    This is golden information. Once I figured out that it's not about forcing the arm around and to relax it except for bringing your arm up. The goofy arm drill is important to mentally relax the arms. The "lasso drill" is helpful practice with a loose arm at home. It has also helped with pain that I was having. This has been one of those moment where it 'clicked'. Thank you sincerely.

    Gonna try this in a couple days. I’ve had a problem with layback for a while and one day after a hundred throws it clicked for some reason and instantly saw a spike in velocity. Haven’t gotten to that range of motion and fluidity since then but close to it. Fluidity isn’t there though and I feel like I have to forcibly put my arm into that position.

    Have some layback back. Not at 180 degree but soft tissue work has helped and just being relaxed helps a lot. Just tossing I don’t get much layback but the more rotational power I use the more layback I get. Haven’t been back to a easy 84 yet but have thrown a intense 86 so gonna go back to throwing hard easy and stay relaxed

    GREAT CONTENT! I have been trying to improve the arm action. I can get the hand behind the elbow and the shoulder, but im not entirely sure the mecanics are ok....so that means they're not, trying to compare video y never see the same action happening

    Love the arm flopping drill! Any idea about the weight of plyo ball the javelin thrower used? What’s the weight of the black medicine ball used for those whole body drills (starting around 6’30”)? What weight would you recommend for a 12 year old for the whole body drills? Thanks.

    Y Z two pounds max, beyond that you should use both arms to propel the heavy ball

    You are on the right track, but driving the wrong vehicle. There is some physics-based biomechanical knowledge that would get you into the driver's seat of the right (i.e., correct) vehicle. I'll give you a hint. It is called the neutral wrist. The knowledge required will explain how to use the neutral wrist for throwing a baseball. Another hint is the 3rd Class leverage of the humerus (upper arm bone) versus the pronated leverage of the forearm.

    In your idea. Where would the fulcrum, load, and effort be in the 3rd class lever? Where the humerus is being used

    @@gp381 The humerus is the 3rd class lever (3CL). The fulcrum is the shoulder joint, which powerful upper body muscles from the front back and side feed into the joint. The elbow leads the way forward (flexion-extension) and across (abduction/adduction) across the body. The 3CL process converts power at the shoulder into speed of the humerus (lever) and as such their is no mechanical advantage. The advantage is the trade of power for increased speed. In pitching 3CL is king.

    Sorry but this is not good info. I was watching Glasnow and thinking how he is putting way too much stress on his elbow with his form. Then I looked up his injury history and sure enough, he missed 121 days in 2019, 111 days in 2021, and 128 days in 2022 and only threw for 7 innings that year. This is about what I predicted just from looking at his form.
