As a Therapist, I’m not fully convinced he is narcissistic. He may have some traits like many do. But he’s showing empathy and accountability. He seems to be really regretful and broken. Which we know narcissists can be depressed from a place of “The world doesn’t see how great and fantastic I am.” perspective. But his seems to show some level of care but a lot of confusion in understanding his motivations. She is completely emasculating! She seems very pathological in the way she speaks to him and if their relationship was made up of any semblance of that then she may be the narcissist. Or very emotionally and mentally abusive. These are just my thoughts based on watching a few videos. So I’ll do more digging to see if my opinion changes.

@@jadeblackwell6227 Yeah, that does seem to fit into all this. Bc I have read through many comments about this and it seems that so many take her side. I feel that could be related to social biases bc society many times struggle to recognize that men too are abused. And abuse comes in many forms that aren't visible on the physical body. I have found it intolerable to watch her say such cruel things and everyone backing her and she still feels this amount of anger and shows so much disrespect. She surrounds herself with a terrible group of friends who don't correct her when she's wrong so she feels justified in everything she does and says. This behavior seems to consistent for times when she doesn't get her way. Her emotional, anger outbursts are way too extreme for the situation. I certainly empathize, understand and relate to the hurt and humiliation, but I too wonder the role she has played in all of this. She takes pleasure in being a victim.

Tom sandavol and Rachel should not have done what they did but when Ariana looked at Tom and say why didn’t he leave and he says because you threatened to take your own life, she responded with something like “yeah I did you should have called my friends and left me” I don’t understand why more people aren’t talking about this because that’s so serious, if the shoe was on the other foot and under any circumstances Tom leveraged him wanting to her himself he would have been absolutely torn apart beyond anything that happening to him now because people would see that as controlling,but for some reason when Ariane threatens her life no one flinches Tom said he tried to break up with her multiple times, I think she could have left, said to her self hey I’m at a point where I’m threatening to end my life if someone leaves me maybe I should work on my self abit and consider how that could drive a wedge in my relationship, Tom had a harder decision to leave because he had her life hanging over his head, she could have left she didn’t have anyone threatening to take they’re life if she did, emotional leverage can make people feel cornered i feel even a therapist would say that’s text book pushing someone away. But also this is just a opinion I think that there was more than a kiss between Tom and Ariana when him and Kristen were together, it’s like Lala calling someone else a mistress, it just doesn’t sit right once you have all the details.

Agree. In 10 years, both of them had changed a lot. Now women look at him with admiration, any man would love that. Then he comes home to this nagging hobo in sweatpants that commands him “you should be grateful to me, I was with you since you were nobody, I remember who you are - a nobody. They only like you for what you have now”. Basically, reinstating that he has no value in this relationship, she is way above him and always was, so of course he is going to seek out women that validate his self-esteem and prove another. You have to accommodate and be interesting to the current version of your partner, otherwise you will just drift apart and both find other friends that make them feel like home.

He’s blaming everything on her. This is so typical. This is why I’m so reluctant to get married. You can go through periods of busy-ness or even have a baby and a man will blame you for not being completely available to him. But when he goes through periods of busy-ness he expects the woman to understand and remain faithful. I can’t do it. They flip too often. This isn’t typical at all. It means you’ve found yourself a shi***man who doesn’t believe in monogamy or marriages. It’s really important from the outset to find someone who shares your views and morals, you can’t mold someone into what you want. Tom spent more time putting energy into defending how real and meaningful his connection is to Raquel than mending the broken heart of the person before him (who he was supposed to be committed to for like a decade together). He took it as an opportunity to defend his adultery by victimzing himself and blaming Ariana for relationship problems that made him seek out Raquel. Total gaslighting. It speaks volumes. All he cares about is himself. He is too vapid and egotistical to even understand how truly wrong he is. He gives a blanket apology bc of cameras and social expectation, but he doesn't actually care about Ariana. If he did, he would've never yelled at her like that, bc he would've had empathy for the grief he caused her, and he certainly wouldn't have gotten so heated to do so in defense of the person he cheated with. People like Tom are the worst, bc you spend so much time investing yourself in a person you believe is genuinely in love with you, when their concept of love is self-serving and shallow. I agree, they never seemed like endgame material to me. They have disagreements on the most fundamental things in the progression of a relationship like marriage and children (not that either one are necessary to stay with someone but both parties should be in full agreement). But I never would’ve guessed that Tom would do something so slimy to her and then try to gaslight everyone into thinking his affair was somehow justified.

He seems very emotionally fragile/ immature; she is more stoic. I remember very early on them saying they are each others' soulmates which I think is what did them in. That's cute when you're young but as you get older, you have to tackle relationship challenges and be honest about what is going to drive happiness for all parties.

I really assumed the new storyline are the Tom's admitting undying love. Popped out of closet. Never dreamed current situation. Both Toms,rachett and Scheana prove who they are.

I love how he uses the word "selfish", just like we saw Rachel use it at the Reunion preview. They were hyping each other up that the worst thing they did was being selfish LOL the actual audacity these demons have

This scene is very powerful and relatable and can be a life lesson to others. People are smarter now and thank goodness that therapy has become more accessible to cope and handle this kind of situation in life.

Cheating is bad enough but cheating with a friend is the betrayal part. Ariana and Schena was getting closer to her, telling her that “you are one of us” and gave her grace by all the while cheating. This is messed up on all levels!

This whole scandal is really cathartic to me. I've just binge watched the season and I am numb when I think of Ariana's pain because I was her at one time. I was grieving the loss of my mother when my boyfriend of years was emotionally unequipped to handle my circumstances and he cheated. He would blackout and get trashed and not know where he was, and we spoke everyday. So to find out that he was living a completely different lifestyle/had hid so much from me was at the very least heartbreaking if not earth shattering. Never did I blame the girls he cheated with, because for all I knew they had no idea who he was or what he was capable of. And honestly, I blamed myself for even putting myself in that position for YEEARS afterward. Only just recently before watching did I start telling friends who knew us together everything that went down. Seeing all of the love and support for her makes me realize how unfortunate of a situation that was to be in, that an entire nation could be outraged about it really speaks volumes. For anyone else who has suffered a cheating partner, just know that it is going to be okay and you are much stronger now and you WILL get through this. I saw the same guy a few years later, and he was in worse shape than he has ever been, and continues to live a very low lifestyle, and meanwhile I wake up daily very grateful and blessed, and proud of the life I've built for myself. Trust the process, believe me.

I'm truly sorry to hear about the pain and heartbreak you experienced during that difficult time. It takes a great deal of strength and resilience to navigate through such challenges, and I commend you for coming out stronger on the other side. Ariana’s story (and yours) resonates with so many and is the reason the scandal really went viral. She was a loyal, loving partner, who truly stood by him for a decade. Her whispering "nothing" is everything. The loudest sound in the room.

The way Tom had an affair with one of her best friends says a lot about him as a person. Not only that, but the way he's refusing to take accountability and acting like a victim makes him look like a narcissist, however, when he told Ariana that he wanted to leave it's clear that she got issues as well. She didn't deny refusing to let him leave so they had issues beyond Raquel.

Tom never takes accountability in any situation an loves to shame his friends for even the smallest mistake they may make. He’s the most self-righteous being I’ve ever come across.

Thank you, Ariana was sleeping with Tom when he was in a relationship with Kristen. And Ariana was nasty to her and laughing at her. She didn't like it when it was done to her, but it's okay for her to do it to other women. She is such a hypocrite. She was the mistress. I remember everything and I saw every episode. And now she's acting like a victim when she did it to other women karma.

the fact that he has never been sorry or sad to lose her was the biggest blow for her. he is a narcissist

I recently went through a breakup and this made me feel so much better about how I reacted ♥️ this is a universal feeling

They were not right together from the beginning a blind person could see this he wanted things in life she didn't want,his mates were married,having or thinking about kids she didn't want any of that.

I never watch the show before, but I definitely agree with you and if someone is not on the same page with you and then break up instead of cheating on a person, especially with their best friend, but from what I see, I don’t think they were ever best friends in the first place

Totally agree, they were on different pages from day one. What he did was low down and dirty, it was one of her closest friends. However, she’s moved on fast and in a new relationship. I feel they were stretched to the limit in a relationship lacking in many things.

Ariana is a hypocrite. She was having an affair with Tom when he was in a relationship with Kristen. And she used to laugh right in her face. She was very mean and nasty but now she wants pity when she did it to another woman, the nerve of her. What a hypocrite.

This relationship was doomed from the moment she told him she won't marry him and she doesn't want kids. That's major difference and something you can't work on. It was matter of time.

Oh my.. I’ve been a fan since day one.. Truly sorry that this is how things turned out.. I remember the early days when Tom had a conscience.. Is it truly a midlife crisis? And still no remorse.. Just sorry he got caught.. It’s amazing how intellectually you can speak to Tom in spite of it all.. Truly impressed with your choices at describing your feelings.. it’s heartfelt and I wouldn’t worry.. You have an amazing future ahead of you.. Sending best wishes always ❤

@@geminola_23 youre free to do that and people are free to respond to your criticism. She was never upset that he kissed a girl. She was upset because they had a conversation and had come to an agreement in order for them to stay friends. Shwartz is the one who said it was so important to him that they stay friends and the ONE thing katie asked of him, he couldnt do (which is a pattern in their relationship). And when katie made the decision to no longer be friendly as according to their agreement, he acted surprised and Sandoval called her entitled. People who willfully misinterpret why katie was upset because they don't like her are free to do so, i never said otherwise. He completely disrespected her and she reacted how she did. 12 years of buildup vs an unexpected betrayal is different.

Rewatching this now and seeing how hilarious it is that he thinks him and Raquel have a "deep connection" and now she's suing him. All she was for him was an ego boost for his midlife crisis.

Coming back to this it’s just painfully sad that everything they built together is now gone. They went from that disaster apartment to the beautiful home which we know probably cost them so much money in LA. All gone because of bad decisions and selfishness. No it’s sad and to anyone who’s ever been through it I hope you have find peace and light in your life. You deserve nothing but love of self and others!

I stopped keeping up with this show about five years ago and always thought their relationship was weird, no chemistry. I’m surprised it lasted this long tbh. He’s a nut.

I think Tom thought this situation was going to unfold in a VERY different way!!

When you live with a man and you're both not intimate for years, that's a major issue. They shouldn't have turned a blind eye and wasted years in a toxic partnership. The best of us are addicted to sweeping things under the rug. Their relationship was doomed but I wish it had ended differently.

Most men would leave the house, even if it’s both of theirs(had they made such a colossally gross decision). He’s such a raging pos.

When she asks him when he’s gonna see Raquel next and he immediately says, “tomorrow.” Like WTF.

I’ve been debating confronting a guy that lied to me about being married. This just goes to show that that would a waste of my time. When someone has no remorse, that’s just it, they have no remorse. Not worth it

Scheana or no one else can tell Tom what he should’ve done. He has stated numerous times that he tried to break up with Ariana... for her to threaten to kill her self It was so wrong on so many levels, and for her to just throw it off as if so what I said that you should've waited for me do it and then move on🙄
