Arkansas poultry company closure leaves farmers high and dry, 1.3 million birds euthanized

Fallout from the closure of Northwest Arkansas poultry company Cooks Venture in November 2023 continues to affect farmers who had contracts with the company.
Poultry growers say mismanagement and miscommunication from both the company and the Arkansas Department of Agriculture has left them to deal with the company's mess.
Late last year, the state euthanized about 1.3 million chickens being grown under contract by poultry growers for Decatur-based Cooks Venture.

Farmers need to stop relying on the govt & big corporations & switch to regenerative farming. The govt [& their taxpayer subsidized corporate prostitutes] create more problems & inevitably control commodity prices that ultimately pay farmers like crap & keep them in-line under their control. Farmers need to come together & buck the system, put their capital in their own farmer-owned cooperatives such as processing facilities. If you’re small enough, butcher your own meat & avoid these constant man-made/artificially created problems like “bird influenza.” I’ve never met a regenerative farmer who has these kind of problems. Not to mention, they don’t have the over-capitalized input$ y’all have with these broken industrialized systems. Y’all have sold out.

It was a huge deception that started decades ago. The "big corporations" are actually govt. entities with commercial-appearing masks. Think about it, who's got to build stuff for the military? GM, Ford, and whatever the hell Stylantis is (used to be Chrysler). Is there a person, a human at the top that owns those "big corporations" that looks anything like you or me? No. As I said, they are puppet companies wearing commercial masks, govt. agencies in disguise.
