Failed? come now, if they REALLY wanted to, they could have made it work. It's a deliberate choice on their part to make her bad. There's no way you can explain it otherwise.

you know I always thought that Midnight having more dps was a meme, then I saw a side by side comparison and yeah....

Damn boi, I wish she could have a total rework or something. I like her a lot, I played her a lot in my earlies and I can't say she's niche, she's totally unplayable x( Alter is the best choice to do something with her, alas. If we only have balance changes, not only modules that often not really helps

Totally agree on that. Hypergryph doesnt do balance changes, so an ALTER form is her only hope. Frostleaf deserves better.

I want HG to start a new trend for 4* -> 5* alter like Greyy. Considering the moderate success Greyy has been for the game, it'd be cool to see more 4* unit with new extra kit to improve on their original kit. Greyy was a slow splash caster and mostly considered bad due to his mediocre dps, short range, and unreliable slow. So they made his 5* version not only a Flinger with incredibly wide range, but also good base rng slow (talent) and small SP cost skill with much more reliable area slow and good extra arts damage. I would like to see a new reiteration of Frostleaf that works the same.

I, for one think HG knows exactly what they're doing with Frostleaf. Her operator records/character story clearly shows her adapting to life on the landship and growing as a character. It ends with Kalt'sit deploying her to battle somewhere. Kinda a cliffhanger, but I'm sure that story has a happy ending, just like Frostleaf's gameplay surely will. Yeah, no. It's not weird for release or year 1 characters to become outdated design-wise as games find their identity. Warframe's made drastic reworks for their frames, while FGO has given massive buffs to a select few favorites, and let most others wither on the vine. HG actually has an impressive amount of relative success. Ifrit, Nightingale, and Saria are still solid. Ethan wasn't a release character, but he's a pretty good 4-star for year 1. Most of the physical DPSs lost the lottery(Exu, Chen, Hellagur), most especially Frostleaf, since her other niche for single target slow/bind on a ground operator isn't very good in practice either. She doesn't even have good multipliers to make her a good target for buffknights. I'm just hoping her eventual alter will be good.

she's got a decent story arc written for her. After her operator record, she's deployed on a small operation where she finally realizes how normalized war had been for her before Rhodes Island. After that, she seems to have become a prime example of the quality of life on Rhodes; appearing in a couple others' stories and usually trying to resolve their issues with her chill and kind outlook. I guess my point is that her story does have a happy ending. Despite experiencing 6-7 years of war, she's stabilized as an operator with strong morals and a positive mindset.

@@juiceboxgary7555 Sure, but regarding her operator record story specifically, I think it's funny, and intentionally a bit cruel, that it ends with a positive vibe, with Frostleaf being so excited to get deployed again. It's clear in her operator files, that it's right before the event where Frostleaf breaks down crying in a battlefield. Dramatic irony and all that. Rhodes Island is definitely the happy ending for a lot of operators, but I'd like to see the op team A1 treatment for her. Gavial got to be a guard. I wanna see a senior Frostleaf that actually uses her arts to freeze people. The module doesn't count. With a 25% chance and 1.5s cold, it's such massive RNG to freeze anything.

@@cupcake5478 You and me both. As of chapter 4, she wasn't too active with her arts in general. But since she was able to counter Frostnova's, I can only imagine the potential if she got some actual training in for it. 🥂

@@b1acksteve VladZerker has had 2 np strengthenings. Heracles, also from release, has had 0. It's not fair/evenly distributed. Lasagna's given a lot of buffs to get older servants strength to be on par with current standards, but they need the constant buffs because the difficulty keeps inflating. You used to be able to buffstack on Caligula to 1-shot the strongest bosses, now he's useless. My favorite servants like Ushi and Atalante keep falling behind farther and farther, and introducing 2-1-3 farm nodes didn't help either. Maybe I'm just a salty quick player, but at least HG can create low defense, high HP enemies like Wither Maws, and flying towers to keep Exusiai viable. Or give old operators modules. Sometimes they simply can't fix a fundamental problem with a given game's design. Frostleaf is as unsalvageable as Ushiwaka rider's star gen.

Imo the module should have been skills are arts and inflicts cold. This doesn't solve her problems but does wonders for her themes.

Agreed on both. Giving her arts damage upon skill activation and making her cold debuff more consistent would help her so much.

Honestly, modules are kinda bs in my opinion Like some ops get most broken, game changing modules Other get nice qol mods,with buff to their kit And rest get +X to their numbers and that's it Also, wtf is shinings module, skill based effects, the man behind designing modules is most definitely on crack

​@@b1acksteve fr! Grani is just weird - they approached the character design on an archetype that *specifically* requires leaning into offensive stats to build DP and thought "defense, defense is good!" 😅

She was my bottom lane holder on Anni 1. She was at E1 lvl60 with skill 1 at lv7. Without her i would have no way to clear it. Even after getting Lapp, i still gave her what she deserved, E2 max s1m3. Thank you Frostleaf.

If adjustment of operators exist on arknight she should be on the top of the list but as of now the adjustment that they did so far to operators was by archetype.

Sadly, hypergryph doesn't do operator balancing. She will stay like that until an alter form pulls her out of the "saddest AK operator" bracket.

The only chance she will ever have is to become a six star. Low rarity units are never going to get uplifted THAT MUCH by modules. Even the best ones have modules that mostly augment their good capabilities at most.

Comparing *any* OP to Ethan in terms of stalling is disingenuous at best, malicious at worst. That's on the same level as comparing excrements on a stick with Mlynar dmg.

Isn't that just common knowledge to compare operators with skills made to do the same thing? Same like how we compare basically every operators with the same "purpose" In fact, your conclusion of a stick v mlynar felt more disingenuous

Here's a fun thought. Frostleaf gave Frostnova a run for her money, she actually held her own decently enough. Granted Frostnova wasn't going all out or anything. HOWEVER, Talulah stated herself if Frostnova went all out she could take her down. So that would put Frostleaf lore wise under Frostnova. Meanwhile game wise, some twink fanboy with a mace with 0 feats outdamages and out utilizes her completely.

She offer close to nothing outside of the mediocre slow as a starter, while being in the same starting squad that give you a support voucher so you can get orchid. Even midnight (a 3☆) outperformed her by having higher dps, better skill, doesn't cost hope, and actrually have a talent. You litterally have no reason to ever pick her as a starter outside of waifu perference (which is irrelevant)
