Arkansas Mining for Clear Crystals at the TWIN CREEK CRYSTAL MINE | CRYSTAL DIGGING GUIDE Episode 04

In this episode of the Ultimate Arkansas Crystal Digging Guide, I go to the Twin Creek Quartz Crystal Mine to excavate my own private premium crystal pocket.
Join me as I find plenty of clear crystal points, many clusters and a few rare Phantom Quartz Crystals.
Twin Creek Mine is located in Montgomery County near Mount Ida, Arkansas. This area is known to be one of the best quartz crystal deposits in the world. It is part of the largest singular deposit of quartz on this planet, stretching all the way from Oklahoma to East of Little Rock. Some of the best quality clear crystals can be self-collected around Hot Springs National Park and Mount Ida.
After a short drive thru the Ouachita National Forest, you will reach this rock hounding site. After arrival and check-in, the mine host or mine owner Bobby Fecho will show you the private dig site for the day. You can collect as many stones and crystals as you would like for a certain fee. The allotted digging time at the actual mine is approx. 7 hours. Be there at opening time to get the full time. Make sure to make a reservation for digging a private premium pocket at the mine (No reservations needed for the regular public dig site at Twin Creek Mine). (Filmed in July 2017)
This peculiar crystal mine is known for many Specialty Master Crystal Formations such as Lemurian Quartz, Manifestation crystals, Double Terminated crystals and more.

Thank you, yes Oslo is an ok town. And crystal exploration in Norway can be exciting, but not as nice as your videos show us. And there is little chance of finding gems. So I stick to gold prospecting and crystal "mining" :) I had a roadtrip in - 95 (California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, N-S Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois) But did not drive Arkansas. My dream is just that state and maybe visit the Crater of Diamond Arkansas, as I get update mail every week, and Colorado. Btw, Thank You for reply :)

Thank you As long as a crystal is in the right conditions it will most likely re-heal and re-crystallize on broken surfaces. Generally, there needs to be a certain amount of heat and pressure ad well as heavy solutions of silicon dioxide for growth to happen. Some people have reported for crystals to grow or change after extraction. Ultimately I believe that there are infinite possibilities in this world. 😉 ✨💫⭐️

If you don’t mind me asking, how much was this for a private pocket? I’m seriously debating making a trip just for this!

  • @CrystalsofArkansas

You can choose the price and will get a pocket according to that. Private pockets start at $300 up to $1000 (and more). Keep in mind, there is always variation and a certain unpredictability. This pocket is representative of a mid-range dig fee.

M Bormann The public mines offer digs at their tailings piles for around $25 per day. Doing a private pocket dig is more expensive and only available at certain mines.

I was there last year. Great finds. I spoke with the owner on advice on how to dig. Due to the pocket formation, the largest crystals are at the bottom of the pocket, with the smallest at the top.

The crystals at Twin Creek are just beautiful. We found so many just laying on top of the ground as we were walking into the public dig area. Bobby and Dixie are the best. We found a nice pocket and filled the back of my truck up with totes full..we went prepared! LOL
