Super helpful, thank you! I’m 5’3 and have to spend a small fortune on tailoring most of my items however wanted to mention the Arket cropped straight jeans - these are perfect for shorter ladies. No need to hem or roll up, they fit beautifully!

Unpopular opinion (maybe) but I actually LOVE the blazers on you. The sleeves are a little long (like if I were you I’d want to get them tailored) but I think the fit is 😚👌🏻 but then I’m having a super oversized moment so 😅🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

I also think the blazers looked amazing on Lumiere. I don't think they were crazily oversized, to be honest. On the opposite, the right amount of oversize to look modern.

Love how in depth this brand review this was especially your knowledge on fabrics! I am the same petite frame and can agree with all points - love the pants but jackets so oversized! X

Great informative review, Helen. I have never tried Arket but will have a look. I’m not really petite but have a long body and shorter legs. I find online shopping so hard as returning something is incredibly difficult when I’m at work full time every day. Post office hours are frustratingly short. I miss a weekend day of mooching around the bricks and mortar stores, feeling the fabrics, trying things on. That was such a lovely thing to do on a rare day off….sigh…

Honestly, couldn't help but laugh at myself when I was filming the cutaways as it reminded me of Baymax, the disney cartoon when I'm wearing one of the Arket jackets haha. Glad it's helped you out as I want to love them so much, but the fits just don't quite work.

Love the Arket blazers I have three of and they are by far the best quality on the high street. I’m also 5’3 160cm in height. I think they look gorgeous on you would recommend getting them tailored on arms.

As petite, I loved this video! However, it's also totally up to personal preference. I own both those blazers, and at 157cm I actually like the oversize fit and longer length (fits more like a jacket than a blazer). I hemmed the sleeves on both (from the shoulders, to keep the nice wrist details).

Such a helpful video! Props to you for not shying away from posing in ill-fitting garments for our 'benefit', thank you! Haha. I'm 168cm so not considered petite, but having said that, I haven't ordered anything from Arket yet even though i've been considering it for a while, solely based on my experience ordering from its sibling brand & Other Stories - Stockholm edit (always the same issue with the length/sizing! Not with LA/Paris ones however). Amazing quality no doubt - just can't help but wonder if it's just made by tall folks for tall folks :P

Thank you Helen! I am a 5’7, and usually a size of UK 10, quite big as an Asian, even though, some of the Arket clothes fits GIANT on me, especially those named as “Loose fit” or “oversized “. Your traumatized experience brought me back those memories SO vividly !!! I do like Arket’s concept, but think Arket delivered okay to nice quality in most natural fiber products according to the price, in my opinion , the values are more reasonable when on sale. I am still trying this brand in every seasonal sale, and have learned now to downsize 2 (M to XS, or 38 to 34) for those fits more generously, and downsize one (S or 36) mostly.😉

Actually, the beige oversized linen blazer looks great on you! It gives off that cool, androgynous vibe to it. Also, the grey t-shirt fits you well - very vintage French chic when tucked in a high-waisted flare jeans and paired with heeled espadrilles and a basket bucket bag! If you want a quality basic piece, Arket is the way to go! I'm petite as well (1,57m) and I own a few Arket pieces (had to shorten the hem of trousers but not the cropped jeans).

You're right, the jeans actually don't need tailoring when worn with a small heel for me :) As to the blazer, I think it is ok, but I can't help but feel there are styles out there that I may prefer to it so will be on the lookout for something similar that just fits me a little more the way I like :)

I personally prefer oversized blazers and almost always shop in the men's section, vintage men's, or even raid my husband's closet though I stick to pieces that are not too long. H&M has a range of blazers for men that are shorter (S) than the regular sizing. I have a couple of pieces from them and I love 'em!

You should do a review on best places to get trousers as a petit women! I also struggle so much to find ones where I don’t need to alter loads

Whilst this is a decent review of Arket, it is important to highlight that the Arket aesthetic is not the usual style you go for. I am shorter than you (5'1) and also own some of the pieces you ordered (blazer, tailored trousers, tshirt, coat). The oversized aesthetic works for me. Granted some trousers need to be hemmed, I always go size 34 in Arket and it has never failed me. I hope this comment is useful for any petite ladies who are interested in Arket.

I would LOVE to see a series or just a video where you style different body types and sizes and shapes. I appreciate how you make your recommendations based off of height in this video. Personally, I'm tall and curvy, and I cannot find ANY youtubers who have my body type and dress with a classy style. Most of them use SHEIN and BOOHOO or Fashion Nova ... not my vibe. Anyway, would love to see how you'd style someone who looks like me! ❤️

I think because I only have experience styling my petite self, I'm not sure I would add any value when styling other body types compared to someone who does have that body type if that makes sense. I would love to in the short term future do a stylist course, and that might give me some more confidence to take on this video idea :) x

I think blazer looks very nice in you .I am 156 cm and buy blazers Cos or Arket in size 34. Arms a bit long on me. But I never wear it like full length. I always pull them a bit up in order to make 3/4 length. And I have the same striped sweater . I went one size up to have it even more oversize😅 so it depends on the taste 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am the same height as you, though a lot older, so this was very useful for me. I like the trousers and the jackets, but not the tee shirts. This summer I bought a couple of Arket’s racer back tanks, and love the fit of those, whilst the tank you ordered looks much too big on you. The linen items aren’t right for you, which is sad, as normally I love linen clothes! The stripey jumper looks like one I have seen on a few influencers, but they are taller and can get away with the over-large sizing. I love the green of your cardigan, though for sone reason I’m not a fan of Sezanne

Where is the two strap sandals from? They're very cute!

I’m constantly looking for long-sleeved T-shirts for winter, but in colors, right now, a pale pink. I ordered one from Amazon, I had to get a 3XL to fit (I’m a US medium), it’s excruciatingly tight, but it goes almost to my knees! Unbelievable. I wish I were 5’7” or 5’8”! I routinely have to shorten my trousers by 9” or more, depending the heel heigh I want to wear. This often ruins the shape, like in bootcuts.

Thank you for this, I'm 158cm and have been trying to figure out whether Arket would on shorter heights! With the trousers, are they loose around the waist for you? What's your waist measurement? I'm a 60cm waist and a little worried that there will be gaping at the waist 😭😂

Hey Eileen :) Yay, glad it's helpful for sizing. I don't find the dress particularly sheer when trying it on. I think with any white, it will always be slightly sheer but I don't think it would show nude underwear/shorts inside :) The skirt is also quite full, which just makes it more opaque as well compared to if it was a single layer x

I think it's true to size, took my usual size and very happy with the fit :)

I’m an inch taller, but have a really short upper torso. H&M items are always too long-waisted, low-cut, or the straps fall down, so I was curious about this its sister brand. Thanks for the review. Maybe you could recommend some petite-friendly international brands? I have a huge problem finding high-quality blazers, a 5-inch shoulder seam seems to be the standard, but I need a 4-inch or less. Thanks.

I would love to get some of the Arket blazers as well, but I'm 164cm and as you said, they dont look oversized on me, they look overwhelming 😂. Its such a pity though, they have such beautiful colours, like the chocolate brown ... I thought about getting it altered, but the tailor would have to literaly put it completely apart in the back/shoulders area and that just does not seem worth it ...

Exactly the same for me. Narrowing the shoulders is a $150 tailoring job where I live, it doubles the cost if the blazer, or nearly. I’m doing this on two blazers myself, it’s an incredible amount of work, and they can only be brought in an inch, anyway.

I am 164cm too and I got 2 oversized blazers from Arket (I got size 38). I absolutely love these blazers as they look the exactly oversized way over my shoulders as I wanted. They are so versatile and the length it’s perfect for a longer skirt underneath:)

Thanks for sharing, this has been my experience too, as you saw :) I honestly LOVE the quality and the look of it on others, but just didn't work out for me due to the cut. Tailoring blazers can be very expensive where I am, it would be just as much as the blazer itself so not something I would do :)

I thought I was tr for the longest time because I have a strong jawline and sharp shoulders until I got typed so many different types by others, now I'm just left confused. Asians especially east Asian facial features are more on the yin side so I feel it becomes confusing sometimes to type us. Because even a yang type has really yin dominant face. I have seen the collared stripe knit all over Instagram. Arket re-released it as it sold out in Europe and it is flooding Insta again. It looks silly on my and I'm 5'3. Plus just not a nice fit as it is too over weaved and the sleeves are ridiculous:). I went for a hoodie instead, that they have just released with a navy stripe with side slits. It fits far better because you can tuck the front (if you want) and it doesn't cling to your hips. If you want that relaxed oversized look.

My experience with Arket clothes is that quality is lower the full price, hence I tend to buy their clothes on sale.

I’ve just discovered your channel. I’m 5’ 4” with a smallish frame and I’m on the cusp of petit I guess. Your video really enlightened me about why I have trouble with some brands which obviously suit taller women. And I’m getting on in years but finally understand the reasons! So I find some tops fit at the shoulders and chest but then don’t fit at the hip and now I see it’s due to being too long and not me having put on extra pounds hahaha! Thank you 🙏

@@DailyHelenJ I live in Paris and I'm also a petite(1m58), I find however the XS of Soeur is fabulous. Their boyish design and taste, it's wonderful. If you've get a chance to try their pieces, I would love to see a try on haul. So far, this brand is so low key I haven't noticed any blogger doing this. Might be a good chance !

I did not know that Arket is owned by H&M .

I always had this idea of Arket being great for everyone but now I see it might not be. I'm 164cm so maybe more average height? But I don't find that boxy silhouette's look good on me lol. If I were to buy anything, maybe the blazers (I'm always looking out for nice blazers) or the trousers might be it... The t-shirt and the jackets are a definite no no. I hate when t-shirts fit tightly on my hips lol

What a coincidence! I had been eyeing Arket’s trousers for the last week becaus I wanted a good quality tailored trousers to invest in that would look good with my silhouette. So it was so funny to see this video. It came out on the 19th of August so feel like this was the last video that convinced me to buy from them becaus I had been searching everywhere for videos and reviews on Arket specifically on their trousers. So on the 21st of August I caved and bought the black wool flannel trousers in a size 34. I was really worried about the length of the trousers becaus I’m 164cm too so I guess I’ll find out when I get them. I’ll update you if they’re good for us shorties otherwise tailoring will have to do but as for their blazers I would go into stores and try them on if that’s available where you live. Unfortunately for me it’s very hard to find blazers that fit I have a petite frame and I’m short so it’s hard to find a fitted blazer that won’t accidentally look oversized on me but if I were to buy a blazer from them I’d definitely have to have a look in their stores. I hope any of this helps!

I am a plus size and a petite with heavy thighs. I 😭 when I see slim people wear loose trousers.

I'm 5'1 (155cm) and never feel the urge to try any Arket. The sea of neutral/beige linen just feels so blah, like it sucks the life out of you 😅

why is arket made this way lol, isnt average women height 5'4. Their cloth are made for 5'6+

Styles just aren’t good for us petites right now, the oversized look is just too much for us. I’m not buying a new blazer until I can get one that fits properly, this oversized trend will soon look very dated anyway. I have to have the shoulder seam at the natural shoulder break, and the length at the leg break or higher, or I just look like a little girl playing dress-up. Cute at your age, maybe, at mine, 61, not so much.🙂

I always love your insights, it is so so helpful to me. Can definitely see where you're coming from, I find a lot of styles that are meant to be 'oversized' absolutely too large. Hopefully there are some other brands out there that do a more petite friendly alternative.

Their sizing is so bad! I don’t understand why they can’t tell you what size the model is! That is such a simple thing to do.
