Great matches! I had a game lately where I used the sun bear (or beer as JD calls it) early to get species diversity and asso at five just after. I think it was worth it. Was it too greedy?

I think it's fine. Sun Bear into Species 5 is a move I would do at any stage of the game
Aren’t border spaces only the hexes that have at least 1 side that is not a hex? The water hexes wouldn’t count as border spaces because they’re surrounded on all sides by another hex.
One questions that really bugs me.. At 21:22 for example, why build 2 pavillions in the north and in the south in the place of the pav, wouldnt a kiosk be better?

There comes a point in time where it's just not worth it to build kiosks any more. We build them to earn money, right. When someone is at 30-40 points you will probably only have 1 break left before the game ends. Then you are trading 2 money immediately to get maybe 2-3 money back during the next break. Pavilions are good at all stages of the game. Trading 2 money for 1 point is always beneficial. It is a better exchange rate than you get playing nearly any animal. Most of the time when I take a build action I will try to build a pavilion, but if I don't get to build a kiosk I don't mind so much. Specifically for these games as well JD is being very careful about leaving empty hexes on his map for the Native Farm Animals end game points. If you don't plan on surrounding a kiosk then they become much worse - which is another reason why you won't see as many in these replays.
In the first match Jd got 10 appeal and 1 cp for his elephant. Less than he got for the chickens!
