This announcer has drawn me into arm wrestling far more than I would have even though I've always loved arm wrestling when I was a kid. He's great! He reminds me of back home in Los Angeles listening to Chick Hearn, Bob Miller, and Vin Scully in a way.

Chris Jones Right? He makes these matches so 'alive', if that makes sense. Pours a lot of heart into it. He could easily be a commentator for major sports events imo

Seeing more recent videos sans commentary really shows the contrast. I enjoy his enthusiasm.

@@gian2627 the announcer is Neil Pickup, to my knowledge he's the most prominent British armwrestler ever. He commentates sometimes still but otherwise I don't really know what he's doing, and I'm not sure if he still competes. There're vids of some great matches of his on KZread though.

Neil Pickup, definitely the best arm wrestling commentator in the business. Has recently done some commentating for the 2018 WAL arm wrestling series and does a lot of work for the British coverage of the Worlds Strongest Man "Giant's Live" series, doing interviews of the athletes at the live events.

Aside from Michael Todd and Geoff Hale, these two are Armwars. They have the best matches vs each other.

Not really, Nannestad got a decent leverage advantaged that haugland makes up for in strenght. Nannestad is faster tho. As you can see in this video haugland drove him straight to the pad everytime they got inside in the hook. Nannestad likes to be on the outside with his leverage and joint strenght.

@@fredrik5613 yeah your right it's crazy how armwrestling is not always about who's stronger to win it's very technical..you can see in the match that haugland is the stronger man but like you said nannestad's speed and longer leverage helped stopped that advantage atleast until they got into the hook

Well the reason men and women do not compete against each other and the reason there are weight classes is not because of technique but because size = strength. Just because some skinny dwarf in Uzbekistan can bench press 500 pounds does not mean that it is not true on average and even the anomalous skinny miracles are destroyed by musclemen with good genetics. This does not necessarily mean that person A at 200 pounds is always weaker in all movements than person B that's 210 pounds but both A and B will inevitably become stronger by putting on muscle. The buffer version of you is always a stronger version of you even if someone else is stronger than you while being lighter. I don't know what else to say.
