My husband and I stayed there in the '90s, and it was as beautiful as it was when I stayed there in the 70's. I got the spa package, relaxed, and had a wonderful time, the same as when we were there in the 90's. We went back about six months ago, (2022) and poor Gran Dame has really gone down the drain. It has fallen into disrepair. They said since Covid, they couldn't keep up with the repairs. It is still beautiful, BUT, the spa was not open. Some of the rooms were not available, and the front porch needs a lot of repairs. I was able to get a mineral bath room which really did help my hip. So I recommend before you book, ask what is available.

My dad was caddy for Lucky Luciano . Old families could tell a lot stories about those days .

My family stayed here during the 90s. It was such an elegant hotel. Service was bar-non. The food was top notch. The big and played ever night. We loved it. Many good memories here.

What a beautiful hotel I can't wait to visit

I’ve been in that hotel befor and I’m was just in it like an hour ago and let me tell you when I came back to my room there was weighting on the window mirror that said GO HOME!!! the hotel is haunted

Please, the Southern Club is still there, what you showed was Hill Wheatley built Apartments, Lana Lai I think, I Remember when it was built. The southern Club in not there. I worked as Bell Hop at both Majestic and the Arlington, also for Hill Wheatly and his son. in the 1960's-1990, when I retire to SF CA.

1st hotel build in 1875 then demolished and rebuilt in 1893. 2nd hotel burned down in 1923 and the 3rd hotel was built in 1924, not 1824. John Lennon, Ronald Reagan, president Clinton, lucky Luciano, Jack Dempsey and some of the Beatles also stayed there. During WWII they hotel was used for military to stay for free to enjoy the baths and they used the kitchen of the Arlington to cook food for the injured military vets that were in the army navy hospital and Eastman hotel that were both located down the other end of bath house row
