Arkansas Traveler - clawhammer minstrel banjo
Музыка
Playing Arkansas Traveler (as learned from Brad Leftwich's Round Peak banjo book) on my fretless tackhead minstrel banjo made by Terry Bell. My phone does not even come close to doing justice to the real life sound of this banjo, which is absolutely fantastic.

Love your playing and sound.... I play Bluegrass five string Scruggs/ Reno style but never ever could get the hang of Frailing.... Wish I could, you make it look so easy.... I was playing long before you were born and still can't do it....
Love that low, mellow sound of the banjer.
A beautiful banjo and inspiring playing!
I hope you're still playing!
Love what you are doing with this old friend of a tune .. Terry must be happy to hear what you are doing with his banjo ...I have a little 25.5 "string length one from him set up up regular pitch .... I really love mine as well .. Thanks for this ,, Guy

You are awesome.

love it great job I love the more mellow sound. I play it in two finger style.
Thats sweet, I love it.
I can tell it has a great resonance. At first I thought it was a gourd banjo.

Those deep tones are not in the digital playbook. Thank you very much.

John Welborn if I has to guess I'd say it just sounds like dGDF#A

My guess is double-C tuning tuned down to about B-flat, so fBbFBbC but maybe open tuning so maybe the C is tuned up to D. Update: the "Galax lick" parts look like it's being "fretted" at where the second fret would be, so that suggests double-C (though tuned down).

Actually she says it's out of the Brad Leftwich book, so that would be straight double-D, but it's tuned down.
