I haven't played any of the Pikmin games yet but have been interested from the first moment I saw Pikmin on gc, which was via the trailer for it on Luigi's Mansion. It always looked awesome to me.

The ultimate idea: Have Pikmin show up in an AC:NH event, where they can be caught like bugs and get a place in the museum. It would be a cute crossover that works within their respective worlds, and would massively boost attention to Pikmin as a franchise.

Pikmin 3 in 10 days I think that’s impossible because yeah if you the tutorial doesn’t count every day one boss but the problem is every boss has this entire place before it I think it would take around 13 days to beat the game Day 1:free Britney and finish the way to the boss Day 2:defeat boss one collect the stuff Day 3:free Britney again Day 4:defeat another boss free Charlie and get the stuff back to ship Day 5:defeat boss in tutorial region Day 6:get pink Day 7:beat another boss Day 8:get way to boss and damage him Day 9:finish the boss Day 10:get through the Stamm Day11 and 12:defeating the final boss

9:40 As some one who works in software development let me translate this into some possible meanings: 1) We didn't design the game or engine with online play in mind and adding it at this point would cost more than making a new game. 2) We don't have a developer with the skill set to pull it off on the team. 3) We could do it but the higher ups decided that is wasn't worth the money and time to add it. Basically it's never actually impossible but it may not be worth the effort to Nintendo for various reasons.

@@mexicanhonoka Nintendo only owns Monolith soft (Xenoblade and co-dev Zelda botw) nd cube (Mario Partyaand Clubhouse games) Retro Studios (Donkey Kong TF and Metroid Prime) and 1-up Studio (support studio). The rest are all indipendent studios with exclusivity contracts (HAL, Next Level games, Grezzo, Inteligent Systems, Camelot and Good feel) or have a close relatioship with Nintendo (Zora, Bandai Namco, Game Freak and Platinum). The only games that Nintendo made themself internally on the Switch that are not WiiU ports are Zelda BotW, Mario Odyssey, Mario Maker 2, Animal Crossing, Splatoon 2, Ring Fit Adventure, 1-2 Switch, Arms and Labo (and some Indie size eshop games).

They actually talked about it for 5 hours but they didn’t want to seem like even bigger Pikmin nerds even though we all know they are.

i 100% agree. it’s just that Arlo probably wouldn’t be able to keep his channel and he wouldn’t be able to make his own scripts or edit his own content. the trade-off isn’t worth it, even though a Nintendo miniseries hosted by Arlo would be delightful

As a grown man who skipped out on the Wii U, I am very excited for the chance to play this children's game about little flower people.

Imma be honest, the touch controls of Pikmin 3 was the way I played and I thought it was the best way to play the game. It felt so good and natural, and is probably why Pikmin 3 became one of my top 3 favorite Nintendo games. I really hope it stays on the switch version

Komaede so the other controls are either using the Wiimote to aim at the screen to aim the pikmin or there’s the stick controls which the distance of how far you can throw pikmin is determined by which direction you turned and how far in that direction you’ve moved. It’s kinda hard to explain. The stick controls are not the greatest

I think they will because Wii U ports like MK8D use their touch menus even if new games like botw or smash don’t. So they can take the work they’ve done and bring it to this version I imagine

They never said it was nearly done. If you actually go back to the original article it says the opposite. Miyamoto basically said they where working on a Pikmin game to play because they'll have to wait for Pikmin 4 to come out. He did not say, 'we are working on Pikmin 4 and it's almost done'.

I firmly believe that they only annoumced Metroid Prime 4 early just to shut up all the people online who act like Nintendo doesn't care about Metroid at all. I find it interesting when fans find themselves in the exact same situation. Look at all the people who bug Itoi into making Mother 4. Then one of the fans made their own game, Undertale, and now they get annoyed with all the fans demanding for sequels He never wanted to create.

You're in luck. They did it again!

It is important to note that Louie was left behind on Earth yet again at the end of Pikmin 3, as well as the cliffhanger of a ship crashing at the end of the credits. This epilogue is obviously going to be about that ship, but the story will likely be Olimar going back for Louie.

Wasn't there a secret chapter of Pikmin 3, where Olimar and Louie were making the recordings, and one of them was about how Louie thought he was being kidnapped by the Koopaites, which was why he stole their juice? And also that secret movie in Pikmin 2, which revealed the entire reason the company went into debt... was actually because he ate all the Pik Pik Carrots? Even in-game, Louie's always been presented as a fop; when returning to the planet, he gets himself kidnapped by a giant spider monster. He is absolutely hopeless in every interpretation lol

Yeah, Louie's sole personality trait outside of being hungry has always been his incompetence lol. He's the sole cause of the ENTIRE problem in Pikmin 2, and on top of that he's evidently not above going AWOL in that game either like he did after the credits.

You probably didn't know that there's a pause/play button on the 'go here' map that lets you see the game play in real time from a top down perspective.

Honestly. For a Handheld, Gamecube controls are perfectly comfy. No need to complicate that at least for Handheld mode. But I hope they add something serviceable with Gyro (Or improve the controls to a point where gyro isn't necessary)

Yeah I think pointer controls are kinda overrated. Personally I think I like touch controls on the gamepad the best.

There’s actually 3 big questions that the epilogue can explore. Louie being left behind on the PNF-404, the unidentifiable crash and the fact that the crashes were not an accident.

Arlo: corpses give you less sprouts, electricity insta-kill, every captain consumes one juice jar. Nintendo: Ultra spicy mode, 60 Pikmin in field. Now shut it.

Can we get a new one of these about your hopes and expectations on Pikmin 4 now that we actually know it's coming? This was thoroughly enjoyable and there's so much more that can be said after a 10 year wait.

Actually, Fire Emblem Awakening wasn't exactly easier per se. It got simplified in a bunch of ways and they gave players opportunities to grind exp, but it also had a hard mode, that was ... honestly straight up ridiculous.

I think with Olimar's story you'll start in the area with the Quagled Mierclopes (where the crashes ship is) and then just move around from there. Maybe it'll be like Resident Evil 2 with Jill where there's new bosses and enemies, but the same areas. I'd imagine it would end with Olimar being caught, Louie running away and getting caught by the bee creature, and then it would pick up with Alph, Brittany, and Charlie. I'd imagine you also find the Cosmic Drive Key as Olimar

For the difficulty modes, I found some info saying "Reach your ship by the end of the day or YOU & your Pikmin are in trouble!" Cuz usually when the day is over, you spawn next to your ship. What if you dont make it? What if you have to survive the night with the Pikmin you have? How cool will that be?!

I'm pretty much in agreement with Arlo. I like 2 best since it's a ton of fun exploring caves and there's just so much to the game that it's a ton of fun, 3 is a close second because it is easily the most polished of the games, and 1 is the roughest around the edges, but it's still an excellent game that I enjoy going back to. You know, I disagree on them putting focus on Olimar here because he's the face of the brand because, to me, I feel like the Pikmin themselves are the face of the brand and whoever controls them is irrelevant. If I'm being more optimistic than Shesez was, I think the Olimar/Louie thing was just them being like "Hey, Olimar and Louie are in the game's story, let's actually explore their side of the story. Wouldn't that be neat?" I feel like the intention was just to explore a new side of this game's story when there very minimal exploration of the story in the form of Olimar's logs and the Miiverse Video Logs, so it just seems like a natural conclusion to go to when thinking of new additions to add to the game. Also, they could've re-released Tropical Freeze with no changes and I still would've snatched that game up in no time. New Funky Mode was nice, but I'm just happy to have that game again, no extra bells and whistles needed. And one last thing, on the topic of Wii U ports being full priced again, I have two reasons why I have always been fine with it. One is the fact that for a lot of people, they are experiencing the game for the first time. So while Wii U owners may feel cheated and jaded on this, that doesn't matter to the Switch owners who skipped on a Wii U, which is a lot of them. And the second reason is I feel like the portable nature of the Switch makes it to where that is reason enough to buy these games a second time. Like, I already said how they could've done a straight port with nothing added in for Tropical Freeze, and that's true for a lot of games. Having these amazing games like Mario Kart, Tropical Freeze, Pikmin 3, even something less amazing but still good like New Super Mario Bros U with just now I can play it portably? That's an INSANE value increase for me. Though yes, it sucks they delisted it on the Wii U eShop, I will never defend it, even if I understand from a business standpoint you don't want a much cheaper alternative for the same product on a dead system, it's just a gross anti-consumer move. So I don't like that aspect of it, but I don't care, I want this game on Switch for the new content it's adding and because I love Pikmin 3.

Ah, exactly what I expected, a 1 hour pikmin discussion about a 2 minute trailer from arlo

i was honestly feeling really stressed, but watching this made me feel better. Great stuff! Made me feel better about the franchise and the future game as a whole. Tyvm haha, keep up with the vids!!

Just got Deluxe, FINALLY able to play 3, let's go!!

so exited for this, it’ll be my first Pikmin. I have always found the series appealing, but I’ve never been able to get my hands on the series until now

Very much enjoyed this, would love to see you guys or you and others do more discussions like this.

Debbie Lipscomb Alph says that Louie has disappeared in the final day’s report and Louie is shown running off right before they take off.

This was a really good video! I think having other voices along side yours helps balance everybody out creating a really good discussion. I hope you collaborate with these guys (or others) more!

Even that has been an uphill struggle at times. God love him, Shigeru Miyamoto is all gameplay gameplay gameplay, forget the story. Both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask were given deeper stories against his advice/wishes. The top 5 best selling switch games have next to no story in them. We story lovers are in the minority.

The Disgruntled Imperial I would say that Zelda was actually given more story as it went on as wind-waker twilight princess and skyward sword all had really satisfying story especially tp. And I know not everyone agrees, but I loved breath of the wilds story and all of the memories were great with the best Zelda the series has ever had

@@markzaccardi8513 I think if they had structured more large temples (sacrificing 10-20 shrines) and put just 10-15% more story in it would've hit the sweet spot for me. Love the atmosphere and environmental storytelling as well, though.

I just think botw story is under appreciated cause although it has its problems Zelda’s story and character were some of the best in the series ( and I think Zeldas voice actress was great)

Arlo: My backlog is waay too big Also Arlo: Plays Pikmin 3 every 2 months

Fun fact, a few years ago in pikmin 3 I once created a fruit juice that was blue instead of yellow or pink

Theoretical June direct that had this game, Paper Mario, everything from the mini direct and at least one more teaser. That would've been fantastic.

It’s weird how all of you said essentially the same thing when ranking the games “PIKMIN 3 is the most refined and objectively probably the best, but PIKMIN 2 is our favorite” Well I’ll be over here with 3 being my favorite....by myself...I guess...

I'm pretty sure Pikmin 3 would be the favorite of the majority if it was on a console people actually owned. It pretty much takes the formula from 1 and improves it. Though I think they misremembered some aspects of older titles, like I heard AntDude mention Pikmin 2's time limit when 2 had no time limit.

I thought that the fanbase thinks that Pikmin 2 is the best (probably true) but my favourite is 3 even if i use to love each 3 games

I always liked 1 more than 2. I liked the pressure of 30 days and trying to get all the parts.

I like Pikmin 2 the most because when I beat the game I was still playing it even though there was nothing to do. I think the major thing they added in Pikmin 3 DX is the Co-Op Story mode. I wanted that since the first time I played Pikmin 2. Pikmin has the potential to be a top seller.

They could do it like this: Handheld mode: touch controls, Tv mode: gyro pointer

Why do people think that having 3 deluxe means no 4 on switch, weren’t 1 and 2 both on the gamecube?

I think lock on means that your aiming reticle can lock on to enemies instead of manually aiming
