For real! When ever I mix paint to make skin shades, I never use black to darken because it doesn't work, just makes it an icky grey.

They mean to mix the black with other darker shades and the white with lighter shades, not to mix both. It’s to help with diversity ❤️

I feel like rem has a better shade range and for a lot of dark skinned women the black doesn’t turn it gray it makes it match their dark skin. I feel like it’s the only brand other than fenty that really puts in the work for being inclusive

She has a great range for people that are true neutrals as well. I have the tiniest bit of warmth but I look so pale and the medium 1w is the first thing that matches my actual skin. It always ends up being too warm or too cool in other brands the lightskin native Jewish girlies suffer too

They both gorgeous. I been looking more ways to put on make up. I even thought about shaving my and cleaning my face to. It this wonderful people come here and help a lot of us out. Before I didn’t know how to put on makeup but know 1 yr I have improved my hard work. I hope soon I can put fake lashes and eyeliner on. Thank you so much what you all of you do.

I know it looked more full coverage. I was so confused why it looked so much different the second time. Really without a wear test I would say the better one is what each individual person is looking for, fuller coverage or more natural.

I can't speak to darker complexions but most brands don't make a shade light enough for me and a white base would be really helpful

The black side is perfect for very dark skinned girls to contour. And the white is perfect for very light white girls to highlight. In winter all my highlighters are too dark for me… don’t knock the white and black shades. You just don’t know their purpose

The reason I like the black and white concealers is for those who truly do like mixing those into their stuff. For super dark skin tones, that black will make a beautiful contour believe it or not, and for very pale skin tones, that white will create very nice highlight. These two shades aren't for mid tones like tans and semi deeps. I will say, if you're just going for a midtone shade, bars is the better way to go, 100%

Yes the Nars one I actually think looks quite a lot better, there is no shade there like it is on the other side and it looks a little smoother or ”filtered” kind of effect. The REM Beauty has an innovative idea with the black and white mixing thing tho, I give them that ☺️❤ I wanna try the Nars one so bad!

although REM beauty do a very wide range of shades in that concealer

I was actually able to tell the difference because on the nars side I thought I didn’t blend it enough lol

I don’t wear makeup at all so I don’t have the best eye for these things but I could IMMEDIATELY tell that the NARS side was much better

I just purchased a concealer from Doll 10. It's called "TCE This Covers Everything Concealer" I don't use makeup much but I needed a concealer for my dark circles and this works wonders.

The NARS is prettier on your skin.

I think the only thing that throws ppl off is how not inclusive most brands are. I'm not sure about nars, but usually brands don't have the right shades for really dark or really light skinned people. rem did a great job at that. I still don't really think that the price is warranted, but it would explain the hype around it more. (if u don't factor in that it's made by ariana, which ofc is also a reason why ppl buy it)

NARs has an incredible shade range, and they have for years!

I'm pretty sure the black is actually a dark purple. Black pigment isn't typically a thing anyways. If you take black paint, hair dye, etc. and mix them with white you'll get a purple, blue, or green color. I would say the black probably makes a foundation more cool toned though.

Nars looked better but I like the inclusivity of REM, REM is new so they might release a new formula that’s even better than the Nars, either way love both brands

I knew immediately that on the nars side there was a different product. It just looks so different

i don’t know where she got her info from cause the r.e.m concealer is cheaper it’s only $24 and has a way bigger shade range than NARS and the r.e.m one is also vegan and cruelty free so r.e.m is definitely a better option

Well the black and white pigment is to customize your councealer , not mixing them.

I’ve seen influencers with significantly deeper skin tones use a little of the black to darken a concealer formula slightly to get a better match since it’s difficult to find options in the deep shade range. I even saw one use the rem concealer as a contour and it actually worked for her skin tone. The white I’m not sure about. I know that there are those who have pale, ivory skin who also complain they don’t have often have options that go that light. I assume they can mix a little of the white to lighten even the lightest shade.

Yes, the white in tiny amounts would work, but not the black! I would've liked to see two deep brown shades one warm and one a little more cool/neutral!

Always! What's your current go-to concealer?

I think that the remembut concealer is more for people who have rare skin or make up products with undertones. That are harder to find because a lot of company don’t make concealers another make up products and darker shades but obviously, if you’re someone like me who has lighter toned skin you wouldn’t really have much of a reason to buy it unless you like really like Ariana Grande

Sure the NARS concealer could be better but some people don't have a skin match in the NARS concealer rem beauty is super inclusive and supportive unlike NARS the point of how viral the rem beauty one is is because of the incusivity

Something she didn't consider though is how much product is in each. I just looked up both products on Ulta and the Nars concealer is actually $32 and comes with 0.21oz of product, while the REM beauty concealer is $24 and comes with a bit more product, 0.28oz. I do this all the time whenever I'm deciding on the rare occasion that I wanna splurge and buy a more upscale brand, but I wanna also get the most bang for my buck as well. So REM is actually a far better deal. I also saw that she used noticeably more of the Nars product when she applied to that side which is probably why she liked it more. More product is more coverage of course, so it wasn't really a fair review when you go ham with the concealer you already claimed is a favorite and then skimp out on the REM one, doesn't give it a fair chance

The answer is yes, the black shade may turn your concealer gray if you mix too much in. It’s color theory, so really she should’ve come out with red yellow and blue to mix in and if you mix equal parts of the primaries they will neutralize and create the same shade but darker, and won’t desaturate like the black might. Also you’d be able to adjust the undertone by adding any one primary color. A few brands come out with drops that do this for your foundation, it’s a life saver if your foundation is the wrong shade and you spent too much money not to use it

the black and white is not supposed be mixed with each other but the other shade to match to your own shade. At least that's what I understand.

The black and white can be mixed into a colored concealer especially for girls with deeper skin tones you just have to know the right amount to use for each to get the right contour shade /concealer shade
