    Rashad, gameplan to beat Jones: 1. Stage a fake robbery everyday in the week leading up to the fight where Jones is. 2. When fight begins, start with some "accidental" eye pokes. Pretend they weren’t on purpose/act concerned. 3. Step 3 may be the hardest. Take Jones down; give him a "bisping” knee. Remember, act confused/look disappointed. Take the point deduction in stride. 4. Finally, land a huge groin strike. Jones won’t be expecting it, so swing for the fences. Evans, Champion 2011

    Everyone saying that Shogun looked like shit and didn't throw one leg kick missed the one leg kick he did throw which Jones used to get a takedown, I am a Shogun fan since Pride and I was hoping for him to win, but Jones shut him down tonight and was obviously prepared for everything that Shogun was going to do. I could like to congradulate Jon Jones as his unparralelled success is a testament to the hard work he has put in and his great personality.

    The following things make Jon Jones, in my opinion, the best pound for pound; 1- He has four equally effective limbs 2- Good outside striking 3- Beautiful inside elbows and knees 4- World class wrestling 5- Super strength 6- Improving BJJ and ground and pound 7- Hard work ethic 8- He fears his opponent(and uses it to his advantage)

    @JG129 I agree. GSP vs Silva is a fantasy fight. Its a "what if" fight, and not really necessary. They're both completely dominant in their respective divisions, and the only real way to know who the better fighter is would be to have them fight, even though losing that fight would not take anything away from either fighter. They're both proven champions, and the way I see it, there's nothing to prove between the two of them. However, I'm a die hard GSP fan, so I'd love to see him win =D

    Dana is right on that, Cro Cop is last of the old school pride because just like he said the newer bread is coming faster, stronger and bigger, though I agree with other let him have that final fight before stepping away from Octagon

    @BeyondRelativity strikeforce isn't on the ufc's level, but the reasons people compare strikeforce to the ufc is: 1. PrideFC no longer around 2. UFC always preaching how they have the best fighters and they have the best competition best fights etc but some events are just rubbish and shouldn't really be PPV (ufc: fight for the troops, ufc 119 etc) which from a fan perspective is a slap in the face.

    @Fazotronic True, Then they need to find more big fighters. Easier said than done but still I'd like to see the HW div more stacked than it currently is. That being said, it is much better now than just a few years ago. I'd like to see Cain vs Carwin. Both guys throw bombs for punches. Cain has the obvious cardio advantage, Carwin might have a slightly harder punch though.

    I have more and more respect for Dana as I hear what he has to say on things. Major props to Dana for giving Mirko props. That is a great way to put, "........this last couple of fights have been a testament to how good this guy really was when he was in his prime" all these ignorant people typing dumb shit on KZread. How can you disrespect Mirko Cro Cop. He is a warrior and no man can say he isn't. now all Dana has to do is give props to a guy everyone else gives major props to Fedor

    @matrixlone dont forget his two fights at 205 that help his case for being the #1p4p...imo i think that means a lot It just shows that he could move up a weight class and still do damage like no other...the way he toyed with Forrest before knocking him out was something you dont see everyday with a guy like Forrest

    Surprising to hear about this Rashad Evans beef with Greg Jackson...I think Rashad will be training at Trevor Wittman's Grudge Training Center full time now. Maybe it has something to do with Wittman and Jackson because Wittman came out and said that teammates should fight each other if it's for a title. Kinda rooting for Rashad now, I feel bad for him, being betrayed by Jackson for Jones...

    I guess I'm not only frustrated Shogun lost, but by the fact that was a one sided fight... We all knew the end result within 10 seconds of round one. Shogun did not live up to his word when he became a champion to always bring a spectacle to the octagon. Can only expect Rua learns from his mistakes and comes back stronger. Rant Over!

  • @jparra20

    @jacobduque YES, i thought about that also because i don't think anyone in the division can't beat him, MAYBE rashad can take it to the ground because i don't think rashad can stand with him unless he's in clinch range other than that rashad will get picked apart. : ( Anderson Silva might have a better "REACH" advantage. and I think it would be a better match-up compared to GSP because GSP is purely @ 170lbs i think if GSP gains the extra 15 pounds I dont think he will be fast enough for A S

  • @jibberingjon
    @jibberingjon13 жыл бұрын

    @Njderig I think he meant to have anyone that can hang with him. The only person I see that could take out Jones is maybe an in shape Rua that didn't gas 1 minute into the fight, MAYBE Lyoto, Rashad I think has the tools, and possibly Anderson Silva. However, if chael sonnen can hold him down for 24 minutes, what is Jon Jones going to do to him?

    Of all the guys in the light heavy weight division, the one guy I think has the best chance is Randy Couture. He is the only guy that I don't think Jones could control as easily as everyone else. Couture would press him up against the cage and dirty box him all day. It would be tough for Jones to take Randy down since he's so good at Greco.

  • @Njderig
    @Njderig13 жыл бұрын

    @wewantgore666 I sort of agree with you about the HW division only because it's from 206-265 lbs. That is a 60 pound range. The LW is a 10lb range, WW and MW div are a 15 lb range, the LHW div is a 20 lb range so it only makes sense to divide the HW div into two smaller sub categories. Maybe say 206-235 could be Mid-Heavyweight and 236-265 be a true heavyweight. And then a super heavy could be 266-300 for monsters like Brock Lesnar so he can fight at his natural weight. What do you think?

  • @riceburner888

    If Jones dispatches Evans in similar fashion and continues to defend his belt in dominant fashion similar to Silva or GSP, people can start to clamor for a superfight for Jones against A. Silva or either JDS or Cain. Given that Silva is more than a decade Jones' senior, if Jones can defeat JDS or Cain in their prime would be far more impressive.

    Congrats to Jones! Respect to Rua for agreeing to fight this beast. Coming off injury, knew it was risky, took him on anyway. Jones brings a lot to the LHW division -- physical, mental, spiritual. He's the total package IMO. Rashad is not a true friend, like he claimed to be, but business is business. Jones will defeat Evans, then go on to fight Rampage or another top contender. He will dominate the division, then fight Silva for big a payday. Eventually move up to HW, as his body puts on mass.

    @Njderig I agree with all of that, but i also agree that Jones is to big for LHW even tho he can make weight... His ability to wrestle combined with his size clearly was the down fall of Rua as like the Fedor and Bigfoot fight (Bf had a 60 pounds of muscle on fedor) Im not taking anything away from Jones because he is a great fighter but the size of Jones clearly speaks for the lack of energy later on in the fight.

    I want to see Silva vs Jones fuck GSP vs Silva., Jones might end up doing the same thing to Evans, Rua needs to get back into the octagon asap, the lay off really had its effect you could see it after the first round, he looked so slow. @RobertLeroy99 Silva has said he planned on retiring at the end of his contract. Then he signed an extension. Ive heard him say he plans on fighting til he's 50. Everything you hear about him you gotta take with a grain of salt. But Jones/Silva would be deadly. I'm worried Jones' size would be just too much for him. Also, Jones has got to go through a lot of people before they make a superfight. Rashad, Rampage, Machida, Bader II, and maybe even Thiago Silva, and Griffin. And can't forget Davis

    After hearing about Nate the Great going to 170, another intresting scenario brewing here then guys, Thats GSP`s division. If he wants that title and gets the opportunity there will be another dilemma for Jacksons. If I where Jackson I would figure out a way to deal with these situations with all the fighters in one room. Maybee buy another camp which would still be Jacksons so the other guy can train with no communication back and forth. Toss a coin for who trains at the second gym.

    @BalanceOfTheCards I already explained this but i'ma explain it again. Listen carefully, the guys that are ranked top 10 right now, weren't ranked top 10 in 2006..or 07 or 08 or 09. Nobody knew who JDS, Cain...etc was Mark Hunt was considered a top HW, he was a K1 champ and had a record of 5-2 in mma. Tim Sylvia was top 10 in 2008, he was the UFC champ a year prior and just fought Big Nog for the Interim belt. Arlovski was either #5 or 6 HW in the world when he fought Fedor. They weren't cans.
