You did a good job, nice breakdown. This is the most extensive film. Watching, researching, and sharing with my family and friends that I've done since covid. When the Cardinals drafted Marvin Harrison Jr. I let out the biggest yell since I came off the ventilator. It hurts to do so but it was worth it. I have been wanting him on my team for well over a year. I was a huge fan of his dad 20 years ago. I did not know who mad Max was, but after watching film on him, I am not disappointed in the slightest. That young man is going to be legendary. The one thing that most of these players have in common is intelligence, effort and passion for the game. I don't miss Steve Keim at all.

Thank you for the comment! I completely agree, I think some fans got caught up in a few of the bigger names, making them have a bit of a negative reaction for guys like Melton or even Robinson. But after watching a few minutes of film you can tell what the front office saw in those guys. I'm in the same boat as far as research and film. Really enjoyed the entire draft lead up this year and so happy with the Cardinals result!

Just really liking what the new Cardinals front office is doing. They are finally doing a rebuild, a true rebuild, through the draft. Never seen it happen before. They always try some big move to only be mediocre the next year. Like giving up their first round pick for Hollywood Brown, or signing over the hill players like JJ Watt. Sure it might have gotten the fans excited and it may have helped right away, but as time went on, injuries, lack of production etc. Then Cards stuck with bad contracts with players who no longer are an asset to the team. So the new front office came in last season and knew the season was a throw away season and instead of reaching, trying to salvage another mediocre year, they just bit down and took the horrible year and instead dumped big contracts, got rid of potentially bad locker room players and let the over the hill guys go. Cleaning up the pay roll and at the same time, drafting young players and letting them get valuable playing time. Now with their second draft, they draft for needs and build their team a little more. They are still far from having a good team, but they are doing it one step at a time and its so refreshing. A young team full of high character players who are hungry to play. Also, look at this past FA class. No reaches, no big contracts tied up with players who wont help this team in the long run. Just good depth players who stay healthy. Cards will most likely have another losing season, but they are closer to having a really good team. Another good draft or 2 and then you will start seeing this team go after the final pieces. With the pay roll cleaned and a great core of youngsters, the Cards will then start to get the big name vets who can bring it all together. 2 years from now is my guess when this starts.

Thank you for the comment, I 100% agree with you. For this new staff to commit to a re-tool is very important, as you said they could've tried to squeeze one more mediocre year out of that old core, but they didn't. Monti has been very smart with his moves and they obviously take a while to play out (ex. Isaiah Simmons trade) but it's really refreshing to know they have a plan instead of just making a few moves here and there.

No disrespect to Conner at all. I honestly meant more on third down, if you watch Benson's college highlights they used him on screens and split him out wide, and he was great. Doesn't mean anything for JC, he will still be used receiving for sure, but last season Demarcado was the 3rd and long back, what I was trying to say is that Benson can fill that role going forward (along with Michael Carter)

There was a few issues I had with the draft, but it's really hard to find any flaws with those first 4 selections. Maybe the move down in the 2nd bothered some with McKinstry/DeJean on the board, but Melton should at least be a capable starter with some CB1 upside. My biggest problems come with the next few picks, most particularly with Adams as Beebe, Haynes, and Amegedjie were all on the board at that point. Adams better be an ELITE run blocker or that pick will age poorly. The Tip Reiman pick might've been a reach as well but I can see a very useful role for him if Petzig plans to use him in a Juszczyk/Ricard FB/hybrid TE way. His measurables are very similar to Gronk, just nothing like his college production. A few of the later picks were solid as well, but this class will all come down to those first 3 selections. If DRob is Cameron Jordan lite and Melton proves his draft slot, then yeah this class should help AZ for years to come
