basically still holds up for making these scenarios, with the only difference being the addition of Vandeanson's Apocaypse. The VA mod however, doesn't really need a tutorial, it's all just a bunch of menus inside the Eden editor that you adjust however you want, there's no real tricks to it. The current mods I use are more simplified from these days, this list is more or less a good general outline of my setup steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2356056837 - I don't make Ravage videos too regularly anymore... I've been playing Arma for a very long time and I've made a ton of Ravage videos. I do plan on making more in the future, but it's going to be pretty infrequent.

    @@bumpycamel Yeah I mean, I've been into Arma since Op. Flashpoint in the early 2000's, and I've made over a hundred Ravage videos so... kind of just waiting for Arma 4, y'know?     Awesome video thank you so much. I have a problem thou. I can't make survivors part of my squad. I run into them and the option doesn't appear. I can heal them but that's about it. I have a radio with me. But I don't know. anyways thank you.

    For radioactive zones i would use them in a futuristic setting as if they tried to nuke the area and I would put the radioactive zone there if that’s how it works

    Great stuff! Can you show how to set up a basic multiplayer scenario? I want to set up a dedicated server for me and some friends...I already have the dedicated server installed, along with a ASrma 3 server control panel. But I don't know how to make a ravage multiplayer scenario.

    I've never actually made one that I've played multiplayer before, but I would assume the easiest way would be to make multiple playable units and maybe multiple respawn points and make sure to export the scenario to multiplayer when finishing up in the Eden editor. I've only made these for use with a single player controlled character before so unfortunately I'm unable to give a proper explanation for a good MP setup, but if it is exported to MP then it should be usable so long as you have enough playable units for your friends to use and your friends have the required mods.

Also, it would nice if you actually listed the mods you have loaded in the description, alternatively link to the exported XML-list from the launcher. :) Thanx for a good explanation of the Ravage settings.

    @@christerjohanzzon Glad you found some better info. I intentionally didn't list my mods because the viewer is meant to apply these methods to their own mod set to create their own scenario as they see fit, however I'll pin a comment listing the primary ones I use for Ravage later today.

    Upon browsing through my workshop addons, I don't see any specific ACE composition mods so the best I can do is point you towards the version of ACE I have and the composition mods I use.     I don't know of a way to do that specifically, sorry. The zombie blacklist module will keep zombies from spawning in the area that you place them, but I'm pretty sure it will also remove them if they wander in. Not sure if what you're looking for is possible or not.

    Hoping you can help please - When loading in all the mods, specifically including Ravage, I get taken to a Ravage game menu, rather than the default Arma 3 menu, meaning I can't go into the Editor. Any advice please - much appreciated. Can appreciate it's an old video so may not get a reply :)

    Its been a few weeks scince i played ravage but there shoupd be some tabs near the top of the screen that say singleplayer, multiplayer, profile and something else, hover over the tabs and you should find a dropdown that says eden editor

    Yes I believe it does affect it, because I never change the time multiplier in Eden, only the Ravage one and that seems to work just fine.

    Wait so do you need this mod to create missions like this or can you do it with the base game I have the zombie mod but I want to create like a military v zombies and civs and have jets flying around dropping bombs and strafing runs

    I mean you could probably do it with the base game + some other zombie mod, but I'm only familiar with using Ravage for zombie stuff. I've done missions before with military/civs as well as zombies with Ravage, this video is about just a zombie survival type of scenario though. Ravage is just a set of optional modules, you can tweak it however you like alongside the base game.

    So a bit late but the issue with you not being able to reload a save is due to mod use. You pretty much have to turn off one mod at a time untill you figure out which one is the problem.

    Yes, this is very true. I've looked at this over the years and the only definitive answer I've had is the CUP (Community Upgrade Project) mods, all of them. Now, I've never been able to prove this absolutely true myself. In a scarce few instances where I've been able to save and reload myself, for instance in the "Gila" video here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mKZqwbSIdMiWkZM.html - *However*, that was one of the only times, and the only I've ever caught on video. I can't confirm any one mod responsible, but like I typed, I've had several people blame the CUP mods for it. Due to the nature of realistically needing several mods at the minimum to have a good time with Ravage, I can't confirm this, nor deny it, but I don't doubt that mods are the issue.

    Hiho, i can sponsor a dynamic loot spawner if you like, that spawns gear items, mags, attachments and weapons in buildings based on your active mods. Spawnchance can be adjusted and its possible to differenciate what spawns in military areas, industrial areas and general buildings.

    That'd be very cool, I'd love to be able to spawn weapons from Robert Hammer's weapon packs as well as all of the NIArms mods, I feel like they'd be perfect to have available in Ravage since they're such high quality weapons. At the moment all I can do is drop crates or drop them in cars on on my player character.

    Do you want to exclude vanilla arma weapons and gear? I can configure it so that all active mods (e.g. NIArms) are considered and its weapons, items and gear is spawned, that would be the sinplest way to use such script, u can just paste the file into your mission folder and activate your mods.

    i was watching this other guy set up another mod, kind of like you are, and he said something like" 2 modules you always have to to put in at the START are", and one of them was a module that handled the SAVE system for that mod. like put the save module in before the other module's.

    In response to your first comment (Which for some reason disappeared for me) - From my experience most every mod is compatible with Ravage in terms of gear/weapons/vehicles, HOWEVER, they do not all work with the loot/spawn system, for instance NIArms does not work with the loot system. The only compatible weapons/gear mods that Ravage can use are RHS, CUP, Warfare Thai, Friths Ruin, and Iron Front (Including LEN Weapons), and I know that The Birds and the Bees (vehicle pack) works with car spawns as well as a few other vehicle mods that I can't remember/don't use. The mods I most frequently use are CBA, RHS (All of it), CUP (All of it), Warfare Thai, Iron Front, Friths Ruin, The Birds and the Bees (vehicle pack), ACE 3 (No medical), ASR AI (To alter AI behavior), Fox's Survival Cars, and a lot of other gear/weapon packs that don't work with the loot system (I tend to just drop supply crates into my scenarios or equip them when setting my loadout) such as NIArms, Robert Hammer's weapon packs, Delta Hawk's US Military Mod, COXHOUND Content Pack, and Killoch's Multinational Pack. In response to your second question: No, I now use the most current version of Ravage that you can find on the workshop.     @@ProspektMir I deleted my first comment after watching you mentioned your mods in the video. And the older version, I already downloaded it from your previous tutorial video. I currently using rhs(all of it), cup(all of it), frith ruin, and enhanced movement. Do you need those compatibility mods for ASR AI to use with rhs and other big mods like BWmod, CUP, r3f . I saw so many compat mods for ASR on armadillos. I use vcom ai instead (which is also really great one)

    @@thureintun1687 I've never used any compat mods for ASR AI and I don't believe I've had any problems, but my mod set is different so I doubt it would hurt for you to use compat mods if you see them. I've heard of vcom ai I've never used it though.

    Anyone know how to make the ai resplendent after killing them? Swear I wiped the whole map clean and nobody to be seen anymore or do you just literally restart the mission?

    Prospekt , you have any Idea at all why some maps will spawn loot/garbage, and wrecks, and others don't? Is it a setting issue, or something wrong with a map? Zombies and AI are working on all these, just not the trash/wreck spawns.

    @@ProspektMir yeah, I don't want to sign up on BIS forums just to "maybe" get an answer from Halek on it. Which, I suppose I don't mind being free from ground clutter, and I can always add wrecks around. I just really wish I knew how those spawned randomly/dynamically... or why it does it some maps, and not others. Another cool thing I was playing with in the editor was the support call module that airdrops. But I can't seem to find how to get such airdrops to drop the ravage survival boxes , instead of default basic ammo boxes for your side. Thought that would be sorta neat. I played an Arma2 mod mission called "wasteland1983" , which was based off old 1.7.0.+ Dayz code that allowed single player. It didn't have zeds in it, just horrible head-shotting aimbot AI ... but it had a feature , if you found radio , and went to a radio tower , or airport terminal, you could call in an airdrop. I thought such would be cool to do in Ravage... but I'm no scripter lol.

    @@awfrailey Yeah that would be an interesting addition. With the VA mod you can find generated caches of loot at spawned camps like bandit camps etc., plus you can pull supply crates out of the wreckage of the heli crash sites and shipwrecks, which is a cool feature.

    @@ProspektMir Yeah, I just need to try and tweak more settings for VA's mod , I noticed playing on Gila, the towns seemed t be hotspots for AI spawn/activity. Almost a bit too-much so. I was doing well enough, but I actually found a friendly ... which I still hadn't found out how to turn off friendlies. I recruited him, he got hurt, I used a medkit on him ... but he wouldn't stop shooting zombies, he walked backwards as I was getting up head shot me with friendly fire. I was messing around with another mod, went into VR editor to do so ... figured out, I could sort-of make my own maps inside the VR room thing. Of course lacks like elevations really , but you can basically spawn in any building , objects, ect. I thought it was interesting enough, the VR map is large enough to make it interesting. Another thing i found, using night-time + 4-5% fog, really made the VR environment very dark/gloomy, which of course made the zombies even scarier. I didn't have AI in at that time testing that out, I figured AI sees through fog like it's not there, and i really dislike getting lit up when I can't see the AI. I just thought it was a neat option ( that also runs very good ) , to have different maps, with-out having to get into making full fledged terrains.

    @@awfrailey Yeah lol that's one reason I don't generally like to have friendly AI with me on Ravage stuff, they tend to just fire at everything regardless of if you're in the way... I've been team killed quite a few times in the past. You can disable friendly units easiest by playing as a BluFor unit and making Independent hostile and by turning off traders/turning off any BluFor AI spawns. I personally love playing Ravage stuff at night with thick fog/snow or other weather like heavy rain and thunderstorms, it really adds to the immersion for me.

    Does the Ravage mod allow Zeus to spawn zombies at will, during the game? I dont see it...

    No, the Ravage zombies are ambient spawns that happen depending on the module settings. If you want to spawn them yourself you'll need something like the Zombies & Demons mod.

    For being able to respawn when you die, if you set up the respawn markers like I show in the video.

    I don't know of any mods like that specifically. I do get hit by them when I'm in a vehicle sometimes but it might be just an Arma bug.

    I only made a few scenarios that I shared but it was just among friends. It was a long time ago, never public, and they don't exist anymore.

    Thanks. I honestly spent more time making a scenario than playing it haha. Also how can I sleep? I have a campfire with me and on a shelter, placed a sleeping bag but for some reason I cant sleep

    The sleeping function only works if you're playing as a singleplayer scenario, it won't work if you're playing on a multiplayer server, even if it's local co-op.

    Hmm... I've never had that happen. Maybe check under the multiplayer settings where you went to set up the respawn, there might have been an option for that in there, if not try under your mod configuration in the main settings directory as some mod might have loadout reset enabled, but I'm not sure. I'll check my scenario later and see if I can some up with anything if you don't have any luck.

    @@ProspektMir thanks for the video, it really helped, and thank you for the reply; however, I enabled persistent save so when I try to remake the scenario is carries my gear and location over, so I can't test if the respawn is working properly, is there somehow to reset persistent save?

    @@thecamper27 Maybe when you're editing the scenario get rid of the save module? I know under it's settings there is an option for multiplayer persistence but I'm not quite sure about disabling that for singleplayer other than excluding the module altogether, however that might give you issues if you're planning on saving and reloading back into the scenario later. EDIT - I could be wrong though I'm not sure if a standard SP save is different from the one that the Ravage module uses, might just test it out.

    If you set up a respawn like I showed in this video, the best way to do that is to use the Vandeanson's Apocalypse mod steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=1655727065 - It has options for respawn loadouts or for randomizing them. You should be able to tweak the parameters of it in the mod settings tab when you're in the Eden editor, along with a lot of other great options to make Ravage more interesting. This tutorial is a little outdated, because after making this I started using the VA mod alongside Ravage.

    I placed loot boxes with a set percentage chance that I would find them, typically around 33%. Or you could place 50 of them with a 1% chance. This wasn't some EXACT guide, it was a framework, you had to create your own. You had to work with what you had back then, as there weren't many mods for random loot boxes and most the time they were terrible. Remember this is from 3+ years ago. Nowadays, you don't have to worry about that anymore. Just run the Vandeanson's Apocalypse mod alongside Ravage.

    Just approach your vehicle and roll your mouse wheel and select the option to refuel the vehicle from the action list.

    Walk up to your vehicle with a can in your inventory and roll your mouse wheel to bring up the action menu, then just choose the refuel action.

    Yeah you can, if you have some matches and either a document folder or some money you can make a fire, and if you have a knife you can harvest animals. In my experience, finding animals in Ravage can be a bit unreliable though unless you add extra animal spawns through editor modules.

    If you're using the Vandeanson's Apocalypse mod, in the addon settings check the different VA mod tabs, I believe there are options for changing the spawn percentage of certain weapons for the AI.

    Lol Zombies in arma suck.... no one bothered to make a good mod yet. I would but I can't fucking understand that shit. I'd pay someone to actually make a good immersive one. The annoying thing is all the diff zombie mods have stuff the others could use, some have good anims, but no other good features, some have shitty anims but no gibbing, spawners etc

    @@dragz4life422 true, but the features are already there, just spread out in different mods, it;s just the Arma coommunity is quite toxic, they dont like to work with each other
