Aries Spears continued to share his thoughts on the new wave of rappers during his most recent sit-down with VladTV, where he specifically spoke about Lil Yachty and Lil Uzi Vert's appearances on Hot 97. Spears said that he feels like the new rappers are "moist," referencing Lil Uzi Vert calling a DJ Premier beat an "old man beat," and Lil Yachty being thrown off by people hyping him up in the background.
During the conversation, Aries shared his thoughts on Eminem's Trump freestyle, which he thought was the Detroit rapper getting emotional and "showing his white side." To hear more, including his thoughts on JAY-Z's new music, hit the above clip.

Thank you Aries Spears!! I’m so glad somebody is finally talking about the state of hip-hop today! 90% of these new “ Wanabee” hip-hop artists are soft, week, water down. All the real connection to rap music and hip-hop has been lost in this era. There’s no realness or originality because they all sound exactly the same. I turn on the radio and it’s like listening to one long song that lasts for hours.

Remember Shook Ones? Hard to believe they were the same age as these young rappers. Men back in the day grew up quicker, dudes today have a prolonged adolescence. And honestly, I blame the southern rappers. They birthed these new kids.

It started when corporations started buying all the radio stations leading to the same 5 tracks being played over and over for months at a time. The same happened with record companies, you need to have a "hit" or else you're done before you can even build a foundation. So now instead of regions having their own identity like it used to be, they've conditioned these kids to all sound the same. They chose the South's lack of lyricism but party heavy content as the benchmark. But we overall as Hip Hop lovers failed as well. Because the majority accepted this shit.

Nope your wrong it is a young persons game, in fact music in general is. Why? because young people have the time and the money(living with or off of their parents) to purchase music. Adults have adult shit to do i.e. work, pay bills, earn money so their kids can spend it on i-Tunes etc....Hip-Hop and music in general only offers a career life span on average of about 20 years at best (Jay-Z, Eminem, Outkast etc...) thats start to finish why? Because eventually they turn into the shit your parents listen to that you (when you're young 14-25yrs old) don't want to hear. Andre 3000 was 100% correct when he said that Hip-hop has always been about being "Hip" and when you get old you just are not hip. By the time the younger generation finds out that the in fact some of the old school cats are cool, they are now old and out of the money wasting youthful phase of their life.

4:44 translates to the streets because just like Jay a lot of us grew up too. From Vol 1 as a kid in the 90s to 4:44 at 30yrs old it was good to hear!! It translates. Especially if you're part street part bookworm by nature anyways which a lot of us tend to be. Adaption is learned mad early it's almost like survival tactics taught in the military with a "urban" twist. So yeah, it translates.

This is so spot on. 90% of the new stuff is garbage just like rock and roll in the 1980s when then started wearing makeup and dressing like women. I believe it's slowly the beginning of the end and hopefully a new genre comes out of this.

Never could get into Diplomats. They got blessed with some dope beats but as a collection their rhymes were lacking. My opinion anyway.

@@Lord_Bibulous I hear u man and ya i never really thoughts diplomats were lyrically the best but like u said they came out with those rediculous just blaze & heatmakerz beats. Just a unique sound and style that blew my mind and i love Dip Set for that. But i respect everyone has different taste.
